fix(prompt): an answer goes only to the menu, and the asking, it was made for - #470
Conversation
…made for The answer route read the prompt once and then sent its keys; only Claude's unnumbered menus and pi's /model looked again before the Enter. A menu answered in the terminal under the answer's own moves, with another menu in its place, took the rest of the keys. Every answer that moves the cursor now re-reads the screen before its first key that is not ↑/↓ (the Enter, a toggle, the row opened for typing) and is refused with prompt_changed unless the screen shows the card's menu with the cursor on the row the moves were for. pi's dialogs, which have a card only with the cursor on the first row, are read off the screen for this. A prompt's id was a hash of what it says, so the same prompt asked twice in a row was one card: a typed pick waiting for Confirm, or a card still open on another device, could answer the second asking. The id now also names the asking, kept per pane by the server: a new one starts after a read that showed no prompt or another one, after an answer sent by the route, and when the collector reports the agent back at work; a restart starts all anew. The wire shape is unchanged. Fixes #469 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

…ore each one Review of #470 found the asking checked only when an answer starts, and every key after the first committing one sent unseen. - The asking an answer is for is held through the whole answer: once it ends (the agent back at work), no further key goes out, whatever the screen shows. Reads by other clients while an answer redraws the menu neither end nor start an asking. - Every key that is not a move is preceded by a read once the answer has sent anything: the card's menu and cursor before the first one; after it the same question (where a reader knows the screen), the rows and cursor of a multiple choice, pi's text dialog unchanged, and the typed answer on the screen before the key that submits it. After a committing key the screen must read as expected twice, 50 ms apart. - Codex's queued question and omo's form carry the agent's own call id (with the rollout or session) in what the id hashes, so the same question asked by another call is another prompt. - closeQueue is given the answered question's content id again. - A request given up before the first committing key sends no further key; the wait before a key has a wall-clock deadline (750 ms). A redraw that removes or replaces the input but retains the echoed text can therefore pass the check, and the finalEntercan be sent to the replacement screen. …le menu after its first key Third review round on #470. - Regression against main: omp's permission card drawn with the cursor on Deny was not read as that menu, so an answer that moved there was refused. The tail check takes the cursor on the last row (Codex's approval too). A route test per responder now answers a moved, non-default choice on a redrawn screen. - After the first committing key the screen must be the same menu: reader, call id, question and options with their descriptions, not just the question. omo's own row must open its typing form. - The agent's call id is a field beside the hash. A question open in Codex's queue is named by the rollout's unanswered calls that match it, the queue must open on the card's own call and no other, and omo's comparison after Backspace includes the call. - A request given up sends nothing: checked at the start of its turn, before the queue is opened and before the first committing key, with or without a move before it. - The wait before a key is cut off at its deadline: each read is bounded by what is left of it, and one that returns past it authorises nothing. 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winMatch the answer against its input field, not the whole screen.
For an OmO custom answer,
expected()accepts the sameomo-typingquestion and then searches the entire screen. If the question contains the answer’s first or last eight normalized characters, a blank or partial input row can pass, and the final Enter can save that incomplete answer. Check the parsed input-field value instead, while retaining the prefix/suffix allowance for wrapped or scrolled fields.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

… menu is the same menu, and a slow read is a timeout Fourth review round on #470: the PR is narrowed. - Removed: naming the question open in Codex's queue by matching the rollout's text. It gave an identical next question the answered one's name, refused twins for good, and renamed an unchanged question when the rollout caught up under an answer. The open question is told by its screen alone, as before; the call id stays only where the card's question is read with it (the collapsed queue's card, omo's form). - An option's identity after the first committing key is its whole text, label and description over every line they wrap onto: a pane narrowed under a multiple choice no longer refuses it. - The wait before a key is 1.5 s, enough for two reads of a slow herdr. Out of time with no read against the prompt answers 504 prompt_timeout and keeps the asking, so the card keeps what was written in it; prompt_changed is for a screen that differs. - Every read of that wait, with whatever it looks up, is cut off at the deadline. - A request given up during the read before alt+up opens no queue, and the wait before the first committing key stops for it again. …ld asking and server-visible repeats The maintainer's decision on #470: keep the part that passed every review and take the rest out. Removed: every look at the screen after an answer's first key that is not a move (the menu comparison, the typed text on the screen, omo's typing form, two reads apart), the 504 prompt_timeout, the agents' call ids in a prompt's identity, and their tests. From its first committing key on, an answer sends its keys as main does. Kept: - after cursor moves, one re-read before the first key that is not a move: the card's menu by its hash and the cursor on its row, else 409 prompt_changed with only up/down sent; bounded by a wall-clock wait. claude-confirm and pi-model are re-checked as before, and the tail check takes the cursor on the last row (omp's Deny, Codex's approval). - the asking held through the answer: once it ended, no further key. - the asking in the public id, for what the server sees: a read without the prompt, a committing key sent by the route, the agent back at work, a restart. - a request given up before anything irreversible sends nothing. - closeQueue is given the content id. Refs #469 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Review of 7f90f3b, five points in how askings are kept. - A working status ends an asking only once it counts: below the replay filter and the OmO guard in the collector's callback (OmO's own turn still ends its form's). - The asking is ended for a key herdr may have pressed: marked before the first key that is not a move goes out, so a lost reply leaves no old id that still answers. - The queue is closed again only by the request whose alt+up opened it, and once: a queue another client opened is left alone, as on main. - A read that began before or under an answer and comes back after it changes no asking: it shows that answer's screen, not the next prompt's. - A live asking is never dropped to make room; askings go with their panes. Refs #469 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
… may have been pressed does Last review round on #470, the asking's bookkeeping. - A read counts the pane's answers right before it reads the screen, after the snapshot: a read held up in the snapshot while an answer came and went still ends the asking its own empty screen shows. - The request that opened Codex's queue gives up closing it before the helper's own close is tried, so a close whose reply is lost is not followed by a second one into a queue another client reopened. - A first committing key that never reached herdr (the connection failed before anything was written) ends no asking: the card stays as it was. - The queue test keeps one card id through a refused and a given-up request, so a premature end of the asking would show. Adds the PR link and credit the #471 entry was missing; every other entry already carries them.
