feat(clients): add T3 Code as an export and integration client - #7529
Adds T3 Code as the 21st export and managed-integration client (t3code).
T3 Code drives the Codex and Claude Code CLIs already installed on a machine. Its Codex threads already route through opencodex with no change: T3 Code lists Codex models through codex app-server, which reads the routed catalog opencodex injects into CODEX_HOME. This PR adds the Claude side.
What gets written. One fragment, providerInstances.opencodex, in T3 Code's server settings at $T3CODE_HOME/userdata/settings.json (default ~/.t3/userdata/settings.json). T3 Code watches that file, so no restart is needed. The value is a claudeAgent provider instance named opencodex:
environment mirrors a proxy-mode ocx claude launch on a loopback bind: ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL = proxy origin (no /v1; Claude Code appends /v1/messages), ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN = the non-secret PROXY_MARKER, an explicitly empty ANTHROPIC_API_KEY (T3 Code's documented router recipe), and CLAUDE_CODE_PROVIDER_MANAGED_BY_HOST=1, so a settings.json env block in the user's Claude config can't re-point it.
Every variable is written sensitive: false on purpose. T3 Code moves sensitive values into its secret store and blanks them in the file, which would turn our own block into a foreign edit. None of these values is a credential.
config.customModels holds one { slug, name } per normalized export model, Fast rows included. The slug is the proxy selector, which T3 Code passes verbatim as the Claude model id.
Contract.
Loopback-only like Qoder: export and apply refuse a listener that needs an admission header, and ocx export --client t3code asks the live /api/client-config route.
Owned-catalog refresh in ocx sync, /api/sync and catalog refresh includes T3 Code.
T3CODE_HOME is honored for path and detection; relative values are refused.
No refreshable paths are declared. If a user edits our instance in T3 Code's UI, the switch shows a conflict instead of overwriting the edit, and Replace restores the block.
Touchpoints follow the Qoder (#5950) and Gentle Shell landings:
builder src/clients/config-export/t3code.ts
EXPORT_CLIENTS, INTEGRATION_CLIENTS and the managed-path template
CLI and GUI plan decoders, sync fan-outs, CLI help/registry
the keyless-export gate in model-routes.ts, with the nested ternary replaced by a label lookup
GUI tab, route and marks
i18n in all 11 locales; T3 Code stays untranslated in the fr/zh-TW allowlists
docs-site guide section, structure/clients/t3code.md plus manifest entry
The dashboard mark is T3 Code's own MIT-licensed assets/prod/logo.svg, committed byte for byte with provenance in gui/public/provider-icons/README.md. It's a plated two-ink mark, so it's drawn as an image, not masked.
The translated docs-site guides were already behind the English source (the French one still says eighteen clients and lacks Gentle Shell and Qoder), so only the English guide is updated here.
Verification
bun run typecheck and the GUI tsc --noEmit: clean.
bun run lint:gui, bun run privacy:scan, bun run structure:check, bun run skill:surface:check: pass.
bun run test:changed (pinned Bun 1.4.3): 18668 pass / 33 skip / 0 fail across 763 files.
Focused backend set on the rebased head, including the new tests/clients/t3code-client.test.ts, the roster/layout/ratchet/structure guards and cli-export-command: 520 pass / 0 fail.
tests/gui/integrations-invariants.test.ts: the routed-tab filter regex was [a-z-]+, which silently skipped any client id containing a digit. It is now [a-z0-9-]+, so t3code is checked like every other client.
End-to-end smoke against real binaries, with isolated T3CODE_HOME/CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR and the real catalog from a running proxy:
applyIntegration wrote the instance and kept a seeded codex_personal instance intact.
The real claude 2.1.308 CLI, run with exactly the generated environment and --model openrouter/deepseek-deepseek-v4.1-flash-1017, answered T3-OK. The proxy logged a messages request routed to openrouter, status 200.
A real t3 server (v0.1.2-nightly.20261021) on that base dir loaded the instance. t3 thread start --provider opencodex --model openrouter/… --wait returned T3-THREAD-OK via the proxy (200).
After T3 Code had run, our block was byte-identical (no secret-store rewrite or normalization), and refresh and disable then succeeded, leaving the user's instance in place.
ocx integration client status/enable --client t3code against a live isolated proxy: absent → ok, and the dashboard tab shows Applied with the rollback row.
Light and dark dashboard (Connect → T3 Code, after enable):
Full bun run test (pinned Bun 1.4.3, rebased head 470d7ac19): 50908 pass / 122 skip / 1 fail across 2551 files. The one failure, tests/claude-integration/claude-desktop-remote-hub.test.ts › connected Desktop uses hub IDs across a cold restart (stored profile=false), is pre-existing on dev. It reproduces deterministically on a clean origin/dev worktree (1025acd4b) with this branch absent. The assertion compares the Desktop snapshot's native-GPT row order against the applied profile, and those rows come back in a different order. That's unrelated to client export, and nothing in this diff reaches it.
CodeRabbit's three findings are answered in-thread. The CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR concern was tested against a real cached claude.ai login and does not reproduce: the instance environment still routed to the proxy (200).
Not run locally: the macOS/Windows CI lanes.

Maintainer validation (head 7450ce463)
7450ce463 is a normal merge of dev into the round-3 PASS head ce91ee1d1. Its PR CI (ci:full) was green: Cross-platform CI 40566030388, Catalog async contracts 40566030132, React Doctor 40566030151.
Review round 1 found a drive-less Windows T3CODE_HOME blocker. It was fixed in 0a486b016; the regressions fail before the fix. The 11-locale Codex-routing copy became conditional in 3f114be92.
Rounds 2 and 3, and round 4 (the delta review at 7450ce463) passed with 0 blocking. The owned-refresh lists keep both hermes and t3code, and the layout registrations are unions.
Local checks on 7450ce463 (Bun 1.4.4): T3, CLI dispatch/capabilities, sync, export, integration invariants and layout/ratchet gave 404/0. Typecheck, structure:check, skill:surface:check and privacy:scan pass.
The merge waits for green PR CI on 7450ce463.
Follow-up (non-blocking): the shared refresh-list sentences in the integrations guide and structure/runtime.md are already partial lists; T3 Code is not named there.
Review readiness checklist
This PR stays in draft until every box below is ticked. Tick all four boxes once the requirements are met:
Required local validation passed; commands, results, and any full-suite exception are documented.
I pushed my PR to a recent dev commit (at most 10 behind; a maintainer may still ask for the exact tip before merge).
I resolved all correct Codex and CodeRabbit findings.
My PR is ready for review.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added T3 Code as a supported integration and configuration export option.
Routed models can appear in T3 Code’s model picker through a managed Claude provider setup. T3 Code reloads settings automatically, and catalog updates or sync refresh the integration.
Added a dedicated T3 Code integration tab and client configuration labels in supported languages.
Support choosing a custom T3 Code settings location. Codex threads continue using the existing Codex integration.
Bug Fixes
Preserve unrelated T3 Code settings and detect conflicts if managed settings are edited.

Generate and export T3 Code configuration src/clients/config-export/t3code.ts, src/clients/config-export.ts, src/clients/config-export/contracts.ts, src/server/management/model-routes.ts, src/cli/export-command.ts, src/cli/registry.ts, src/cli/help.ts, tests/clients/t3code-client.test.ts, tests/config/*
Adds T3 Code settings-path resolution and generates an opencodex Claude-agent provider instance with proxy environment values and custom models. Client-config export rejects configurations that require an API auth header or use a non-loopback base URL. The CLI uses the management API export path.
Register and refresh the managed integration src/integrations/*, src/server/management/config-routes.ts, src/cli/dispatch.ts, src/cli/integration-plan-dto.ts, tests/clients/t3code-client*.test.ts, tests/clients/sync-client-integrations*.test.ts, tests/cli/cli-dispatch.test.ts
Registers the T3 Code settings path and managed provider path. Adds T3 Code to attended and unattended catalog refresh targets. Tests cover apply, refresh, disable, preservation of unrelated settings, relocated paths, and conflict handling after edits to the managed instance.
Expose and document T3 Code gui/src/app-routing.ts, gui/src/components/*, gui/src/pages/integrations/*, gui/src/i18n/*, gui/tests/*, gui/public/provider-icons/README.md, docs-site/src/content/docs/guides/integrations.md, structure/clients/t3code.md, structure/clients/integrations.md, structure/INDEX.md, structure/manifest.json, structure/dashboard-and-usage.md
Adds T3 Code to GUI client and integration lists, translation catalogs, and interface tests. Adds integration guidance and documents the settings path, provider instance, model entries, loopback restrictions, and managed-edit behavior.

Needs fixes before this can land: resolve integration/layout conflicts, validate the resulting head and complete required review. Preserve the withdrawn-findings disposition.
Still needed on dev: yes — src/clients/config-export/contracts.ts:204 lists supported clients without T3 Code.
Exact-head CI at triage time: 470d7ac — successful enforcement checks coexist with cancelled label/enforce-target runs; Cross-platform CI, Catalog async contracts and React Doctor are action_required. lane=all on exact head: no.
Please refresh onto current dev when addressing these; heads older than dev need a fresh exact-head CI run before review.
Release decision (v2.93.0 dev-merge, maintainer triage lane): DEFERRED_POST_RELEASE. The PR stays open; this is not a rejection.
This is 111 commits behind dev and conflicts in gui/public/provider-icons/README.md, scripts/test-layout/layout.json and structure/INDEX.md. Its last exact-head CI (run 39800385521) failed test 1/4, and the 2026-10-24 triage asks (resolve the integration and layout conflicts, validate the new head, complete review) are still open. New client integrations also touch shared rosters (client lists, locale catalogs, layout shards) that other client PRs in this release are changing, so a stale branch is likely to break the union on merge.
Not required for 2.93.0. After the release, please merge current dev, register any new test files in the layout shards, fix the test 1/4 failure, and push. A maintainer will then rerun CI and review.
Release class: POST-RELEASE. This lands after v2.93.0 is published on main, and won't merge before then.
I pushed a maintainer update to the branch (e55435608). It merges current dev (no rebase or force-push) and resolves the conflicts. It also syncs T3 Code with the Qoder CN and WorkBuddy clients that landed meanwhile, bringing every client roster, the 11 locales, the CLI summary, the mark guards and the skill surface to 24 clients. ClientPathError is now imported from the leaf client-path module, and there are lifecycle tests for relocated-home apply/undo, a bind change and a relative-path refusal. The old test 1/4 failure was the release-tag version guard (2.91.0); it passes on current dev. An independent review of this head is running now, and exact-head CI runs closer to the merge.
The comment does not establish that bun run build was skipped or failed. The GUI guideline requires the build before claiming completion, but the supplied evidence contains no completion claim or failed build result. The locale change alone does not demonstrate a build issue.
