feat(chat): show a Letta Code pane's conversation from its own transcript - #2312
First deliverable of #1730: Chat shows a Letta Code pane's conversation, read-only, from Letta Code's own transcript store. When the pane's conversation is not proven, Chat keeps today's terminal text.
Store. letta-code 0.34.27 appends every completed turn to <config>/transcripts/<agent>/<conversation>/transcript.jsonl (appendTranscriptDeltaJsonl, on the cloud and the local backend alike). Each line is a user / assistant / reasoning / error entry, or a tool_call entry holding the call and its result.
server/letta.ts reads it into turns. It is strict: an unknown field or shape falls back to Terminal. It also serves a call's whole output by its source_line_id.
Binding (server/letta-store.ts). All of these must hold, and nothing is guessed:
herdr labels the pane letta, and herdr's Letta integration (herdr integration install letta, experimental) reported its conversation: agent_session{source: "herdr:letta", value: <conversation id> | "default:<agent id>"}. No other pane may report the same one.
The pane has exactly one foreground letta process (herdr's pane.process_info). Its own environment, read from /proc/<pid>/environ or macOS KERN_PROCARGS2, says where Letta keeps its files (LETTA_CONFIG_DIR, LETTA_TRANSCRIPT_ROOT, HOME). The Ovis server's environment is never used for this. Windows uses Terminal. The process must still be in the folder it started in: the PWD its environment keeps from its shell must be the same real path as its current folder. Letta's SetWorkingDirectory and EnterWorktree tools move a running letta into another project without recording its conversation there. A process seen outside its start folder even once is never bound again.
Letta's own record in that process's folder (.letta/settings.local.json, sessionsByServer) names the same agent and conversation, and is older than that process (by more than two seconds, for whole-second and two-second file systems), writable, and unchanged while it is read (one descriptor). Letta writes this record on start and on every /new and /resume, but skips the write when the conversation it opens is the one already recorded. So a letta that resumes the recorded conversation leaves the record older than itself, and any later write breaks the binding until letta starts again: its own switch, or another letta opening or closing, even one gone since. Nothing in the record says which process wrote it, so it never speaks for a process that started before it was written. The record is not used in the home folder (with LETTA_CONFIG_DIR Letta never rewrites it there), nor while another pane runs Letta in the same folder.
For a local-backend conversation (local-conv-<n>), the process's own local store (lc-local-backend/conversations/…/conversation.json) names that agent for it.
The transcript is a regular file at exactly the path Letta derives from those ids, reached through no link.
Why the cross-checks:
On a real run, herdr 0.9.5 keeps the first herdr:letta report of a letta process. After /new it still said default:<agent> while Letta had moved to local-conv-1. A later report (higher --seq, sent from inside the pane) was ignored; a new letta process's report is accepted.
The settings record is per folder, not per process. Both reviewers found, and I reproduced live on the first commit, that another letta writing the record could "confirm" a stale report and show another conversation. Requiring the record to predate the process closes that.
Wired as source letta-transcript beside muse-transcript: append-only stream, pages start at user entries, tool output, no metadata recorded.
Not in this PR (later PRs; #1730 stays open): sending messages from Chat, answering Letta's prompts from Chat, and session history/resume.
Known limits (documented in docs/guide.md)
Letta writes a turn only when it ends. A turn appears in Chat once done, and a cancelled one never does.
Chat binds only when letta resumes the conversation last recorded in that folder (letta, or letta --conversation <id> on that one). After /new or /resume, a start on another conversation (--new included), another letta writing the record, while another pane runs letta in that folder, in the home folder, or before a conversation's first turn on this PC ends, Chat uses Terminal until letta starts again.
Only turns Letta Code wrote on this PC show.
Tests
server/letta.test.ts (22 cases) on fixtures recorded from a real letta-code 0.34.27 run in an isolated herdr session (local backend, model via a local OpenAI-compatible proxy; paths scrubbed). It covers:
every binding rule: the stale /new report recorded on that run, record freshness, another agent's later write, malformed or missing records, the process's own store, links and dot segments;
pane → transcript through a real child process's environment. This case fails on main (no_recognized_transcript).
Live, on an Ovis server (port 0, temp state) attached to that isolated herdr session:
Bound pane → source: "letta-transcript" with the recorded turns, the store read from the letta process's environment (the server had no LETTA_* set).
After /new → scrollback.
Two panes reporting one conversation → both scrollback.
The review's leak scenario (pane on local-conv-2 with a stale local-conv-1 report, another letta then opened and left local-conv-1): the first commit's code showed local-conv-1's turns; this head answers scrollback.
bun run check fast on the pushed head: green (8419 pass). One earlier run failed scripts/install-node-fallback.test.ts "kills what a hung host started" (untouched by this PR; passed 29/0 alone and on the rerun), a load-sensitive case.
Reviews
Two adversarial reviewers, four rounds (omo-native-code-reviewer and Codex Sol 6.1 Fast xhigh):
Round 1 (a0c854f8), both BLOCK.
HIGH: Letta's settings record is shared by every letta in the folder, so another letta's write could confirm a stale herdr report. I reproduced this live: the first commit showed another conversation's turns.
HIGH: the store came from the server's environment instead of the pane's process.
HIGH: a malformed project record fell back to global settings.
MEDIUM: dot segments and symlinks were followed; tool refs could exceed the output route's limit.
LOW: unknown fields were dropped; a looping link gave HTTP 500; an unwritten file showed an empty chat.
Fixed in 2a92b33e: the pane's own process and environment, record freshness, project record only, strict parsing, no links, a field whitelist, and Terminal when the file is missing.
Round 2 (2a92b33e), both BLOCK.
HIGH: the home folder with LETTA_CONFIG_DIR set (Letta never rewrites that record).
HIGH: a peer letta pane in the same folder.
Fixed in c2cd2714; window narrowed to 15 s.
Round 3 (c2cd2714): omo APPROVE; Codex BLOCK.
Codex HIGH: a closed peer pane's /new record could still name its own local-conv-1. Fixed in a56f2b90: a local conversation's agent must be the one the process's own local store names. Letta keys local conversations by id alone and never reuses one, verified in its source.
omo's LOWs fixed in 31f0c933: refuse a letta with no HOME, a symlinked peer in the test, the guard covered where it is called, docs wording.
Round 4 (a56f2b90, the head): Codex APPROVE, no findings.
HIGH: the 15 s startup window still let a closed same-agent peer that reopened the pane's old conversation restore it. Fixed in e9870f9: the record must be older than the process. Reproduced live after the fix: A on a stale local-conv-1 report; B opened local-conv-2, then local-conv-1, and closed; A answers scrollback.
HIGH: after /new, SetWorkingDirectory moved letta into another project whose older record named the conversation it had left.
MEDIUM: two-second (FAT) mtimes.
Fixed in 6a7bd8e: start-folder rule and a 2 s margin.
Reproduced live with real letta, the model calling SetWorkingDirectory: f802c42 showed local-conv-1's turns while letta was on local-conv-4; this head answers scrollback.
Remaining LOWs, not blocking (accepted limits):
A letta that leaves its start folder and returns before Ovis looks at it again.
A letta launched by a non-shell parent whose PWD is stale and equal to the folder it later moves into.
herdr restores a pane with its last herdr:letta report after a session restart even with no letta running; until that pane is closed, another pane reporting the same conversation uses Terminal.
A wall-clock step (not NTP's slewing) between the record write and the process start can reorder their times.
A write Letta could not make for another reason (a full disk) leaves the old record standing.
Unrelated settings writes drop Chat to Terminal until letta restarts.
TOOL_REF is duplicated in server/letta.ts.
A letta started as node --flag letta.js is not recognised (Terminal).
… fresh record
Review: a settings record another letta wrote could confirm a stale herdr report; the store came from the server's environment; links and unknown fields were followed. Refs #1730
Chat can display Letta Code conversations from Letta’s transcript on Linux and macOS when the conversation can be reliably matched to the pane. If matching is unavailable or ambiguous, Chat continues to show terminal text.
Letta transcript support is experimental and read-only. Completed turns appear after Letta writes them; cancelled turns are not displayed. Windows continues to use terminal text.
Documentation
Updated the supported agents guide with Letta Code availability and transcript display behavior.
Letta Code panes can use a read-only transcript source on Linux and macOS when pane, process, and Letta records match. Chat parses transcript turns and tool results. When resolution checks fail, Chat uses terminal text; Windows continues to use Terminal.
Adds transcript validation and parsing, user-turn detection, and tool-output lookup. The recognized source and metadata handling accept Letta transcripts; the protocol response source union remains unchanged. Fixtures and tests cover parsing, paging, and tool outputs.
Bind transcript to a Letta pane server/letta-store.ts, server/fixtures/letta/local-conversation-0.34.27.json, server/fixtures/letta/settings.local-0.34.27.json, server/letta.test.ts
Resolves a transcript only when pane session, process, project settings, transcript path, and any required local-store record pass validation. Tests cover binding, ownership, and rejection cases.
Route Letta transcripts through Chat server/conversation.ts, docs/guide.md, changelog.d/letta-native-chat.md
Routes eligible Letta panes to their transcript, maps unsupported transcript data to an unavailable-conversation error, and retrieves bounded tool output. Documentation describes the platform support and terminal fallback.
devswha/ovis#1730 — The change adds a read-only Letta transcript source bound to a Letta Code pane’s session.

Merge Risk: Low · up to 6a7bd
On Linux, a clock adjustment can allow a returned Letta pane to show a stale conversation instead of terminal text. This is a narrow risk, but the folder guard should use a stable process identity.

Merging 6a7bd8e (refs #1730, the owner's feature; its first step). Chat now reads a Letta Code pane's own transcript, read-only, and binds only when herdr reports letta, the pane has a single letta process (its environment locates the store), the process is still in the folder it started in, that folder's Letta record is older than the process by more than 2 s, and the local store agrees; otherwise the pane stays Terminal. Fixtures are real letta-code 0.34.27 files. The merge pass reviewed it as a new native reader over three rounds (after the lane's four). Fixed on the way: a closed same-agent peer's record within a startup window, a working-directory change after /new, and 2-second filesystem timestamps (FAT). Known limits, accepted by the owner (Ovis cannot prove which conversation Letta is on; only Letta knows): (1) a stale PWD, e.g. Letta started with env -C project1 while PWD names project 2: after /new in project 1 and a move to project 2, project 2's older record can bind; (2) an unobserved excursion: start in project 1 on conversation 1, move to project 2, /new, come back to project 1, all without a read in between; the memory of having moved is also lost on a server restart or after 256 moved processes. In both, Chat can show the earlier conversation while the pane is on a newer one; the Terminal view stays the truth. Both were reproduced with real child working-directory and environment changes and mocked herdr facts, not a full Letta TUI run. The owner will try it himself. 233 tests, typecheck clean; omo and Codex APPROVE on the lane's rounds; check fast green. Follow-up: #2314. The one browser failure on the first CI attempt (the OpenCode @ menu case of agent-skill-menu-demo-regression.ts, untouched here) passed on its rerun.
…r its transcript (#2327)
## Problem
The owner, testing #2312 on the main test app: a Letta Code pane's chat
does not look live the way OmO's does.
## Root cause (measured, not a parse bug)
Letta Code appends a turn to its `transcript.jsonl` only when the turn
ends (`end_turn`, on both the TUI and headless paths in letta-code's
bundle). It writes nothing while it works, and a cancelled turn is never
written. I measured this with real letta 0.34.23 in an isolated herdr
session (local backend, a model through a local OpenAI-compatible
proxy), with ms-resolution watchers on the files, herdr's status and
Ovis's `/api/pane/conversation`:
- A 6.6 s turn (prompt, Bash tool call, 300-word answer) wrote the
transcript **0 times while working**, then once at the end (3 entries
sharing one `captured_at`).
- Ovis showed that write **71 ms** later (2 → 4 turns), so the chat sat
on the previous turn for the whole run and then jumped.
- Letta writes the turn about **120 ms before** herdr flips the pane
from `working` to `idle`.
- Parsing: all 5 raw entries of the run were shown, and nothing was
dropped.
- OmO, by contrast, appends one record per message or tool result while
it works (17+ writes during one turn), which is why its chat looks live.
Only the terminal shows a Letta turn while it runs. (Letta's local
backend also keeps a `messages.jsonl` that is written per message, but a
cloud agent, which the owner runs, has none.)
## Change (client only, no HTTP/WS contract change)
While a `letta-transcript` pane is `working` or `blocked`, the
transcript's turns stay on screen, and under them a quiet **Live
terminal** box shows the pane's own terminal tail:
- It reads `GET /api/pane/read` every second, 60 lines, with no parsing
and no guessing.
- It has a fixed height of 12 rows (8 rows under 480 px) from mount and
follows its newest line, unless the reader has scrolled up inside it.
- It carries `aria-live="off"` so the chat's live region does not
announce terminal noise, and it is keyboard-focusable.
- **No scroll jump:** the box goes in the same render that adds the
written turn, not a frame later when herdr's status follows. Its
baseline (`nextLiveTurnArm`) is the transcript returned by the first
read that started after the turn began. A cached answer, a hidden page
or an offline chat never serves as the baseline: hidden or offline, the
box re-arms when the chat is back.
Design: the Codex and Claude apps stream the running turn into the
conversation, but nothing written exists to stream here. So this follows
Zed's agent panel, which shows a running command's terminal inline in
the thread (DESIGN.md entry). A server-side terminal stand-in
(scrollback while working) was built and tried first. It swapped the
whole history out on every turn and came back mid-scroll, so it was
dropped.
## Verification
- **Real letta in the browser** (isolated herdr, Ovis on loopback with
port and state under a temp dir, Bun.WebView at 1280 and 390, dark
theme, Codex palette): before/after screenshots of a turn mid-work and
right after. The owner checks the look before merge.
- **Per-frame scroll logs:**
- Scrolled up 600 px: the reading anchor and scrollTop stayed constant
on every frame as the box appeared and went away.
- Pinned at the end: one follow frame when the box mounts, no growth
after, and the box goes in the frame the turn arrives.
- Before the arm fix, the box vanished ~120 ms after the turn appeared,
a 240 px drop.
- **Coming back mid-turn** (Tab 2 while turn N finished and N+1 started,
then back to Tab 1): the box stayed for N+1. The first commit's logic
hid it for the whole turn.
- **Tests:** `src/components/ChatLiveTurn.test.ts` covers the arm as
reducer sequences (turn written before the status follows, a cached
transcript, reads started before the run, re-arming after hidden or
offline, and per pane and per turn), plus the box's markup. It fails on
main (the exports do not exist), and the cached-then-fresh sequence
gives `[true, false, false, false]` under the first commit's logic. 41 pass
in the chat and conventions files; `bun run typecheck` is green.
- `bun run check fast` on this head (9df5230): green, 8456 pass, 0
fail, 34 skip.
## Reviews
Adversarial reviewers omo-native-code-reviewer and Codex Sol 6.1 Fast
xhigh:
- **Round 1 (first commit): both BLOCK.**
- HIGH: a stale or cached baseline hid the box for the whole turn.
- HIGH/MEDIUM: the box's height grew after mount and was not followed at
the end of the chat.
- MEDIUM: the box was re-announced every second, and each poll yanked
the inner scroll back.
- MEDIUM: the tests restated helpers.
- All fixed.
- **Round 2: omo APPROVE; Codex BLOCK.** HIGH: an armed baseline
survived a turn boundary missed while backgrounded or offline. Fixed by
re-arming when the chat is hidden or offline.
- **Round 3 (Codex, this head 9df5230): APPROVE**, no findings.
## Known limits
- Letta's `mod_continue` starts a second turn with no non-working status
between; that continuation shows no box (the chat's Working line stays).
- A turn so short that Letta writes it before the first read after it
began can show twice for about 120 ms, until herdr's status follows.
- ChatView itself is not mounted in a test: the arm logic is a pure
reducer, and its three-line wiring is covered by the browser runs.
Refs #1730
## Problem
The owner tried #2327 on the main test app and prefers not to see its
**Live terminal** box in a Letta Code chat. What he wants instead is
Letta's in-progress messages appearing in the chat as they are written,
the way OmO, Codex and Claude Code look. That is being measured
separately, from Letta's own chunk logs, and is not guessed from the
terminal.
## Change
`git revert` of e5ed425 (#2327), client only, with no HTTP/WS contract
change:
- `ChatView` no longer mounts a live `TerminalFallback` under a running
`letta-transcript` turn. The live-turn arm (`nextLiveTurnArm`,
`liveTurnShown`, `turnOnlyInTerminal`) and its read counters are gone.
- `src/lib/lettaScreen.ts`, its fixtures and tests, the `.is-live` CSS
and the "Live terminal" chat strings are removed.
- `DESIGN.md`, `docs/guide.md` and the unreleased
`changelog.d/letta-native-chat.md` fragment are back to their wording
from before #2327. No release carried the box (no `v*` tag contains
e5ed425), so there is no separate changelog entry for removing it.
While Letta works, its chat shows the turns written so far and the usual
Working line. The turn appears when Letta writes it at the end, as it
did after #2312.
#2327 carried no unrelated fix: every line it changed served the box.
The one later commit on these files, ae3f080 (#2270, the faded
sent-waiting bubble), is kept intact.
## Verification
- **Real letta in the browser.** I used an isolated herdr session under
a temp HOME, letta 0.34.23 on its local backend with
gemini-3.1-flash-lite, and two Ovis servers on loopback (origin/main and
this branch) with their state in temp dirs, driven by Bun.WebView at
1280 px. The turn ran a Bash command and then wrote a 250-word story.
- Mid-turn, origin/main shows the Live terminal box under the turns.
- Mid-turn, this branch shows only `Working…` and no
`.chat-terminal-fallback`.
- After the turn, this branch shows the written turn:
`/api/pane/conversation` returns `letta-transcript` with 4 turns, and
the story is on screen.
- `bun run check fast` on 0eabe74: typecheck, build and unit tests are
all ok.
- No regression test was added. Nothing mounts ChatView in a unit test,
and the removed tests covered only the removed code. The browser
comparison is the before/after proof.
## Reviews
- omo-native-code-reviewer: **APPROVE**, no CRITICAL/HIGH/MEDIUM
findings. It confirmed the exact inverse of #2327, #2270 preserved, no
dangling references and accurate docs. Its LOW note: one combined run of
the conventions/i18n test files failed 1 of 80 and passed on a rerun and
on each file alone. check fast was green.
- Codex Sol 6.1 Fast xhigh: **APPROVE**, no findings (428 tests across
16 related files, typecheck green).

## Change
Letta Code panes (agent kind `letta`, offered since #1815, Chat in
#2312) drew the fallback mark: the
initial "L" in a disc, in the sidebar, the agent picker, the pane title
and the composer.
This adds `letta` to `AGENT_SVG_MARKS`. The glyph is the vector path of
Letta's own favicon
(https://docs.letta.com/favicon.svg), rounded to one decimal like the
other marks, on the blue tile
(`#0707AC`) with the grey glyph (`#C9CDD1`) of Letta's app icon, at the
same proportion (glyph half the
tile). It carries brand fills, so Settings → Appearance → Agent logos →
Mono greys it like the others.
- `src/components/agentSvgMarks.ts`: the `letta` entry, and its source
in the header comment.
- `THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md`: letta joins droid and maki as a mark that
does not come from LobeHub Icons.
- `src/components/AgentMark.test.tsx`: letta is among the marks with
brand colors.
- `changelog.d/letta-agent-mark.md`.
Part of #1730.
## Validation
- `bun run check fast` on these files: workflow syntax, generated types
and themes, typecheck, build, unit
(8877 pass, 0 fail, 35 skip) and actionlint all ok. That run was
invalidated only because the commit
was made while it ran (same file contents); a rerun on the committed
tree follows below.
- Rendered with the Vite client against a herdr 0.9.5 server with nine
Letta Code panes: every Letta row,
the pane title and the composer drew the new mark (14
`.agent-mark.letta`, no fallback initial), no
page errors. Checked at 16 px and 64 px.
…le start (#3093)
Refs #2314 (the CodeRabbit follow-up from #2312 in its first comment).
Does not close it.
## What
`lettaInStartFolder` remembers letta processes it has seen outside the
folder they started in, so one that moved and came back is never bound
to its start folder's record again. It keyed that memory on
`processStartLowerBound`, which is `min(btime-based start,
wall-clock-minus-uptime start) - 10 ms`: the second reading follows the
wall clock, so after the clock is stepped back it wins the `min` and
differs between lookups. The same process then gets a new key, the
memory misses, and the pane binds again (case 2 of #2314 without any
server restart).
The key is now `processStartIdentity` (new in
`server/process-start.ts`): on Linux the start in ticks after boot from
`/proc/<pid>/stat`, which no clock change moves (`/proc/stat`'s `btime`
is `getboottime64()`, which follows `clock_settime`, so
`processStartedAt` would move too; Codex review), and on macOS the
kernel's stored start record. It also needs no `/proc/stat`. `startedAt`
stays the lower bound for the record-age check, which needs it.
## Why not the real fix from #2314
Binding Letta Chat from a reported fact still needs one that does not
exist yet:
- herdr 0.9.5 is still the latest release, and herdr main (`ee5bfb5`,
2026-10-29) still leaves `herdr:letta` out of
`session_report_allows_session_replacement`, so a later `/new` /
`/resume` report from the same process is ignored (the upstream fix
`d6ab6f7e` has not landed).
- herdr-core has no Letta integration.
- Letta Code 0.34.41 (latest on npm) keeps no per-process record of its
open conversation; the only pid-bearing lock naming a conversation is
`letta-enter.lock`, written only by EnterWorktree.
## Validation
- Failing first: the new rows in `server/letta.test.ts` ("seen
elsewhere") failed on main (`Expected: false, Received: true`) and pass
with the change.
- `bun test server/letta.test.ts`: 28 pass.
- `bun run check fast`: ok (workflow syntax, generated types/themes,
typecheck, build, unit tests 12524 pass / 0 fail, actionlint)
- Not run: full integration/browser suites (server-only change to one
helper).

Change
First deliverable of #1730: Chat shows a Letta Code pane's conversation, read-only, from Letta Code's own transcript store. When the pane's conversation is not proven, Chat keeps today's terminal text.
Store. letta-code 0.34.27 appends every completed turn to
<config>/transcripts/<agent>/<conversation>/transcript.jsonl(appendTranscriptDeltaJsonl, on the cloud and the local backend alike). Each line is a user / assistant / reasoning / error entry, or atool_callentry holding the call and its result.server/letta.tsreads it into turns. It is strict: an unknown field or shape falls back to Terminal. It also serves a call's whole output by itssource_line_id.Binding (
server/letta-store.ts). All of these must hold, and nothing is guessed:letta, and herdr's Letta integration (herdr integration install letta, experimental) reported its conversation:agent_session{source: "herdr:letta", value: <conversation id> | "default:<agent id>"}. No other pane may report the same one.pane.process_info). Its own environment, read from/proc/<pid>/environor macOSKERN_PROCARGS2, says where Letta keeps its files (LETTA_CONFIG_DIR,LETTA_TRANSCRIPT_ROOT,HOME). The Ovis server's environment is never used for this. Windows uses Terminal. The process must still be in the folder it started in: thePWDits environment keeps from its shell must be the same real path as its current folder. Letta's SetWorkingDirectory and EnterWorktree tools move a running letta into another project without recording its conversation there. A process seen outside its start folder even once is never bound again..letta/settings.local.json,sessionsByServer) names the same agent and conversation, and is older than that process (by more than two seconds, for whole-second and two-second file systems), writable, and unchanged while it is read (one descriptor). Letta writes this record on start and on every/newand/resume, but skips the write when the conversation it opens is the one already recorded. So a letta that resumes the recorded conversation leaves the record older than itself, and any later write breaks the binding until letta starts again: its own switch, or another letta opening or closing, even one gone since. Nothing in the record says which process wrote it, so it never speaks for a process that started before it was written. The record is not used in the home folder (withLETTA_CONFIG_DIRLetta never rewrites it there), nor while another pane runs Letta in the same folder.local-conv-<n>), the process's own local store (lc-local-backend/conversations/…/conversation.json) names that agent for it.Why the cross-checks:
herdr:lettareport of a letta process. After/newit still saiddefault:<agent>while Letta had moved tolocal-conv-1. A later report (higher--seq, sent from inside the pane) was ignored; a new letta process's report is accepted.Wired as source
letta-transcriptbesidemuse-transcript: append-only stream, pages start at user entries, tool output, no metadata recorded. Not in this PR (later PRs; #1730 stays open): sending messages from Chat, answering Letta's prompts from Chat, and session history/resume.
Known limits (documented in docs/guide.md)
lettaresumes the conversation last recorded in that folder (letta, orletta --conversation <id>on that one). After/newor/resume, a start on another conversation (--newincluded), another letta writing the record, while another pane runs letta in that folder, in the home folder, or before a conversation's first turn on this PC ends, Chat uses Terminal until letta starts again.Tests
