feat(gitcafe): request reviewers and apply labels on GitCafe pull requests - #23034
Conversation
…uests GitCafe pull requests now support reviewer requests and labels. The PR detail view also shows reviewers and labels, which it never did: a single pull request read from GitCafe carries neither, so they are read from their own endpoints. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
ApprovabilityVerdict: Needs Human Approval Macroscope's review found this PR requires human approval — This PR enables GitCafe reviewer requests and label management by adding new reads, whole-list writes, and UI permission exposure on existing pull requests. It also changes GitCafe’s default advertised capabilities, so the runtime and product-default impact warrants human review. You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Learn more. |

`${path}/reviewers` due to missing reviewer authority does not fail the entire
pull request detail response. Handle the reviewer request separately while
preserving pull request and label data for credentials with only contents-read
access.
- Around line 273-275: Update the Effect.all operation in the pull/list flow so
readPull(operation, input) completes before readPages(operation, input,
`${path}/${list.name}`, Listed) begins. Preserve the existing inputs and
concurrency options only as compatible with this sequencing, ensuring
toggleListed uses a pull version fetched after the list read and retains
expectedVersion protection.

A toggle read the pull request's version and its list at the same time, so a change landing between the two could be overwritten without a conflict. The version is now read first. The detail view no longer fails for a token without `pr:review:read`: it shows no reviewers instead. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

The detail view treated any reviewer read failure as "no reviewers", including a GitCafe outage. Only a 403, the missing `pr:review:read` scope, falls back now; anything else fails the read. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

git.cafe reports merge conflicts as "none" and "pending" as well as the documented "unknown" and "conflicting". The driver accepted only the documented two, so a pull request without conflicts failed to open with "GitCafe returned an unreadable response". Any state is now read; "none" shows as mergeable and unknown states as unknown. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

listReviewerCandidatesruns when the pull request is open and editable, but GitCafe requirespr:reviewers:writefor/reviewer-candidatesandpr:review:readfor/reviewers. A viewer can pass the current guard and still receive HTTP 403. UnlikegetChangeRequest, this method has no 403 handling, so reviewer controls can fail while detail loading succeeds. Gate this operation on permissions that cover both endpoints, or handle forbidden responses without exposing unusable controls.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

…iewers Reviewer controls show for anyone who may edit the pull request, but the candidate list and reviewer writes also need pr:review:read and pr:reviewers:write. A token without them got GitCafe's bare refusal; it now gets an error naming the scopes. GitCafe offers no way to read a token's scopes up front. Effect.catchIffor the 403 structural check. Both places call

toggleListedreads the pull version first and then the list, and the PUT sendsexpectedVersion. This keeps the write version-fenced. The 403 fallback for reviewers ingetChangeRequestis intentional and was already discussed in earlier review threads. I do not raise it again.♻️ Proposed refactor

\\host\share path, was classified as a host file. Rendering it asked the server for a signed asset URL, and the server's realpath on the resulting UNC path made Windows open an SMB session and send the user's NetNTLMv2 response to the attacker's host, with no click and no tool call. File-link chips did the same through filesystem.getMetadata, which stats every absolute path, and storage cleanup stats the store paths in a worktree's pnpm manifest, which an agent can write. Network paths (two leading separators, as Windows reads them: \\h, //h, /\h) now only resolve inside the thread's project, so projects on a share keep working: - clients block them in markdown images and stop treating them as file links - the web stops asking for their metadata - the server refuses them for media assets and file reads outside the project, never stats one for metadata, and storage cleanup ignores a pnpm manifest that names one - each check hands the filesystem the resolved path it approved, since Windows reads a `\\?\` path as written, `..` included Co-authored-by: Claude Opus GitCafe pull requests couldn't request reviewers or apply labels from T3 Code, although GitCafe's API supports both. The PR detail view also never showed a GitCafe PR's reviewers or labels: GitCafe's single pull request read carries neither field (only the list response does), so they always came back empty.
This turns on
labelsandreviewersfor the GitCafe driver:/pulls/{pr}/reviewersand/pulls/{pr}/labelsalongside its other reads./reviewer-candidates, without the PR author. GitCafe bots are marked as bots.PUTreplaces the whole reviewer or label list, so one toggle reads the list, changes it, and writes it back fenced on the pull request's version. A concurrent change fails the toggle instead of being overwritten.pr:review:readgets a 403 on the reviewer read; the detail then shows no reviewers instead of failing. Any other error still fails the read.It also fixes GitCafe pull requests failing to open with "GitCafe returned an unreadable response". git.cafe reports
merge.conflictsasnoneandpendingas well as the documentedunknownandconflicting, and the driver rejected the undocumented two. Any state is now read:noneshows as mergeable, unrecognized states as unknown. The web and mobile clients already gate these controls on the capability and permission flags, so no client or contract changes were needed. The user guide drops reviewers and labels from GitCafe's missing features; line comments are the one left.
Verified with the package's provider tests. The read endpoints were checked against git.cafe; writes were not exercised against a live PR.
