old snoozed threads immediately settled when manually woken or their timer expired under inactivity auto-settle. restart the inactivity window from manual wake or the elapsed snooze deadline while preserving sidebar sort position. verified both real client/server wake paths with one-day auto-settle enabled and read-only persisted-state checks; native mobile and provider resumption remain unverified. model: gpt-6.1-sol; harness: codex.

before manual wake: old thread immediately settled

after manual wake: actual wake keeps the thread unsettled

before timer wake: old thread immediately settled

after timer wake: real timer keeps the thread unsettled

pinning a snoozed thread also restarts inactivity. the actual tomorrow → pin → unpin path retained lastSnoozeWakeAt at 2026-10-07T02:23:05.098Z with pinnedAt, snoozedUntil, settledAt, settledOverride and autoSettleDisabledAt all null.

after pin then unpin: thread remains awake

snooze then pin and unpin interaction

Approvability

Verdict: Approved at af91f3b

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — This is a focused server bug fix that persists an optional snooze-wake timestamp and correctly restarts existing auto-settlement inactivity timing. The change is backward-compatible, limited to established orchestration paths, and covered by unit and runtime tests.

You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Learn more.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

Thread state now records lastSnoozeWakeAt when an active snooze is cleared. Settlement candidates expose this timestamp, and automatic settlement includes snooze wake times when calculating inactivity.

Changes

Snooze wake settlement timing

Layer / File(s) Summary
Record snooze wake timestamps
packages/contracts/src/orchestrationV2.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/Orchestrator.ts
The thread contract adds optional nullable lastSnoozeWakeAt. Unsnooze, pinning, and limit-recovery paths set it when they clear an active snooze.
Calculate inactivity from snooze wake time
apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/ProjectionStore.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/ThreadSettlementService.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/ThreadSettlementService.test.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/runtimeLayer.test.ts
Settlement candidates include lastSnoozeWakeAt. Settlement resolution considers recorded wake times and passed snooze timers when calculating inactivity. Tests cover manual and timer wakes, and verify the candidate timestamp after unsnoozing.

Merge Risk

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to af91f

An empty thread woken from snooze may not start the intended inactivity window. The impact is limited to threads without prior activity; clarify or address that edge case.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to af91f

The change is narrowly scoped to thread settlement timing and adds an optional stored timestamp. No introduced security issue was established, but mobile behavior and cross-version rollback have not been fully verified.

Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.

Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The timing change can affect all eligible snoozed threads processed by the server’s settlement scan, while each mutation and timestamp belongs to a specific thread. Shared-contract fanout alone does not demonstrate an expanded privilege or cross-service attack surface. Deployment and tenant isolation outside these paths were not established.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The changed wake producers assign server-side timestamps. The inspected usage-limit continuation checks the persisted run, recovery request, reset deadline, provider identity and pending-request state before resuming; those authority checks are unchanged by this PR.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • inferred — The inspected ordinary provider-recovery path clears snooze and creates a fresh run request and user message in the same command plan. Its preexisting omission of lastSnoozeWakeAt therefore does not by itself establish a new premature-settlement path. Exceptional transfer branches and end-to-end provider behavior remain unverified.

2866-2866: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick win

Cover the snoozed pin path through settlement timing.

thread.pin is a reachable command. When it receives an actively snoozed thread, it records lastSnoozeWakeAt. Add a focused test that pins such a thread, asserts the timestamp, and verifies that resolveAutoSettlementAt uses it at the one-day boundary. The existing pin tests only check pinnedAt exclusion, so removing this assignment can leave them passing.

2938-2938: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick win

Assert the recovery wake timestamp in the matching metadata-update test.

The wake scenario dispatches the matching thread.metadata.update, but checks only snoozedUntil. Removing lastSnoozeWakeAt: now could leave this test passing. Add an assertion for lastSnoozeWakeAt; the separate settlement test already covers how that timestamp delays settlement.

Suggested fix
-        assert.isNull((yield* orchestrator.getThreadProjection(threadId)).thread.snoozedUntil);
+        const recoveredThread = (yield* orchestrator.getThreadProjection(threadId)).thread;
+        assert.isNull(recoveredThread.snoozedUntil);
+        assert.equal(recoveredThread.lastSnoozeWakeAt, now);

Update the wake scenario’s matching thread.metadata.update test to assert that
the recovered thread’s lastSnoozeWakeAt equals now, in addition to checking
snoozedUntil is null.
