fix(web): Tab completes folder names in the add-project browser - #28243
In the Add project → Local folder browser, pressing Tab while typing a path moves focus out of the input instead of completing the folder name, so every path has to be typed in full. Expected: shell-style completion, e.g. ~/Creation + Tab → ~/Creations/.
Change
getFilesystemBrowseTabCompletion in packages/client-runtime/src/state/filesystem.ts (pure, next to filterFilesystemBrowseEntries): one visible match completes to that directory; several matches extend the typed leaf to their longest common prefix; otherwise nothing.
CommandPalette.tsx handles unmodified Tab while browsing: the highlighted directory row (if any) or the single match is entered through the existing browseTo, so the path gets its trailing separator and the listing moves into the folder. A common prefix only rewrites the leaf. Tab is always consumed while browsing so focus stays in the input. Shift+Tab is untouched. In the clone-destination step, prefix extension is skipped because the leaf there is the pinned clone name.
Tab never adds the project; Enter / ⌘ Enter behave as before.
Scope and approval
Small, focused fix: Tab in a path field that leaves the field rather than completing is the obvious keyboard defect here. It is web-only, since mobile has no Tab key. The helper lives in client-runtime, so mobile can reuse it if it ever needs to.
Verification
vp test run packages/client-runtime/src/state/filesystem.test.ts passes. It adds a case covering a single match, a common-prefix extension, no extension, and no match.
vp run check:changed: lint, knip, typecheck (7 packages), and react compiler pass. The browser test run failed locally because Playwright browsers aren't installed on this machine; it was not a test failure. Format was fixed and the pre-commit hooks pass.
Manual run in the web dev client (vp run dev against isolated state), Add project → Local folder, starting at ~/:
Creation + Tab → ~/Creations/ and the listing shows its subfolders
Cod + Tab → ~/Creations/Coding/
Open + Tab → ~/Creations/Coding/OpenSourced/ and the listing shows t3code
Tab at ~/ with many matches → no change, and focus stays in the input
The project was never added during these steps.
Not checked: the desktop shell (same web code), Windows paths, and before/after screen captures. The Browser panel's screenshot tool timed out in my environment. I can attach a recording if needed.
Pressing Tab while typing a path in the Local folder browser moved focus
out of the input instead of completing. Tab now completes shell-style: a
single match (or the highlighted row) enters that directory, and several
matches extend to their common prefix. Focus stays in the input.

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — Tab now completes folder names or navigates into a selected folder in the project browser. It reuses existing directory browsing without submitting projects or starting clones.

Walkthrough
The filesystem state adds a helper that returns a complete match, a longer shared prefix, or no completion. The command palette uses the helper when Tab is pressed during filesystem browsing. Tests cover complete, partial, and unmatched results.

Summary
Completion logic and command palette integration packages/client-runtime/src/state/filesystem.ts, apps/web/src/components/CommandPalette.tsx, packages/client-runtime/src/state/filesystem.test.ts
The helper returns a complete match for one entry or a longer shared prefix for multiple entries when the prefix extends the query. The command palette navigates on complete matches and updates the query for partial matches when no clone directory is pinned. Tests cover unique matches, shared prefixes, case differences, Unicode, and unmatched results.

filesystem.test.ts checks only the helper result. CommandPalette.tsx separately consumes Tab and calls browseTo(completion.name). The existing browser test does not press Tab. Add a browser case that enters a unique prefix, presses Tab, asserts the directory changes, and asserts the combobox retains focus. A caller regression would otherwise pass the current tests.

Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win
Keep all visible matches after completion.
For entries ΟΣα and οσβ, in that order, query ο completes to ΟΣ. Lowercasing that prefix produces ος, so the next filter hides both entries. The palette can then offer to create a new folder instead. Lowercasing is context-sensitive. (tc39.es)
Check that the completed prefix still matches every visible entry under the full-string filter. Add this case to the existing test.
