Siblings of #5078: CICS file INVREQ RESP2 for tokenless update holds (28/30/31) #5092

Closed

Description

@squid-protocol

Siblings of #5078 (class: CICS file-control INVREQ RESP2 values for update holds). PR #5090 modelled the TOKEN members (INVREQ RESP2 47). The tokenless members below still record RESP2 0 in both runtimes (ggcics.c and CicsTask), and the 28 case is not modelled at all. IBM CICS TS 6.x states the values on the REWRITE, DELETE and READ pages (see register X52).

  • REWRITE without TOKEN and with no tokenless READ UPDATE before it: INVREQ RESP2 30 (runtimes record 0)
  • DELETE without RIDFLD and with no tokenless READ UPDATE before it: INVREQ RESP2 31 (runtimes record 0)
  • A second tokenless READ UPDATE on the same file without an intervening REWRITE, DELETE, UNLOCK or SYNCPOINT: INVREQ RESP2 28 (not modelled)
  • The full-key READ's other INVREQ / NOTFND RESP2 values (files.py says "records 0, until spec PR 6"): check each one against IBM's READ page

Each member needs both runtimes, the spec Outcome's RESP2, and a test on both sides. Duplicate search: there is no open issue on file INVREQ RESP2. UNLOCK without TOKEN is #5079 (a separate mechanism).

    Boxes 1-3 (RESP2 30 / 31 / 28) landed in merged PR #5103. Box 4 (the full-key READ's other INVREQ / NOTFND RESP2 values) is in progress on run 5092-20261015T1146Z.

    Review of PR #5201 (box 4, READ NOTFND 80 / INVREQ 25/26/42): same-mechanism members the PR leaves open, added to this checklist:

    • DELETE GENERIC KEYLENGTH INVREQ 25 (>= full key) / 42 (< 0): still refused in ggcics.c GGCDELT and Cics.delete; check IBM's DELETE page, reuse readInvalid's shape
    • DELETE GENERIC on a non-KSDS file, INVREQ 22

    (FILENOTFOUND 1, DUPREC 150, LENGERR 10/13, DISABLED 50, NOTOPEN 60, IOERR 120 stay with spec PR 6.)

    Acceptance met: boxes 1-3 (RESP2 30/31/28) landed in #5103, box 4 (READ NOTFND 80 / INVREQ 25/26/42) in #5201, and the DELETE siblings added in review (GENERIC KEYLENGTH 25/42, non-KSDS 22, plus 21/26) in #5204. FILENOTFOUND/DUPREC/LENGERR/DISABLED/NOTOPEN/IOERR stay with spec PR 6.
