Housekeeping

  • SyntaxFactoryHelper's files are named for what they hold (#​509, closes #​478). The generator's syntax helpers are regrouped into files whose names say what they hold (Arithmetic, Directives, Literals, Assignment, Statements), every helper is internal, and small noise in them is removed. The generated output is byte-identical on every supported Roslyn version.

This completes the generator cleanups that 1.0.12 shipped.

Rebased onto main e6c7dee, which includes #7594 fixing the Windows reflection session timeout tracked by #7554. Pushed 82dcd6c; range-diff confirms the dependency patch is unchanged.

Validation: git diff --check passed, and all nine changed XML package/project files parse successfully. The previous head passed all checks except the Windows engine session timeout; fresh CI must validate the rebased head. No engine tests were run locally, per repository instructions.

Read all review surfaces: no inline threads or actionable findings; previous-head Codex, CodeRabbit and Greptile verdicts were clean. Disabled auto-merge before pushing. This is a Renovate PR: repository merge scripts intentionally deny it because Claude review is skipped, so leave merging to Renovate once fresh CI passes.

Fixed both failing pipeline jobs in b4bd5a2. Main PR #7594 changed STAThreadTests from Repeat(100) to Repeat(10) and added five comment lines without refreshing the generator snapshots. Updated all four framework snapshots for those exact repeat counts and source locations; the .NET 10 snapshot matches the received artifact from run 41880876384 exactly.

Validation: targeted STAThreadTests generator snapshot test passed on net10.0 (1/1), and git diff --check passed. Only .NET 10 is installed locally; net8.0/net9.0/net472 validation remains for CI. The Windows snapshot received the same deterministic metadata changes. Existing restore/analyzer warnings are tracked by #7412 and #7410.

The earlier blocker is cleared: #7603 merged, and AOT run 41900939879 completed successfully, including Windows engine tests.

Rebased onto current main a85bb69 and pushed 63abbef for fresh CI. Range-diff confirms the dependency update is unchanged; Git dropped the STA snapshot refresh because #7603 already delivered it, including its BOM correction. No remaining implementation or parent scope needs a separate linked-item action.

Validation: git diff --check passed and all nine changed package/project XML files parse successfully. No engine tests ran locally, per repository instructions. Reviews, inline comments, GraphQL threads and conversation comments were checked; no actionable findings or unresolved threads. Auto-merge was disabled before this push. Fresh hosted CI must validate this head; this Renovate PR remains for Renovate to merge under repository policy.

Rechecked the earlier hosted-Renovate blocker on 2026-11-05 against head cf6f1eb (Renovate regenerated it at 10:27 UTC). The blocker still holds: OPEN, ready, CLEAN and MERGEABLE, with no GitHub autoMergeRequest. All execution checks passed on this head; the last pipeline completed at 10:48 UTC. Claude review and dump analysis are intentionally skipped. Codex and Greptile report no findings on this head; CodeRabbit is paused with its previous clean verdict. Reviews, inline comments, GraphQL review threads and conversation comments contain no actionable findings or unresolved threads.

Resolve routes checked:

  • Blocker first: no native blocked_by dependency or closing acceptance issue exists. Dashboard Dependency Dashboard #403 lists this PR normally, without a regeneration block, and has no sub-issues. It is the hosted automation dashboard, not an implementation prerequisite an agent can complete.
  • Already implemented: freshly fetched main 4d359a0 still pins AWSSDK.SQS 4.0.100.22, Imposter 1.0.12 and TUnit 1.79.0. The nine-file dependency/template patch remains needed.

Direct merge or agent auto-merge would violate references/repository.md, Merge gate: "Leave them to Renovate; act on one only to fix its failing CI."

Remaining external gate [upstream]: hosted Renovate must perform its configured automerge for #7593; #403 tracks the update. No repository-side implementation or CI action can remove this gate. Marked on-hold under the skill's external-gate rule, correcting the earlier decision to leave it unlabelled. Remove on-hold when hosted Renovate clears the merge gate (or repository policy changes to authorize an agent merge). This is not a CI/review/workflow-run wait. Reassess when Renovate changes the PR or dashboard; no repeated regeneration or green-CI rerun was requested.
