Problem

Cold-start output does not identify the modules and initialization work behind long startup times. The initial server configuration also waits for remote-target discovery, which can spend seconds waiting for an unavailable Tailscale daemon.

Change

Add vp run profile:startup to capture CPU profiles and detailed module-loading timelines for the dev runner and its inherited Node processes. Record resolution, loading, preparation, linking, evaluation, startup measures and synchronous subprocess calls. Exclude the launcher itself from captures, support Node 26 loader arguments, and document the profiling flags and overhead.

Start remote-target discovery alongside the other probes, send the initial configuration subscription snapshot without awaiting its result, then publish discovered targets without rolling back settings or keybinding updates. Already-completed results go into the initial snapshot, avoiding a redundant full snapshot on cached reconnects. Results that outlast the snapshot timeout still arrive. Preserve the one-shot configuration request's discovery behavior.
