The resize had applied each time. The test waited for size=27 91 inside one pty-data frame, and herdr sometimes draws the space as a cursor move:

• The shell now prints the size as one word (stty size | tr ' ' x), and the test waits for size=27x91.
• A RecordingSocket.waitFor timeout prints the last 20 frames it received. That output is what showed the cause.
