feat(composer): reorder queued messages on web and mobile - #28440
- Add queued-run.reorder with beforeRunId placement helper
- Web: up/down controls on queued rows; mobile: Move up/down in long-press menu
- Document queue reordering in composer user docs
Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — Adds web and mobile controls for explicitly moving queued messages earlier or later. The controls use the existing server-validated reorder operation without changing default queue behavior.
You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Learn more.
Queued messages can now be moved earlier or later in web, desktop, and mobile interfaces. The client runtime resolves the destination position and dispatches a reorder command.
A new helper resolves the run ID that precedes the destination, or returns null to place a run at the end. A serialized thread command dispatches the reorder operation. Tests cover placement and command dispatch.
Add web queue movement controls apps/web/src/components/chat/QueuedRunsControl.tsx, apps/web/src/components/chat/QueuedRunsControl.browser.test.tsx, docs/user/composer.md
Web queue rows provide move-earlier and move-later controls. The browser test checks moving the first of two runs to the end. The composer documentation describes the movement controls.
Add mobile queue movement actions apps/mobile/src/features/threads/ThreadQueueControl.tsx, apps/mobile/src/features/threads/threadQueueControlPresentation.ts, apps/mobile/src/features/threads/threadQueueControlPresentation.test.ts
Mobile queue menus provide Move up and Move down actions. The controls account for queue boundaries and disable both directions while the thread is busy. Tests cover movement availability.

Rapid successive moves can produce an unintended order. Waiting for the queue to update avoids the timing window.

Explanation
The title clearly names the main change: reordering queued messages on web and mobile. It uses a conventional commit prefix. It matches the changeset, which adds move up and move down controls through QueuedRunsControl, ThreadQueueControl, and the queued-run.reorder command. The title is specific and concise.

Explanation
The description gives a clear summary of the reorder feature, a demo GIF, and a test plan. It misses several template requirements. The title is not a conventional commit title in the template's form, though it is close. The Scope and approval section is absent: there is no linked triaged issue or maintainer-approved discussion, and no justification for skipping one. The Problem section is absent, so the expected behavior and reproduction steps are not stated. The Verification section has unchecked items and no reported results. The test plan says tests may be skipped in favor of CI. The description does not state the model and harness used, and the template asks for that when an agent did the work. The author used Cursor, which is noted in the footer, but the template's instruction to name the model and harness is not met. The UI change has a GIF, which partly meets the screenshot requirement, but no before/after screenshots are shown.
Resolution
Add a Problem section that states the expected behavior and the steps to reproduce the lack of reordering. Add a Scope and approval section that links the triaged issue or the maintainer-approved discussion, including the approval comment. Add a Verification section with the focused tests you ran and their observed results. Name any changed behavior you could not check. Add before/after screenshots for the web and mobile UI changes, not only the GIF. Add the model and harness that did the work, because the template requires it when an agent was used. Rework the Change section to explain how the client-runtime, web, and mobile changes fix one problem and why they must ship together.

The vi.mock factory reads commandMocks.reorderQueuedRun, but setup() does not reset it. Move this mockClear() call into setup() so every test starts with isolated mock state. As per coding guidelines, “Shared mock state that vi.mock factories read is reset by a setup() call at the top of the test.”

Move the reorderQueuedRun mock reset into the setup() function so each test
begins with isolated state for the shared commandMocks spy used by the vi.mock
factory.

Verified unchanged head 9c6a10a5c6d8f39d516d7dc57fcb365f1e756e1c on a Linux Boat VM with repo Playwright and /usr/bin/google-chrome.
Installed and ran github/main (955e2bfbb5) in a separate worktree first. Created the project, thread, and real Codex gpt-6.1-sol turns through the web app. While a terminal sleep turn ran, queued ALPHA and BETA with Ctrl+Enter. Main had no reorder controls.
Stopped main before running the exact PR head. Reused a copy of the app-created state. Move up changed ALPHA/BETA to BETA/ALPHA; the order survived reload. Move down restored it. First-up and last-down were disabled. A single queued message showed no move controls.
Edited ALPHA to ALPHA EDITED, moved BETA first, and resumed. The real Codex provider consumed and answered BETA, then ALPHA EDITED, in that order. Queue removal retained the other messages.
During another real Codex turn, moved the first of three messages into the middle, then the last into the middle, then to the front. Recording shows ONE/TWO/THREE becoming THREE/TWO/ONE. Codex then consumed and answered THREE, TWO, ONE in that order.
Blacksmith: 46 focused client-runtime/mobile presentation tests and 4 web queue browser tests passed. The browser worker initially lacked Chromium; installed it and reran successfully. Existing CI reports 31 successful checks. No source changes or pushes were needed.

Native iOS/Android long-press menus and Electron shell were not exercised on this Linux VM. Other providers, remote/relay connections, and simultaneous edits from multiple clients were not exercised. Mobile presentation tests passed, but they do not prove native interaction.

Upstream stack top: pingdotgg#28845 at ada1a8b
Squash of the six-PR stack onto Baton main. Redesign wins on look and structure; Baton and adopted-PR features are ported into it. Non-trivial conflict decisions:
- Shared right-panel width (pingdotgg#22256): the redesign has no per-thread resizable panel (right panel is embedded in workspace panes), so the Settings row, search entry and reset entries are removed. sharedPanelWidth stays in the contracts schema, inert.
- persistComposerContextStrip dropped, following the redesign.
- Queued-run reorder (pingdotgg#28440): web UI uses the redesign's drag handle and arrow keys over the same reorderQueuedRun command; our up/down buttons are gone. Mobile unchanged.
- Transcript view (pingdotgg#27031): ported into the redesign's turn-fold model (turnFoldStartsOpen/withTurnFoldOpen take transcriptStartsOpen). The old "interrupted run opens its fold" rule is superseded by the redesign's failed/limited rule.
- Thread details stay closed (pingdotgg#25598): ThreadPanelVisibility.inlineOpen stays optional; workspace panes pass threadDetailsOpenByDefault.
- Mention index (pingdotgg#31201): jira/figma/issue item types and the Figma card grid ported into the redesign's grouped composer menu. Classic # menu shows threads only with the mention index off.
- Usage page (pingdotgg#15902): keeps UsageExplorer and range picker; the redesign's UsageOverview is dropped.
- Settings: Authorized clients/Pairing sections from the redesign, with the multi-environment access picker kept; keybindings grouping (list.* prefix) is gone with the redesign, list.* commands get flat labels.
- Baton identity: wordmark in standalone-page header dropped (element removed upstream); brand-width probe, labels and telemetry notice kept; microphone usage string branded.
- Diff header collapse toggle is no longer disabled for pending files; GitActionsControl shows the base label inside the redesign's summary row; the native title tooltip on it was dropped for lint.
- Lint conversions of Baton code to the redesign's rules: text roles instead of raw sizes, Button/Select instead of hand-styled controls, no " · " joined strings in usage and mention labels.
- Voice/speech: VoiceTranscriptionError and speech stream decode moved to the repo's Schema.TaggedError / Effect forms.
- pnpm-lock.yaml regenerated with pnpm install.
