"No project" was already an option in New thread in..., but it was the last row, below every project. With more than a handful of projects it sat off screen, so users reported it as missing.

It now goes right after the current project, so it is visible without scrolling and Enter still starts in the current project. When the current thread has no project, "No project" goes first. It also always shows its own mod+alt+n shortcut; before, it took a mod+N slot when there were fewer than nine projects.

The new-thread-in open path re-sorted the list to put the current project first, which buildSidebarProjectPickerEntries already does. That duplicate sort is gone, so the sidebar button, chat.new, and the root palette's submenu all show the same order.

Before After
Before: New thread in... lists six projects and "No project" is off screen at the bottom After: "No project" is the second row, under the current project, with its own shortcut

Both taken with the same 12 projects, from a thread in pingdotgg/t3code.

Web/desktop only. Mobile's new-task screen already lists "No project" first.

Model: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) in Claude Code via T3 Code.

Devin Review

"No project" was the last row of New thread in..., below every project,
so with a few projects it sat off screen. It now follows the current
project, and leads the list when the current thread has no project.
It also keeps showing its own shortcut instead of taking a mod+N slot.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The command palette now builds project actions for the new-thread view, adjusts where the “No project” action appears, and uses the resulting list without separately reordering it by the active project.

Changes

New-thread project picker

Layer / File(s) Summary
Build project actions
apps/web/src/components/CommandPalette.tsx
Project actions exclude scratch projects and include group member titles, paths, and the environment label as search terms. Selecting a project reuses the contextual project reference when it belongs to the selected group. When a scratch target environment exists, the “No project” action appears after the first project, or first when the first picker project is scratch.
Use project actions in new-thread view
apps/web/src/components/CommandPalette.tsx
The new-thread view uses the project actions directly. It no longer reorders them by the active project or re-enumerates the list.

Scheduled sync of 34 upstream commits (to 740bda4). Upstream pingdotgg#16335
makes every T3 MCP tool declare its callers and pingdotgg#16336 lets outside
agents sign in with OAuth, so the fork's session_* tools and
wait_for_background_commands now go through McpToolAccess: the writing
ones act as the calling thread (live run required), the reading ones
read as it, and a thread-less OAuth client is refused. The
attached-worktree guard sits on ws.ts's new group-middleware handler,
and "New thread in..." keeps its count on pingdotgg#16628's reordered list.

* fix(release): Forgejo build resolves version-qualified catalog overrides

Upstream now pins overrides such as undici@^8 to the catalog; the packaging
script looked up the whole selector and failed. Mirrors upstream pingdotgg#16411.

* fix(server): HTML renders and PDFs load behind a proxy that forbids framing

Clients frame asset documents from the environment's origin, which is
often not their own. A reverse proxy that adds X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN
blanked every HTML render and PDF preview in that setup. Inline HTML and
PDF asset responses now carry `frame-ancestors *`, which browsers honour
in place of X-Frame-Options.

* fix(server): desktop renderer may frame asset documents

CSP's `*` matches only http(s) ancestors, so the desktop app's custom
scheme origins are listed explicitly.
