perf(api,desktop,host-service): cut api traffic that no one needed - #7761
Conversation
The api is 93% of a ~$5.3k/month Vercel bill, and most of its requests turned out to be avoidable: - proxy.ts ran on every request only to add CORS headers, billing each request as two invocations. Its matcher now covers just the paths a browser fetches (tRPC, auth minus jwks/oauth2/token, desktop version, Linear image proxy); webhooks and server callers skip it. - host-service retried a refresh token the api had already rejected on every call it made, so a host with a dead login hammered /oauth2/token forever (every sampled response was 400 or 429). A rejected token is now not sent again until the config holds a new one. - /api/auth/jwks is now CDN-cacheable for five minutes. The relay's Workers isolates refetched it constantly; the key never rotates. - getByBranches polled every 30s from every desktop, with an empty ref list for everyone without cloud workspaces. - The sidebar automations failure badge polled latestRuns + list every two minutes and on every focus, in every window. The badge is gone; the paywall decision fetches the list once on click, the getting started card stops polling, and the hook moves next to the page, its only user. The badge's seen-failures store is deleted and its key added to DEAD_KEYS.

Record rejectedRefreshToken only for invalid_grant.
The documented token endpoint can return invalid_request or invalid_client in its HTTP 400 OAuth error response. HTTP status alone does not prove that the refresh token is invalid. The current code caches the token before reading the error body, so later refresh attempts with that token fail at the local rejection guard.
Parse the error response first and cache the token only when error === "invalid_grant". Add a test that retries the same token after a 400 invalid_request response.

…ed by realtime nudges (#8016) * feat(desktop, trpc): bring back the automations failure badge, refreshed by realtime nudges The sidebar badge for failed automations was removed in #7761 because it polled latestRuns + list every two minutes and on every focus, in every window: about 780k API requests a day across the installed base. It is back with the same UI, but nothing polls. The API nudges the org's realtime hub (new `automation_runs` kind) on every run status write: dispatched, dispatch_failed, skipped_offline, and the QStash run-failed route. About 2.5k nudges a day. Windows invalidate latestRuns/listRuns on the nudge; hidden windows refetch on focus; a socket reopen refetches everything, so a missed nudge only delays the badge. latestRuns now returns the automation owner, so the badge no longer needs automation.list, and runs of deleted automations drop out. The automations page loses its 2-minute latestRuns poll too, since it shares the hook. The seen-failures store returns under its old key, which leaves DEAD_KEYS. * fix(desktop, trpc): bound badge staleness, nudge on delete, sync seen mark across windows - latestRuns stays fresh for 10 minutes instead of forever, so a missed nudge or a run written before the socket's first open heals on focus. - automation.delete nudges, so other windows drop the deleted automation's failed run. - The seen-failures store syncs across windows, so opening Automations in one window clears the badge in all of them. - cs, es, fr, it, pl, pt-BR, ru: count-neutral wording for the failure strings, which read wrong for a count of 1 (or 2-4 in cs/pl).

What & why
The Vercel bill is on track for ~$5.3k this month, and the
apiproject is 93% of it. A sample of 5,000 production requests showed a lot of that traffic isn't needed:proxy.tsmatcher narrowed/api/trpc,/api/auth/*exceptjwksandoauth2/token,/api/desktop/version,/api/proxy/linear-image). Webhooks, host-service, the CLI, the SDK and MCP skip it.refreshNeededstayedtrue, so a host with a dead login retried the rejected refresh token on every api call, forever. Every sampledoauth2/tokenresponse with a recorded status was 400 or 429. A token rejected with 400 or 401 is no longer sent until the config holds a new one; network errors, 429s and 5xx still retry./api/auth/jwksCDN-cacheableCache-Control: public, s-maxage=300, stale-while-revalidate=3600. The relay's Workers isolates keep refetching the key set, and each fetch ran a function. We never rotate the RS256 key, so 5 minutes of staleness is safe. Depends on theproxy.tschange: before it, the proxy ran onjwkstoo.getByBranchesgatedautomation.latestRuns+automation.listevery 2 min and on every window focus, in every window. The badge is gone; clicking Automations goes straight to the page on a paid plan and otherwise fetches the list once to decide on the paywall. The getting-started card stops its 60s poll, anduseFailedAutomationsmoves next to the automations page, its only user. The seen-failures store is deleted andautomation-failures-v1is added toDEAD_KEYS.Separately (not in this PR): the Sazabi log drains were switched to 5% head sampling. They had been costing ~$775/month.
