Wrong application gets updated
pickCandidate keeps the last application for each candidate. Since list returns newest updates first, this selects the oldest application—even when it is closed and another application is active. Both note and touch then write to the closed application, leaving the active application's follow-up unchanged.
Prefer the active application, and require a choice when several active applications remain.

Older candidates cannot be found
resolveCandidate removes the search filter for emails and candidate IDs, but list returns only the 1,000 most recently updated applications. If the pipeline exceeds that limit, get, note, and touch cannot find candidates outside that window, even with their exact email or ID.
Use a direct lookup for IDs and a filtered lookup for emails rather than treating this capped list as complete.

The match requires the stored GitHub value to end with /<handle>. Supported values such as github.com/foo?tab=repos or a bare handle saved through add --github foo will not match foo. If the candidate's name does not contain that handle, get, note, and touch cannot find them.
Reuse githubHandle to compare the stored handle.

Verified live against the local API: |
… a terminal Internal only: a repo script, not a public CLI command or MCP tool. It calls the deployed trpc.hiring.* with an @superset.sh SUPERSET_API_KEY, so writes get the same validation and timeline events as /hiring. Commands: today, list, get, note (with --as for agent-labelled events), touch, add. Moving and closing candidates stay in the admin page. No auth change was needed: API keys already resolve to a session (enableSessionForAPIKeys), so adminProcedure's email check applies.
An agent ran a real check-in with `bun hiring` and logged where it stumbled: - `--help`/`help` lists every command and flag. - Piped output is compact JSON (table fields plus ids); --full gives raw. - `follow-up <candidate> <when|clear>` sets or clears the date without logging a contact; `touch` and `add` take --as. - --next accepts tomorrow and weekdays (the next one after today). - Lookup by GitHub URL uses the same handle normalizer as the server. - The duplicate CONFLICT names the existing candidate id. - Labelled events keep the author's user id for accountability; the timeline shows the label.
…event times to the second
…p(s) candidate links - adminProcedure and the admin layout use hasAdminAccess: the email must be @superset.sh and verified. Preview deployments allow email/password sign-up without verification against a copy of production data, so the domain alone was not proof. Local development keeps working unverified. Checked on a production copy: every real staff account is verified. - Candidate links accept only http(s) on save (a bare domain gets https://) and render only http(s), since the data will also come from imports and syncs. - The hiring script prints validation errors as readable text.
…he list cap - pickCandidate keeps the active application per candidate (the old Map kept the last, i.e. oldest, row, so touch/note could hit a rejected role), and an exact name beats a partial one. Test fails on the old code. - resolveCandidate: an id goes through hiring.get; emails and GitHub URLs narrow the search server-side, so candidates beyond the 1000-row list are found. - packages/trpc tsconfig includes the hiring scripts so CI typechecks them.

Fall back when authorLabel is empty. The input schema accepts a whitespace-only label and trims it to "". For an event with that label, ?? renders a blank author instead of authorName. Use a fallback that also handles empty strings, such as event.authorLabel || event.authorName.

Check that explicit ISO dates are real calendar dates.
ISO_DATE accepts any \d{4}-\d{2}-\d{2} string, so 2026-13-45 passes through as is. Depending on server validation, the mutation either fails with a less readable error or stores an invalid date. A round-trip check catches this in the CLI and gives the user a clear message.

Use the configured company domain in this test. If NEXT_PUBLIC_ROOT_DOMAIN changes from superset.sh, hasAdminAccess checks the new domain, but the test still expects kiet@superset.sh to have access. Build the test addresses from COMPANY.EMAIL_DOMAIN so the test passes under the supported configuration.

Validate the complete URL before accepting it. toWebUrl("https://") returns "https://". The schema then accepts that value, and safeHref makes it a clickable candidate link even though it has no host. Parse the prefixed or supplied value with new URL() and reject invalid URLs before returning it.

#8369 added `bun hiring` and admin-access while this was open. The script, its args helper and the web-url check go to superset-sh/admin with the hiring router (it now calls admin.superset.sh with an API key). The verified-email rule stays here in adminProcedure.
