Problem

The Usage ? Limits provider list has a fixed order. A user who prioritizes Claude must scroll past other providers every time they open Usage (Ctrl+U).

Change

Add a drag handle to each provider heading on web/desktop, with keyboard sorting (Space, arrows, Space to drop; Escape to cancel). Save the order in the existing device-local Usage preferences. Hidden or disconnected providers retain their positions, and new providers append to the list.

Scope and approval

This configures the order of the existing provider list within Usage ? Limits. It preserves the current order until a user reorders it; quota data, polling, other Usage views, and mobile behavior are unchanged. Submitted under the focused configuration exception in CONTRIBUTING.md; no prior maintainer approval is claimed. The independent account-row display fix has been split into #26256.

Verification

  • check:changed against upstream 93a9e079b107: format, lint, both knip passes, affected-package typechecks, and all 9 tests pass.
  • Chromium interaction test moves Claude above Codex using the keyboard and verifies Escape cancels a subsequent move.
  • Unit tests cover saved order, hidden/disconnected providers, newly available providers, deduplication, and preference persistence alongside existing filters.
  • Fresh screenshots below show the real component before and after reordering. Pointer-drag recording was captured during the earlier integrated browser check. That recording also shows account-display changes now separated into fix(usage): compact account rows and clarify pooled limits #26256.
  • The Electron shell was not separately checked; desktop uses this web component. Native mobile sorting is outside this change.

Approvability

Verdict: Approved at bbfa476

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — Adds device-local provider reordering and clearer account-limit displays across web and mobile. The changes affect presentation, not actual quotas, charges or existing preference defaults.

Walkthrough

Usage limit cards now show average remaining usage and account-specific reset details. Provider sections can be reordered with pointer or keyboard input, and the order is saved in usage page preferences.

Changes: Usage limits

Full details: Title check

Explanation

The title "feat(usage): remember provider display order" names the main change: the Usage Limits provider order is now saved. It uses a conventional commit format and matches the changeset, which adds drag and keyboard reordering of provider headings and persists the order in usage preferences. The title is short, specific, and free of file lists or vague terms.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description follows the template's main sections: Problem, Change, Scope and approval, and Verification. The Problem section states the fixed provider order and the expected behavior. The Change section explains the drag handle, keyboard sorting, and persistence. The Scope section cites the focused configuration exception in CONTRIBUTING.md and says no prior approval is claimed. The Verification section lists the checks run, the Chromium interaction test, the unit tests, and before/after screenshots. The template's optional agent-attribution line is present. The author should confirm that the linked pointer-drag recording is a supporting artifact and not the only evidence for the drag behavior.
