fix(usage): show Claude hub reset availability - #25480
Claude accounts read through CLIProxyAPI never show whether a reset is available. The hub reader
requests only usage windows, drops the banked/weekly reset blocks, and the clients hide credit
summaries when no redeem action exists. An account with no reset looks identical to one whose
reset status is unknown.
Change
Read Claude's at-wall usage response and preserve banked credit counts plus weekly at-limit
availability. Web/desktop popovers, mobile account details and the composer usage panel display
the same known-available, known-unavailable and unknown states. Missing reset data leaves the
usage windows intact.
Claude hub credits remain read-only. When a hub and native login share an email, the displayed
balance retains its own redemption authority; a read-only hub balance cannot acquire a local
"Use reset" action. Codex and direct Claude redemption continue through their existing paths.
Scope and approval
This is a focused fix for the existing usage/reset display: CLIProxyAPI Claude accounts lose
provider data that the Usage/Limits feature needs to render. The reader, optional shared field
and clients change together to repair that one gap. This uses the focused obvious-bug exception
in CONTRIBUTING.md. It adds no hub Claude redemption, automatic reset, new setting or unrelated
unreadable-account notice.
Verification
vp run check:changed upstream/main passed: formatting, lint, both knip checks, GraphQL,
affected type checks, and 75 tests across five focused files. Those tests cover the hub
reader, account merging/redemption authority, shared status rules, real-browser pooled
popovers and composer rows. Mobile TypeScript checks also passed. Independent backend review
found no actionable issues.
Before/after component-browser captures use the repository's Vitest browser runner, app CSS
and synthetic accounts. Before is the upstream UI at 071239804e given the same reset data
as After. The upstream server also strips that data; these captures isolate the UI side of
the defect and are not full-app screenshots.
Reset state
Before
After
Weekly + banked available
Unavailable
Unknown
Composer, with merged reports: Personal retains its explicit native action; Work's hub-owned
balance is read-only; separate hub rows show unavailable and unknown.
The full-app integration attempt paired an isolated dev server successfully, but the Browser
panel's snapshots repeatedly timed out and its automation host later disconnected. Native mobile
runtime verification was unavailable: Agent device access is turned off for this environment.
These limits do not represent passing full-app or mobile runtime checks.
Implemented with GPT-6.1 Sol in the Codex harness and Claude Opus 5.5 in the Claude Code harness,
orchestrated by T3 Code.
Macroscope's review found this PR requires human approval — This change adds Claude hub reset data ingestion, shared account-merging rules, and new reset-status UI across web and mobile, including altered redemption routing. The cross-cutting behavior affects existing production paths and merits human review.

Walkthrough
Claude hub usage now reports weekly reset availability and banked credits. Shared usage-limit logic preserves this data across account merges. Web and mobile composer and pooled usage views display reset status and available redemption actions.

Layer / File(s)
Summary
Claude hub reset data packages/contracts/src/providerUsageLimits.ts, apps/server/src/usage/cliproxyApi.ts, apps/server/src/usage/cliproxyApi.test.ts
The usage-limit contract adds nullable weekly-reset availability. Claude account reads request and decode reset data, calculate banked credits, and include available reset information in returned limits. Tests cover valid, empty, and unknown reset data, plus banked-credit eligibility.
Merged account reset data packages/shared/src/usageLimits.ts, packages/shared/src/usageLimits.test.ts
Account merging retains reset status and selects hub reset-credit data independently from native usage windows. The shared helper derives weekly availability, banked credits, and unavailable text. Tests cover merge behavior and reset-status combinations.
Reset status and credit summaries apps/web/src/components/usage/UsageLimits.tsx, apps/mobile/src/features/usage/UsageLimitsSection.tsx
Web and mobile components display weekly availability, banked-credit summaries, and unavailable messages. A supplied redemption element replaces the banked-credit summary.
Composer reset status and redemption apps/web/src/components/chat/ComposerUsageLimits.tsx, apps/mobile/src/features/threads/ComposerUsageLimits.tsx, apps/web/src/components/chat/ComposerUsageLimits.browser.test.tsx
Composer views use reset status and conditionally display redeemable credits. Browser tests cover hub and native account presentations.
Pooled usage reset status apps/web/src/components/usage/UsageLimitsPooled.tsx, apps/mobile/src/features/usage/UsageLimitsPooled.tsx, apps/web/src/components/usage/UsageLimitsPooled.browser.test.tsx
Pooled usage views display reset status and include weekly availability in account labels. Browser tests cover Claude status and Codex credit redemption.

Explanation
The title "fix(usage): show Claude hub reset availability" matches the main change. The changeset adds reset-availability reporting for Claude accounts read through CLIProxyAPI (the hub), reads banked credits and at-limit reset data, and renders available, unavailable, and unknown states in web, mobile, and composer usage UI. The title is specific, follows conventional commit style, and is under 50 characters.

Explanation
The description covers the required sections: Problem, Change, Scope and approval, and Verification. It explains the missing reset data for CLIProxyAPI Claude accounts and the fix across the reader, shared field, and clients. It cites the CONTRIBUTING.md obvious-bug exception for scope. Verification lists the checks run (75 tests across five files, check:changed, mobile TypeScript checks) and states the limits of the work: full-app browser snapshots timed out, and native mobile runtime verification was unavailable. Before/after UI captures are included for the changed UI. The template's trailing agent-attribution line is present. The description is detailed and mostly complete.

## Request
Expose Claude Code's saved usage-limit reset grants in `codexbar usage --provider claude --source oauth --json`, analogous to the existing Codex `usage.codexResetCredits` output. This would let CLI consumers display the remaining resets and earliest expiration without making a second authenticated request.
## Data source and observed response
Claude Code 2.1.280 requests `GET https://api.anthropic.com/api/oauth/usage?cedar_ember=1&skip_spend=1` with its OAuth bearer token, `anthropic-beta: oauth-2025-04-20`, and a Claude Code CLI User-Agent. The regular `/api/oauth/usage` response had `cedar_ember: null` for the account tested. The opt-in query returned a `cedar_ember` object. Requests with a generic/`claude-code/<version>` User-Agent returned `eligible: false`, `ineligible_reason: "surface"`, and no grants; `claude-cli/2.1.280 (external, cli)` returned an eligible grant. Please check the appropriate supported client identity rather than assuming the normal usage fetch is enough.

Would you accept a focused PR for just the structured type (full vs 5-hour), or would you rather keep this as a product decision / close it? Happy to implement it if you want it; otherwise I'll leave it to your call.

Thanks @chrisfongyizhe-a11y! As you already noticed, CodexBar reads these for Claude's OAuth and Web sources (since 0.72): the menu has a Limit Reset Credits section, and the CLI / `codexbar serve` include a `Limit Reset Credits` row in `usage.details` with the count and next expiry. The CLI source doesn't report them, so use OAuth or Web if your Claude source is set to CLI.
What's still missing is the reset type (full vs 5-hour) and a structured top-level `resetCredits` field like Codex has. We have a sample of a full reset but not of a 5-hour-only one, and we'd rather not guess its shape. If you get a 5-hour reset at some point, could you share a redacted copy of the `cedar_ember` block from the Claude usage response? Keep the count, timing, pause and cleared-window fields, and remove grant IDs, labels, account identifiers, headers, cookies and tokens.</excerpt>

Request Claude reset credits with an eligible inventory query.
The current request omits cedar_ember=1 and uses a claude-code/... user agent. This combination can return eligible: false without grants. readAccount then reports availableCount: 0 for an account with reset grants.

move the helper and its tests into the existing shared usage module, removing the new client-runtime files and package export. the change now touches 13 files instead of 16, with no new files.
verification: blacksmith vp run check:changed github/main passed formatting, lint, both knip checks, graphql, affected typechecks including mobile, and 78 tests across four existing files, including eight browser tests. the main reader failed the focused regression before the fix. request and banked-inventory regressions also failed before their corrections. two independent code reviews found no remaining blocker or should-fix issue at ee17da83199224217e8cece1a3df6a6a969561b0.
i exercised the running app's local hub → server → websocket → client path. available, unavailable and unknown states appeared correctly, with no hub redemption action. inspected desktop-width light/dark and narrow layouts, and verified uploaded video playback and seeking.
unverified: this vm has no authenticated claude account or live CLIProxy hub. anthropic's live response and actual redemption were not exercised. native mobile, electron and relay/tunnel runtime checks were not performed. live provider verification and maria's approval remain required. @batterybuildsog1, the captures below use synthetic hub responses and do not establish live provider correctness.
the before captures use current main (5127de8c29); after uses ee17da8319, with the same fixture accounts and windows. countdowns advance naturally. the codex warning is present in both versions in this environment.
result: the changed claude hub behavior remains unverifiable on this vm. real codex turns and nearby app behavior work. no source changes or pushes were made.

usage refresh and switching between limits and cost work. cost renders the codex breakdown. codex limits report Codex could not read usage (JSON-RPC -32600) on both main and the pr, so that is not evidence of a regression introduced here.
short runtime transcript. reported github checks are five successful and one skipped, with none failing or pending. no new test run was used as a substitute for live verification.
these matching main/pr captures show the real authorization blocker, not a successful before/after of the reset fix.
Not verified
the original claude reset-display bug could not be reproduced on main, nor the fix proven on the pr. this vm has no authenticated claude login, and the available proxy credential cannot read hub accounts. live available, unavailable, unknown, banked inventory, merged-account redemption authority, and reset redemption paths therefore remain unverified. an authorized CLIProxyAPI management endpoint with a real claude account is needed. codex turn success does not prove them.
native ios/android, electron, macos/windows, remote relay/tunnel, and multi-environment runtime behavior were not exercised.
startup correction: the root checkout's first dev launch defaulted to ~/.t3; i stopped it before opening the client and restarted with explicit --home-dir /home/user/t3code/.t3. all pr browser checks used that isolated home.

Problem

Verification
vp run check:changed upstream/mainpassed: formatting, lint, both knip checks, GraphQL,affected type checks, and 75 tests across five focused files. Those tests cover the hub
reader, account merging/redemption authority, shared status rules, real-browser pooled
popovers and composer rows. Mobile TypeScript checks also passed. Independent backend review
found no actionable issues.
Before/after component-browser captures use the repository's Vitest browser runner, app CSS
and synthetic accounts. Before is the upstream UI at
071239804egiven the same reset dataas After. The upstream server also strips that data; these captures isolate the UI side of
the defect and are not full-app screenshots.
Composer, with merged reports: Personal retains its explicit native action; Work's hub-owned
balance is read-only; separate hub rows show unavailable and unknown.
The Codex comparison is pixel-identical before/after. All captures and captions.
The full-app integration attempt paired an isolated dev server successfully, but the Browser
panel's snapshots repeatedly timed out and its automation host later disconnected. Native mobile
runtime verification was unavailable:
Agent device access is turned off for this environment. These limits do not represent passing full-app or mobile runtime checks.
