feat(desktop): copyable sign-in command with config dir on expired usage accounts - #6628
Conversation
📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughExpired accounts now show provider-specific terminal sign-in commands. Users can copy commands with visual feedback, and copy failures show an error toast. Command generation is shared between the usage card and account dialog. ChangesExpired account recovery
Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~20 minutes Merge Risk: 🟠 High · up to The copied sign-in command does not safely quote profile paths, so paths containing shell syntax could execute unintended commands when pasted. Merge should wait until the command is shell-safe and covered by regression tests. Sequence Diagram(s)sequenceDiagram

📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win
Move AccountCard into its own component directory.
The changed feature adds behavior to local AccountCard, while UsageView.tsx defines QuotaWindowRow, AccountCard, and UsageView. Move AccountCard to UsageView/components/AccountCard/AccountCard.tsx, add an index.ts barrel, and co-locate its supporting dependencies.
As per coding guidelines: “One component per file” and “If used once, nest under parent's components/.”

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win
Quote non-default profile paths before building the command.
configDir is interpolated directly into a shell assignment. A path such as /Users/me/Claude Work splits the copied command into separate words, so it does not start the intended CLI with the intended profile. Shell metacharacters can also change command parsing.
Build the environment value from account.selection and POSIX-quote it. Add cases with whitespace and a single quote to signInCommand.test.ts.

🔒 Security & Privacy | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win
Use POSIX shell quoting for selection.
selection can contain ", $(), or backticks. Double quotes do not neutralize command substitution. A profile path with these characters can execute shell syntax when the user pastes the copied command.
Quote the complete value with single-quote escaping before adding it to the command. Add regression tests for a path with $(...) and an apostrophe.
