Summary

  • The strip above Files / Changes / Review now has a pages menu next to Run: pages published from this workspace, your pinned pages, and "All pages".
  • "New page" in the menu takes a one-line request and hands it to an agent, using the same agent picker as design mode and diff comments.
  • When a publish lands, the button turns blue with "New" and the row is marked, until the menu is closed.

Screenshots

Captured over CDP from this branch's dev app (dark theme). Page titles are demo names set in the worktree's own dev database for the capture.

Populated: workspace pages, then pinned Fresh publish: blue "New" button, row marked
New page composer with the agent picker No pages in this workspace yet

Why / Context

A page an agent publishes from a workspace was only reachable by leaving for the org-wide Pages view. The sidebar's top strip had been empty since the PR badge and Open-in moved out (#7167), so it had room. Gated on the existing PAGES flag.

How It Works

  • WorkspacePagesMenu (Popover) is rendered by the workspace page and passed into PRActionHeader beside runButton, the same way the Run button is.
  • Workspace pages come from the existing page.list({ workspaceId }). Pinned pages come from page.list({}) filtered by usePageFavorites, fetched only while the menu is open. No API or schema change.
  • selectMenuPages sorts by latest publish, drops pinned pages already listed under the workspace, and flags pages published after the last-seen time.
  • Last-seen is a session-only zustand store keyed by workspace. It records the newest publish the menu has displayed, not the wall clock, so a slow refetch cannot clear a badge for a page that was never shown. Nothing is persisted.
  • The list refetches on open and on the workspace's page-watch:changed event.
  • useAgentSessionLauncher is extracted from usePaneRegistry unchanged, so the sidebar can start agent sessions. buildPageAgentPrompt(request?) replaces PAGE_AGENT_PROMPT; with no request it returns the same text (checked byte for byte).
  • usePageFavorites moves to _dashboard/hooks/ now that two routes use it.

Manual QA Checklist

Driven over CDP with real input against this worktree's dev app, console.error hooked and empty throughout. Run twice: once before committing and again on the committed build for the screenshots above.

  • No pages: bare icon, menu shows New page and All pages
  • With pages: count on the button, newest first, relative times
  • Clicking a row opens the page in a pane in this workspace and closes the menu
  • New page: composer opens with the default request focused and selected, agent picker populated, send enabled
  • Escape in the composer steps back to the list; Escape again closes; outside click closes
  • Fresh publish: button turns blue with "New", row marked, both clear after closing, stay clear on reopen
  • Pinned section appears after pinning a page in the Pages view; private page shows the lock
  • Sending the New page request to an agent (not submitted, it spawns a real agent)
  • page-watch:changed firing on a real publish (the publish was simulated by bumping a version timestamp in the dev DB branch)
  • Light theme and Windows/Linux window-controls inset

Testing

  • bun run typecheck (desktop): 0 errors
  • bunx biome check on the touched tree: clean
  • bun test for selectMenuPages and buildPageAgentPrompt: 7 pass
  • bun run check:i18n: passes; 7 new strings translated in all 16 locales

Design Decisions

  • Popover, not DropdownMenu: the composer has a textarea and a select, and menu typeahead would eat keystrokes.
  • Escape handled in onEscapeKeyDown: Radix dismisses at the document level, so a React keydown handler with stopPropagation runs too late.
  • Reuse the agent picker rather than always starting a new session, so there is one way to hand a prompt to an agent across the app.

Known Limitations

  • Placement is still under discussion on the design page (strip icon vs a fourth tab vs a labeled button vs a footer bar). The list, composer, pinned and fresh-publish pieces are placement-independent, so moving them is a change of mount point.
  • page.list mints a ticket per row and took about 5s against the dev API, so the count can lag a publish by that much.
  • NewPageComposer imports AgentPickerSelect from under usePaneRegistry/components/, as PullRequestCommentComposer already does. Promoting that folder is left for a separate move-only PR.

…w page

The strip above Files / Changes / Review only held the Run button. It now
also hosts a pages menu: the pages published from this workspace, the
user's pinned pages, a composer that asks an agent for a new page, and a
"New" state when a publish lands.

- WorkspacePagesMenu reads page.list({ workspaceId }); pinned pages come
from the org list, fetched only while the menu is open.
- New page reuses the agent picker from design mode and diff comments, so
the prompt goes to a running agent or a new session.
- useAgentSessionLauncher is extracted from usePaneRegistry so the page
can launch sessions from the sidebar.
- buildPageAgentPrompt replaces PAGE_AGENT_PROMPT; with no request it
returns the same text as before.
- "Seen" tracks the newest publish the menu has displayed rather than the
wall clock, so a slow refetch cannot swallow the New badge.
- Escape steps back from the composer via onEscapeKeyDown, since Radix
dismisses at the document level before a React keydown can stop it.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The change adds a feature-flagged workspace pages menu with page sorting, pinned pages, new-page indicators, agent-based page creation, shared session launching, and localized UI strings. It also replaces a static page-agent prompt with a tested prompt builder.

Changes

Workspace Pages and Agent Flow

Layer / File(s) Summary
Page-agent prompt builder
apps/desktop/src/renderer/routes/_authenticated/_dashboard/utils/pageAgentPrompt/*, apps/desktop/src/renderer/routes/_authenticated/_dashboard/pages/components/PagesView/hooks/useCreatePageWithAgent/*
The static page-agent prompt is replaced with buildPageAgentPrompt(). The builder trims requests, asks what to create when no request is provided, and has focused tests.
Workspace pages menu and page selection
apps/desktop/src/renderer/routes/_authenticated/_dashboard/v2-workspace/$workspaceId/components/WorkspacePagesMenu/*
The new menu displays workspace and pinned pages, marks recently published pages as new, tracks seen timestamps per workspace, opens pages, and provides a new-page composer.
Shared agent-session launcher and sidebar wiring
apps/desktop/src/renderer/routes/_authenticated/_dashboard/v2-workspace/$workspaceId/hooks/useAgentSessionLauncher/*, apps/desktop/src/renderer/routes/_authenticated/_dashboard/v2-workspace/$workspaceId/hooks/usePaneRegistry/*, apps/desktop/src/renderer/routes/_authenticated/_dashboard/v2-workspace/$workspaceId/page.tsx, apps/desktop/src/renderer/routes/_authenticated/_dashboard/v2-workspace/$workspaceId/components/WorkspaceSidebar/*
Agent-session creation and terminal focusing move into a shared hook. The workspace page renders the pages menu when the PAGES feature flag is enabled and passes it through the sidebar action header.
Page menu localization
packages/i18n/locales/*/messages.po
Seven page and workspace strings are added to the English catalog and translated across the listed locale catalogs.

- Repository picker, cloud working branches and attachments, mobile sessions, sidebar naming and ordering: #7694, #7620, #7622, #7633, #7604, #7650, #7575. Files: first-workspace.mdx; workspaces.mdx.
- Slack plugin tools and gated thread follow-ups, queuing, mute and stop controls: #7583, #7585, #7586, #7588, #7592, #7594. Files: use-with-slack.mdx.
- New CLI transcript, environment, and page deletion commands; connected-service plugins and MCP CLI migration: #7602, #7317. Files: cli/cli-reference.mdx; skills.mdx.
- Startup recovery and pre-account workspace migration: #7764, #7649. Files: troubleshooting.mdx.

Current source wins over PR descriptions: page ordering is newest-created first, search includes description, default CLI output remains a bare array, and the leaderboard automatically backfills since launch (there is no history-range picker). Slack thread commands and Mobile settings retain their availability qualifications. No assumption that every merged fix is already in the latest download.

## Validation

- bun install: passed; no tracked dependency changes.
- bun run lint:fix: passed, no code fixes.
- bun run lint: passed.
- bun run --cwd apps/docs typecheck: passed.
- Vale on all 16 changed docs: zero errors and warnings. Small pre-existing prose violations in touched pages were corrected to satisfy the SOP.
- git diff --check: passed.

Only apps/docs/content/docs/ and the required append-only root TODO log are included. No push or PR.

37 PRs drove changes; 66 were deliberately skipped as separate documentation work.

* docs: correct stale claims and consolidate weekly updates

Replace outdated remote-port and privacy claims, correct the 90-day leaderboard backfill cap and link settings location, and describe credential use and comment-watch registration accurately. Consolidate iPhone requirements and troubleshooting, trim repeated Pages prose, and keep launch effort details in the CLI reference.

Remove the #7764 startup entry because it does not identify a fixed release and its upgrade instructions are too vague. This supersedes that item in the original PR audit. Validate with docs typecheck, lint:fix, lint, Vale (zero errors or warnings), and git diff --check.

* docs: trim repeated explanations across user guides

* docs: clarify iPhone cloud workspace requirements
