named Claude sessions can show an unanswered question as finished because the session-name divider hides the live controls from detection.

this adds a named-session form rule that keeps all required controls in the same footer and accepts wrapped controls. it only allows a counted task panel, marked task rows, and optional pending overflow after the divider. later prompts, output, or free-form activity invalidate the match, including lines ending in ellipses. the existing unnamed rule stays unchanged, and bundled/published manifests match.

validation:

  • live Claude Code 2.1.296 with --model haiku: unnamed, --name, /rename, custom --agent, multi-select, narrow wrapped footers, and answered → working → idle transitions
  • real 22-column terminal with a three-line footer, plus 28- and 46-column captures
  • synthetic engine tests cover historical ellipsis output, unrelated historical controls, wrapping, and malformed auxiliary tails; no captured-screen classification tests
  • just check passed before rebase; after rebasing onto current master, all 35 detect::manifest tests and catalog validation passed
  • bundled/catalog byte comparison and diff whitespace check passed

limits: task tools were unavailable for a fresh live task-panel smoke. structured panel shapes follow reporter evidence; arbitrary task activity is deliberately excluded. the separate no-footer review page is not part of this fix.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The Claude manifests add a live_blocked_form_named_session rule. It matches supported Enter and Esc controls followed by a divider and an optional counted task panel. A new synthetic manifest test checks accepted footer and panel forms, and rejects incomplete or interrupted controls and newer output after the footer. The manifest version and update date advance to October 2026.

The named-session rule lacks a direct regression test. Adding one would improve confidence before merge; no incorrect classification was established.

Summary

Adds live_blocked_form_named_session to detect unanswered questions above Claude’s session-name divider.

  • Named Claude sessions keep unanswered forms marked as blocked.

ogulcancelik acknowledged that validation uses synthetic engine tests, not captured-screen classification tests. They also noted that task tools were unavailable for a fresh live task-panel check.

Add coverage for the shipped Claude rule.

The new test installs a synthetic Codex rule and calls explain(Agent::Codex, ...). Add Claude cases that call explain(Agent::Claude, ...). Assert live_blocked_form_named_session, visible_blocker, and rejection of a newer prompt after the divider.

i’m keeping synthetic engine tests and live smoke coverage because AGENTS.md forbids bundled-agent screen classification tests and assertions that freeze agent rule ids.

Keep our fork features (federation, gram, api-bridge, guest, push,
notifications, agent archive/forget/transfer, accounts, staged updates)
alongside upstream's v0.9.4, v0.9.5 and unreleased fixes. Most source
conflicts keep our fork's Method enum (upstream's define_operations!
macro cannot express our cfg-gated and serde-skipped variants). Detection
manifests keep our extra rules; Codex integration scripts switch to
upstream's canonical version.

Upstream highlights:
- Persistent macOS/Linux server (SIGHUP no longer stops it)
- Session saves on system shutdown/restart
- Plugin update command
- Keyboard/IME fixes (non-Latin layouts, Ctrl+Shift, accents)
- Windows improvements (PowerShell 7 default, clipboard, notifications)
- SSH compression and bandwidth improvements
- Performance fixes (CPU, memory, hidden pane improvements)
- Codex, Claude Code, Pi, Antigravity, Grok detection updates
- New platform modules (launchd spawn, power/shutdown)
- Vendor patches (libghostty-vt cursor hyperlink, portable-pty Windows dir)
