Four fixes from the CodeRabbit review of mosip#2448. The require_pkce and PAR negatives carried expect_login_failure and nothing else, so they reported PASSED on any failure in the chain — a wrong OTP would have "proved" PKCE enforcement. The DPoP negatives already guarded against this; the other three now do too. The anchors are the harness's own strings rather than eSignet's wording, so they pin WHERE the rejection happened: a credential failure reads "login flow failed: flow did not COMPLETE …" and can never produce "authorize returned error=invalid_request". (The review suggested "login flow failed" for all three, which does not appear in the PKCE rejections at all — those come back through codeFromRedirect — and would have failed two of the cases it meant to tighten.) userinfo went through r.do, so it read no DPoP-Nonce and never retried, while token and PAR did. RFC 9449 s8 lets a resource server demand a nonce and refuse the first proof; against such a deployment every DPoP positive would have failed at userinfo and been reported as an eSignet conformance failure rather than the harness gap it is. Adds getWithDPoP alongside postWithDPoP, with the Bearer case passed a nil signer so it still makes exactly one call. TestDPoPJWKExponentRoundTrips asserted d.jwk["e"].(string) unchecked, so a missing or non-string member panicked instead of failing the test, and reached the exponent through the embedded PublicKey (forcetypeassert, QF1008). The README tag table listed only consent configuration for @client-mgmt though the surface now validates the protocol additionalConfig too. Verified against esignet-thunder1.esdev: all 17 protocol and introspection scenarios still pass, the three tightened negatives are rejected with the anchored errors, and the DPoP positives complete through the new userinfo path. The introspection test asserted that an inactive answer carries no metadata, but the stub returns nothing except "active" for a token it never issued — so only the passing direction ran. An expect_absent that always passed would have kept the RFC 7662 s4 leak check green. Adds the other direction against the active response, which does carry sub. Mutation-checked: hardcoding Passed: true in the expect_absent loop now fails the test, and did not before. Raised in review on mosip#2448. Signed-off-by: Nandhukumar <nandhukumare@gmail.com>

verifyJWS auto-detected the PSS salt length, so it would accept a PS256 signature RFC 7518 does not allow — while signJWS, in the same file, already signs with the salt fixed at the hash length. A harness whose job is to surface target-side deviations must not be the thing that hides one. Covered by a test that verifies the conforming signature as a control and then rejects a maximal-salt one over the same signing input. Also drops a stray space inside a code span in the troubleshooting table (markdownlint MD038). Both raised by CodeRabbit on PR mosip#2448. Signed-off-by: Nandhukumar <nandhukumare@gmail.com>

…admin auth adminAuthAvailable() (engine_test.go) and --check's client-mgmt readiness line (cmd/cfg) both accepted KEYCLOAK_CLIENT_SECRET alone as "admin auth available", tagging @client-mgmt in and reporting will run -- but iAuthenticateAsAdmin (steps.go) requires KEYCLOAK_TOKEN_URL and KEYCLOAK_CLIENT_ID as well, so a secret with either missing would fail every client-mgmt scenario on ENV_NOT_READY-shaped ground the gate was supposed to catch before the run started. Both sites now require all three fields together, same as ADMIN_TOKEN's alternative already did by being a single value. Raised by CodeRabbit on PR mosip#2448, against the ADMIN_TOKEN commit. …-token work Seven findings, all verified against current code before fixing. Security: createClientViaPMS and the lifecycle status calls send AdminToken over whatever scheme r.Base/PMSBaseURL happen to be, and the shared HTTP client keeps Go's default redirect policy, which follows a same-host scheme downgrade without stripping Authorization/Cookie. requireHTTPS rejects a non-https base before Run does anything that would send the token, closing both the direct case and the redirect one. Correctness: readClientStatus checked firstErrorCode but not the HTTP status itself, unlike setClientStatus two functions above it -- a non-2xx response without a recognizable MOSIP error code could be decoded as a normal status read. Brought in line with its sibling. Correctness: the "cannot start the flow" inactive-client negative asserted only the generic "login flow failed" prefix that every driver.Run failure produces -- a bad OTP or an unrelated transport error would pass the scenario without the deactivated client ever having been rejected at authorize. This already happened: today's run against esdev under the nandhu partner reported this scenario PASSED off the back of FET-1005 (a kyc-auth partner-mapping failure, nothing to do with client status). Tightened to the driver's authorize-error-page text, which the driver already produces specifically for that hop and nowhere else -- no new scenario field needed, matching the convention the sibling PAR/token/ userinfo negatives already use of asserting a call that could only have been reached by passing the earlier gate. Postman collection (committed in 05c73f9, so in scope for review): admin_token now goes through pm.vault instead of a plain collection variable, so an export or a shared collection carries only the vault reference. consent_decisions was interpolated inside its own quotes in the request body while already holding JSON.stringify'd text, producing invalid JSON the moment a real consent prompt was returned -- double- encoded now, matching how the Go driver's map[string]string field already serializes it on the wire. Also corrected the collection description's claim that a new OIDC client needs 20 minutes to 3 hours before IDA recognizes it: today's investigation traced that to a PMS->IDA websub outage, not propagation time -- an event lost during an outage never recovers, which the old wording told the reader to just wait out. README: documented ADMIN_TOKEN as an accepted alternative to Keycloak credentials in the api/e2e prerequisites column; the harness has taken it since mosip#2448 but the table still said Keycloak was required either way. Fail closed on non-HTTPS redirect hops (internal/httpx/httpx.go). Every caller of NewClient sends AdminToken via the Authorization header; CheckRedirect now refuses any redirect target whose scheme isn't https, as defense in depth alongside requireHTTPS validating the request's own base URL. Require TLS certificate verification when ADMIN_TOKEN is set (internal/e2e/e2e.go Run). An https base URL is worthless cover for the token if the client accepts any certificate a man-in-the-middle presents; TLSVerify:false now fails registration outright, the same way a non-https base URL already does. Fail when discovery advertises algorithms but none this harness can produce (internal/e2e/dpop.go chooseDPoPAlg). Only an EMPTY dpop_signing_alg_values_supported still falls back to defaultDPoPAlg -- discovery simply not publishing the field is not a capability gap. A non-empty list with no PS256/RS256 match now returns an error instead of silently sending a proof the server correctly rejects, which previously surfaced as a deployment failure rather than naming the actual harness limit. Live-verified against esdev: all 13 protocol positive/negative e2e scenarios still pass, 13/13 -- the real deployment's advertised algorithms never hit the new error path. … scenarios
The suite drove only POST/PUT/GET on /client-mgmt/client. That left four routed
endpoints with no coverage at all -- PATCH /client-mgmt/client/{id}, both
/client-mgmt/oidc-client and /client-mgmt/oauth-client, and the two
/system-info endpoints -- plus the rejection paths for every list field.
patch-client.feature partial update, field-by-field merge, and the
three-state encPublicKey (omitted/null/JWK)
client-profiles.feature the oidc and oauth profiles, whose
clientNameLangMap and additionalConfig rules
differ from "client", and the non-RSA key branches
client-validation.feature per-field rejections -- size, uniqueness and
allowed values -- across create, update and patch
system-info.feature /health, plus reading and uploading certificates
Statement coverage of internal/clientmgmt on the api surface goes from 44.8% to
74.1%. All four are plugin-agnostic: the api surface never enters plugin code,
so mock and sunbird report identical numbers for them.
The list size ceilings are only reachable through patch -- create and update
pass a maximum of 0, which disables the check -- which is why those cases live
in the patch scenario rather than beside the create ones.
One scenario in system-info.feature fails on purpose. Uploading unparseable
certificateData answers HTTP 500 "server_error" instead of 200
"invalid_certificate": the parse failure is wrapped without a sentinel, so it
misses every errors. Is arm in handleServiceError and falls to the default
branch. The assertion describes the intended contract and is deliberately left
red, pending confirmation from the service team.

…t exposed
Six defects, each found by driving esdev/qajava21 by hand and comparing against a
working browser session. All were invisible in the report: every one surfaced as a
plausible-looking failure somewhere other than its cause.
PMS speaks a different dialect to eSignet.
- It reads the admin token from a cookie named Authorization and answers
KER-ATH-401 to the Bearer header eSignet wants, so the transport is now chosen
per target rather than switched globally. Cookie joins the redacted headers in
the e2e trace, since the token travels there now.
- Its update endpoint wants "requesttime", all lowercase, and rejects the
camel-case spelling the create endpoint accepts with PMS_REQUEST_ERROR_004.
- Deactivation is terminal: reactivating answers PMS_ESI_008. The scenario
asserted a round trip PMS does not support, and now asserts the refusal.
- It reports success as "errors": [] where eSignet sends null, so a strict
null assertion failed on a successful update. Adds a "should be empty" step.
The login flow was driven wrongly in two ways.
- Every login-id tab submits under the ref "submit_uin"; only nextNode says
which identifier kind goes out. selectAction took the sole non-nav action and
ignored id_type, so a phone was submitted on the UIN tab and the ID system
rejected the value far from the mistake. Tab correction is now keyed on
nextNode, with the id-type tokens kept apart from the auth-factor ones — those
carry "otp", a substring of every tab's node name.
- Inputs accumulate across a flow and every step re-sends all of them, which is
what the browser does. Each view declares only the field it adds, so the OTP
view declares "otp" alone; submitting just that left the auth node with no
identity and it answered FET-1005 "Invalid credentials provided" as though the
code itself were wrong.
Also: the mock-SMTP server replays its recent history to every client that
connects, and wsotp timed records by arrival, so the replay burst looked newer
than the flow waiting on an OTP and a stale code could be returned. Freshness now
comes from the message's own date, falling back to arrival when absent.
Client registration moves to PMS /oidc-clients, the documented endpoint. It needs
the AUTH_PARTNER realm role, and a KER-ATH-403 for the lack of it now reports
ENV_NOT_READY rather than failing 30 scenarios.
Adds a Postman collection covering the same path by hand — admin token, client
registration, authorize through consent — with the error codes decoded, for
checking an environment before spending a run on it.
client-mgmt goes 56/59 to 59/59 against esdev. The e2e surface remains blocked
there by IDA-MPA-009 "Partner is not registered": IDA keeps its own partner
mapping fed from PMS by websub, and a client created seconds earlier is not yet in
it. That is a deployment gap, and the fix on this side is an option to reuse a
pre-registered client instead of making one per run.

config.mock.json and its coverage variant declared id_type "phone" for 8267411574, which is a UIN. Nothing depended on the distinction before: the driver ignored id_type whenever a view offered a single non-navigation action, so the identifier went out on whichever login-id tab the flow happened to open on, and the UIN tab is the default. Honouring id_type gives the field teeth, and a wrong value now picks a wrong tab. "uin" keeps mock on the tab it has always used — the submit there already targets send_mosip_otp_uin, so the tab correction sees a match and stays put, which is the id-tab-uin-stays case in driver_test.go. Deactivating a client is the operator's kill switch: INACTIVE is how a relying party that has been retired, compromised or offboarded is taken out of service without deleting its record. The suite covered throwing the switch — update-client and patch-client both set the status and read it back — and nothing at all about whether eSignet then acts on it. Two files where there was one, because these are two different questions. client-mgmt/client-status.feature holds the management edges neither existing file reaches, and two of them are contract surprises worth pinning: create has no status member, so a status sent in a create request is silently dropped and the client is registered ACTIVE; and update is a full replace with a mandatory status, so a PUT meaning only to rename a client is rejected outright rather than keeping the stored value. Alongside them: casing normalizes but padding does not, an empty string and an explicit null are invalid rather than "leave it alone", a patch naming other fields leaves a deactivated client deactivated, and deactivating twice is idempotent. All twelve pass. flow-execute/inactive-client.feature asks the other question at the authorize endpoint, and the e2e surface asks it at par, token and userinfo through a new client_lifecycle field — one scenario per door, because they fail differently and a deployment could plausibly have one without the others. Each carries expect_error_contains so a case meant to prove one endpoint enforces the status cannot pass by being rejected at an earlier one, and each is paired with a reactivate control that runs the same status writes and must complete: without it a rejection could be the deactivation plumbing rather than enforcement. They fail, and that is the finding. Against a local mock deployment an INACTIVE client completes the entire journey — authorize, PAR, token, userinfo — with the report showing INACTIVE read back from eSignet's own store on the line above. Not marked known_issue: this is a product gap, not an environment one, and the Known bucket is for gaps we have already agreed to live with. A scenario that changes its client's status is registered a client of its own rather than drawing from the pool — deactivating a shared client would break every later scenario using that config, silently, for a reason none of them names — and every status write is read back before the flow continues, so a patch response echoing INACTIVE over a record that stayed ACTIVE fails the scenario instead of quietly testing an active client. Added to all three plugin specs (mock, mosip, sunbird). The api-side enforcement scenarios are gated on @inactive-client, which needs admin auth: they register and deactivate a client of their own rather than driving the shared FLOW_CLIENT_ID, which must stay usable. The manual-testing collection added in 05c73f9 and touched again in b234233 is for local, by-hand verification against a live deployment before spending a harness run on it - it doesn't belong in this PR's scope. …stration
PMS's /oidc-clients silently drops additionalConfig on registration, so a
mosipid client asking for require_pkce/PAR/DPoP came back unhardened and
the three "protocol negative: ... rejects ..." e2e scenarios failed as
"expected rejection, login succeeded" - not an eSignet bug, an environment
gap in the registration path PMS exposes.
Since eSignet's own client-mgmt PATCH is what the engine actually reads
for enforcement (the same reasoning setClientStatus in lifecycle.go
already relies on for the mosip plugin), createClientViaPMS now follows a
successful PMS registration with a PATCH to eSignet's
/client-mgmt/client/{id} carrying the same additionalConfig, and reads it
back rather than trusting the echo - PMS's own registration endpoint
accepts the identical field and silently discards it, so an echo alone
proves nothing here. A readback that still disagrees fails registration
outright instead of returning an unhardened client that would pass its
positive scenarios while quietly floating the negatives.
The 13 protocol positive/negative e2e scenarios (7 positive, 6 negative)
already exist identically in e2e-scenarios-mosip.json and
e2e-scenarios.json - no new scenario coverage was needed, only this fix
to the registration path they run against.
Covered by four new unit tests in pms_additionalconfig_test.go: the patch
fires and is verified when a client asks for hardening, is skipped
entirely for an unhardened client, and registration fails loudly on
either a rejected patch or a readback that still disagrees.

One 3-line block slipped in with the additionalConfig patch commit; down to a single line, no meaning lost. Signed-off-by: Nandhukumar <nandhukumare@gmail.com>
The read-back verification added in the previous commit was wrong and caused a live regression (e2e 25/35 -> 14/35 on esdev): every one of eSignet's client-mgmt responses - create, update, patch AND get alike - runs through ClientResponse.APIResponse() (esignet-service/internal/ clientmgmt/model.go), which strips every field but clientId and status before it reaches the wire. additionalConfig is never echoed back by design, not dropped by a bug, so GET right after the PATCH always showed an empty record and the new code failed every hardened client's registration outright - worse than the PMS-drop bug it was meant to fix. Confirmed live against esdev with a filtered single-scenario run (CONFIG_FILE=... E2E_INCLUDE="..." go run ./cmd/e2e): the PATCH itself does persist server-side even though nothing echoes it - the require_pkce negative correctly got invalid_request "code_challenge is required for this application" back from a real authorize call. The protocol scenario that runs next is the only real proof this ever needed; the read-back was answering a question the API structurally cannot answer, not exercising one it was failing. All 13 protocol positive/negative e2e scenarios re-verified live, 13/13 passing (previously 8/13, with the other 5 either genuinely unhardened via PMS or now over-corrected to fail on the read-back). … failure The "Uploading certificateData that is not a certificate is rejected as an invalid certificate" scenario documented a real esignet-service defect (UploadCertificate wraps a parse failure with a bare fmt.Errorf instead of a named sentinel, so handleServiceError's default branch answers 500 instead of invalid_certificate) and deliberately stayed FAILED so the defect couldn't be hidden. Filed as mosip#2527. Adds a tag-based known-issue mechanism to the api/godog surface, mirroring what internal/e2e/e2e.go already does per-scenario via Scenario.KnownIssue: a scenario tagged @known_issue still runs and asserts the correct (currently failing) behavior, but a failure reports HarnessOutcome=KNOWN_ISSUE instead of FAILED, bucketing it as Known in the report rather than a regular failure -- and it goes green on its own, no edit needed, once the tracked bug is fixed. apiKnownIssueReasons in api/steps.go records the reason and issue link per scenario name; a tagged scenario missing an entry there flags itself rather than silently reporting no reason. This surface is shared across all plugins (mock/mosip/sunbird), so the reclassification applies to any of them hitting the same defect. Live-verified against esdev: the scenario's envelope now carries HarnessOutcome=KNOWN_ISSUE with the mosip#2527 reference. Also tracks the mosipid bio positive scenario's existing known_issue against a filed future task (mosip#2528: provision a mock biometric device service for the mosipid api-test target). Every /system-info/* endpoint requires an authenticated admin bearer token — a deployed target answers "missing Authorization header" (errorCode "unauthorized") otherwise. The scenarios were written against a locally started server, which never inspects the bearer (scope middleware installs only when both ISSUER_URL and JWKS_URL are set), so they passed locally and failed against every real deployment. Adds "Given I authenticate as admin" to all eight /system-info scenarios, matching what client-mgmt already does: the step is ENV_NOT_READY rather than a hard failure when KEYCLOAK_* isn't configured, so a target without admin credentials reports the scenarios as not-runnable instead of failing them. /health is left alone — it needs neither credentials nor a client, and the feature's header comment now says which half is which rather than claiming none of these endpoints need admin credentials. Live-verified against esdev: the eight scenarios pass where they previously returned 401. Signed-off-by: Nandhukumar <nandhukumare@gmail.com>
…bit findings Three related changes to how a scenario that cannot run is reported. bio is now driven by esignet.credentials.biometric (env TEST_BIOMETRIC) rather than having no answer at all. Mock accepts any non-empty value as a successful capture, so its positive case can pass; the negative case uses the new omit_credentials to submit no value whatsoever, which is not the same as overriding to "" — mock accepts an empty string too, so an empty override would make the negative pass for the wrong reason. password's positive scenario on mosipid gains requires_credential: "password". The credential legitimately varies by deployment, so the scenario is reported SKIPPED when esignet.credentials.password is unset instead of failing every run that has not seeded it. Unavailable factors are still kept and reported FAILED by default — requires_credential and known_issue are the two deliberate, marked exceptions, and the docs now say so rather than stating the rule without them. CodeRabbit findings from PR mosip#2448: - api/steps.go: knownIssueReason returned true for a @known_issue tag with no entry in apiKnownIssueReasons, so InitScenario set HarnessOutcome to KNOWN_ISSUE for it. A renamed scenario or an unreviewed tag could therefore pull a real regression out of the failure bucket — the one thing this mechanism must never do. It now returns false and the scenario stays a normal FAILURE, with the diagnostic still surfaced through the envelope's OutcomeDetail so the unregistered tag is visible rather than ignored. Test updated to assert the classification, not just the message. - internal/e2e/e2e.go: sc.KnownIssue was applied only after login succeeded and claim assertions failed. A gap that stops login completing at all — no mock MDS to answer a biometric capture — was the one case the marker could not cover, so the mosipid bio scenario still blocked the run despite being declared out of scope. The positive login-failure branch now honours it too. Live-verified against esdev (api+e2e, mosip): password reports SKIPPED, bio reports KNOWN ISSUE, and the uploadCertificate defect reports KNOWN_ISSUE, leaving the run's real failures as the only entries in the Failed bucket. Signed-off-by: Nandhukumar <nandhukumare@gmail.com>
RFC 7662 does not require a token endpoint to support introspecting an id_token — it defines introspection generically over "a token" and the token_type_hint values are hints, not a support contract. The scenario was tracking a real gap (esdev reports a freshly issued id_token as active=false under every hint, including id_token, while the same flow's access token reports active), but that gap sits outside what the spec requires, so it is not worth carrying as permanent friction in every e2e run across mock, mosip and sunbird. Removed from all three scenario files, not just mosip -- same case, same comment, present in each. Signed-off-by: Nandhukumar <nandhukumare@gmail.com>
Two CodeRabbit findings from PR mosip#2448. requires_credential looked its name up in the answers map and treated a miss as "not configured for this deployment". BuildAnswers drops empty values, so an unconfigured credential is simply absent from that map — indistinguishable by lookup from a name that was never a credential at all. A typo such as "pasword" therefore reported SKIPPED, taking the scenario out of the failure signal on a spelling mistake. That is the same failure mode as an unregistered @known_issue tag, and it must not be reachable by accident. esignet.KnownAnswerKey now names every key BuildAnswers can supply, and an unrecognised requires_credential is a loud FAILED ("scenario spec error") rather than a skip. SKIPPED is reserved for a recognised credential whose value is empty, which is the case it was meant for. A test asserts the list covers everything BuildAnswers actually produces, so the two cannot drift apart and turn a real credential into a spec error. omit_credentials is deliberately left unchecked: a typo there leaves the credential in place, so the negative case submits a valid one, login succeeds, and expect_login_failure fails the scenario. It already fails loudly and needs no separate guard. Also documents TEST_BIOMETRIC in configuration.md's environment override table, which declares itself complete but listed only TEST_USERNAME and TEST_PASSWORD for esignet.credentials.*. … non-requirement "inactive client negative: a token issued before deactivation cannot be spent at userinfo" expected userinfo to refuse an access token because the token's client had since been deactivated. Nothing in OAuth promises that. The two sibling negatives are enforceable for a concrete reason: authorize and token both authenticate the CLIENT, so an INACTIVE status is visible to them, and both scenarios pass. userinfo authenticates only the bearer token and never consults the client record, so there is no point in that request at which the status could be noticed. An issued access token stays valid until it expires or is explicitly revoked (RFC 7009); deactivating its client is neither of those. So the scenario was reporting a spec-conformant response as a defect, and it was the only remaining failure in the mosipid run — a red result that could never go green without eSignet implementing something the protocol does not ask for. Removed from all three plugin specs (mock, mosipid, sunbird). The after_token lifecycle stage itself is kept and still tested in lifecycle_test.go: a deployment that has CHOSEN to enforce client status at userinfo can still assert that, as a local policy claim rather than a protocol one. docs/e2e-scenarios.md now says so, and says why the stage ships with no scenario of its own. The conformance surface's preflight returned ENV_NOT_READY with zero modules when the suite could not be reached. cmd/conformance only writes a partial report once a run has produced at least one module, so the surface wrote nothing at all and run-all.sh could say only that it "crashed before writing one" — the actual cause reached the container log and nowhere else. A deployment running the harness without the suite beside it therefore produced a red run with no explanation in the report anyone reads. Record the failure as one ENV_NOT_READY row per configured plan, which is how every other surface already degrades, and apply it to the dynamic-OTP listener preflight for the same reason. The run still exits non-zero. Also say what happens next when the suite wait times out, rather than "proceeding anyway": proceeding is deliberate, since bailing there would leave the api and e2e surfaces unrun too. The ENV_NOT_READY rows added in efcab74f were written to a report that was then thrown away. run-all.sh learns where a surface put its report by reading "report: <path>" off STDOUT; the partial-report branch only logged "partial report: <path>" to stderr, under a different prefix. So the file landed in REPORT_DIR, the script still declared "conformance surface produced no report (crashed before writing one)", and consolidate was left with nothing to fold in -- the exact hole those rows exist to close. Print the stdout line as well, keeping the stderr log for its wording. Found by running the built image against an unreachable suite: the consolidated report now carries one errored row per plan instead of the surface vanishing. Also point values-conformance.yaml at the api-test-sidecar tag, which is the first image carrying any of this. run.profile defaulted to smoke, so a run that said nothing about profiles graded a curated subset and reported it as "conformance". That overstates what was checked, and it was never a workable default anyway: only oidcc-test-plan.smoke.json ships, so every shipped config already had to pin the FAPI plan back to full to stop it looking for a list that does not exist. Default to full and make narrowing the deliberate act. run.profile=smoke and plans[].profile=smoke both still work, and the shipped configs keep pinning the FAPI plan to full so that narrowing an oidcc run cannot break it. The three shipped configs that set run.profile=smoke explicitly are switched to full as well, since the default alone would not have reached them. Verified with --check: both plans in config.mosip.json now resolve to profile=full. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Signed-off-by: Nandhukumar <nandhukumare@gmail.com>
configuration.md documented every field but never said which of them move when you switch plugins, so templating a second deployment meant diffing the three shipped configs by hand and hoping nothing was missed. The new section states it both ways. Identical everywhere: the target, the admin grant, all of run, all of conformance and plans[], and api.tags / flow_client_id / tls_verify -- template that once. Different: a table of the dozen fields the provider actually moves, including the two that are only discoverable by reading code -- mosip needs otp.source=dynamic with an otp.ws_url beside it, and registers e2e clients through PMS rather than eSignet's own client-mgmt endpoint. Two traps are called out explicitly because both fail silently rather than loudly: pms.policy_id is overridden by AUTH_POLICY_ID, not PMS_POLICY_ID; and provider is never auto-detected, so a mock config aimed at a mosip deployment is a wrong run rather than an error. Also adds @inactive-client to the api.tags list, which had gone unlisted since the tag was introduced -- engine_test.go selects it whenever admin auth is available, so a reader picking tags by hand would have dropped a scenario the default run includes. The pr-gate lint job runs actionlint 1.7.7 with shellcheck over every workflow, and it fails on build-uitest-esignet-local: checkout and setup-java are still pinned to v3, whose node16 runner GitHub no longer runs, and both settings.xml paths go unquoted (SC2086). Bump the two actions to v4, matching what the rest of this file already uses, and quote $GITHUB_WORKSPACE in the redirect and the -s argument. build-uitest-esignet-local checks out and then runs Maven over the checked-out source, so the token actions/checkout writes into the git config stays readable by the build for the length of the job. The job runs no git commands of its own, so nothing needs it. build_go_apitest in this same file already checks out this way. This just makes the older job match. …auth2/introspect endpoint (#2359) (#2448) (#2550) Backport of c381283 from develop-go, so that api-test on release-2.0.x matches develop-go. The api-test tree is now identical between the two branches. The original commit also carried a hunk against .github/workflows/push-trigger.yml. That hunk edits the build-uitest-esignet-local job, which release-2.0.x does not have, and is unrelated to api-test, so it is left out here. Summary
Extends the Go API test harness (#2357) to two protocol areas it never reached: the per-client
protocol switches eSignet enforces through
additionalConfig, and the RFC 7662 tokenintrospection endpoint newly added through thunderidengine. Both are covered on every plugin —
mock, sunbird, mosipid — and land in the same consolidated HTML report.
Also brings the mosipid plugin's api+e2e coverage against a live, IDA-backed deployment (#2190)
from 75/109 to 116/128 passed — five harness defects a real deployment exposed and fixed (PMS
cookie auth, tab selection, input accumulation across flow steps, OTP replay staleness, PMS→IDA
websub outage vs. propagation-delay misdiagnosis, detailed below) — and adds coverage for whether a
deactivated client is actually locked out, at
authorize, tokenanduserinfo, across allthree plugins. That coverage found a live product gap: it isn't.
require_pkce,require_pushed_authorization_requests,dpop_bound_access_tokens— enforced atauthorize,/oauth2/par,tokenanduserinfo. What's covered, in detail
Protocol switches —
e2e(13 scenarios per plugin spec)Scenarios declare
client_config(what the client requires) and optionallyflow(what therelying party actually does). Driving the two against each other is how a negative is expressed:
a client requiring PAR, approached directly, must be refused.
userinfo:require_pkce, PAR, DPoP, and every pairingand the triple.
code_challenge, theplainchallenge method, a direct authorize against aPAR-required client, a token call with no DPoP proof, a proof from a different key than the one
bound at PAR, and a DPoP-bound token presented with the
Bearerscheme atuserinfo.Clients are pooled by config, so scenarios naming no
client_configstill share the singleunhardened client the order-dependent consent cases rely on.
This needed the relying-party side of DPoP: proof generation (RFC 9449) over a key kept separate
from the client's registration key, RFC 7638 thumbprints, the PAR pre-step, the
DPoPscheme atuserinfowith anathbinding, and theuse_dpop_nonceretry atpar, tokenanduserinfo. The proof algorithm is negotiated from
dpop_signing_alg_values_supportedrather than fixed — esdevadvertises no RS256, so a hardcoded choice is rejected outright.
Protocol
additionalConfigvalidation —api(@client-mgmt)Allowlist rejection, non-object payload, non-boolean switches,
id_token_response_type,allowed_authorization_scopes, and the update path — asserted against the real MOSIP error envelope(
HTTP 200+errors[].errorCode, not a 4xx).Token introspection —
e2e(4 scenarios per plugin spec)Reaching the endpoint meaningfully needs a token the deployment actually issued, so scenarios add an
introspectlist to a flow that has already completed throughuserinfo. Each entry is one POST andprefixes its own assertions with its
name, so a row says which case failed.A case has two independent axes — which token is submitted (
access_token/id_token/unissued/none) and how the call authenticates (private_key_jwt/no_assertion/wrong_key/wrong_audience) — and the negatives are written by pointing one axis away from thepositive.
client_id,sub,scope,iss,expandiat, and resolves with no hint and under a mismatched hint — RFC 7662 §2.1 makestoken_type_hintan optimization the server may ignore.cnf.jkt, matching the thumbprint the token carries.Without this a resource server consulting introspection instead of reading the token would have no
way to know a proof of possession is required.
(§4) — otherwise introspection becomes an oracle for guessed tokens.
tokenparameter (400invalid_request), aclient_idwith no assertion, an assertion signed with an unregistered key,and an assertion issued for another audience (401
invalid_client).{{client_id}},{{issuer}},{{sub}}and{{dpop_jkt}}are substituted from what the runobtained,
expect_valuestakes dotted paths (cnf.jkt), and an array member matches on any elementsince RFC 7662 lets
audbe either. One check is added rather than declared: anactivetokenwhose
exphas already passed fails.Token introspection —
api(@flow-execute, 5 scenarios)Client authentication is validated before the submitted token is looked at, so everything
reachable without a registered client is endpoint-shape validation: a request naming no client and
an empty request (400
invalid_request), aclient_idwith no assertion and an unverifiableassertion (401
invalid_client), and the endpoint not being exposed overGET— where a token wouldland in access logs.
Unit tests
27 added (
protocol_test.go18,introspect_test.go9), including an RFC 7638 known-answerthumbprint test, PS256/PSS verification, the
use_dpop_nonceretry handshake, dotted-path memberlookup, and a check that each client-authentication mode produces a materially different request.
Documentation
docs/e2e-scenarios.mdgains a Protocol combinations and an Introspection coverage section(field tables, placeholders, what each needs from the deployment);
README.mdsurface and tag tablesupdated.
Client status / deactivation enforcement —
e2e+apiThe api surface already covered throwing the switch (
client-mgmt/client-status.feature, 12scenarios: casing normalizes but padding does not, empty string and explicit
nullare invalidrather than "leave it alone", a patch naming other fields leaves a deactivated client deactivated,
deactivating twice is idempotent). Nothing covered whether eSignet then acts on it.
client_lifecyclein a scenario flips a client's status mid-flow at one of three stages, each aseparate scenario because they fail differently and a deployment could plausibly enforce one without
the others:
before_authorizeauthorize, orparfor a PAR-required clientafter_authorizetokenafter_tokenuserinfoEach negative is paired with a
reactivatepositive control — same client, same plumbing, statusrestored, flow must complete — so a negative that fails cannot be blamed on the deactivation
machinery itself. A scenario carrying
client_lifecycleregisters a dedicated client rather thandrawing from the shared pool, since deactivating a pooled client would silently break every later
scenario using that config.
flow-execute/inactive-client.featureasks thebefore_authorizequestion again from the api surface directly.
They fail, and that's the finding — see Product gap #2 below.
mosipid — fixes a live, IDA-backed deployment exposed (#2190)
Everything here is config-driven and applies to the

identical from a single run — a freshly registered client fails
IDA-MLC-007 "Send OTP failed", anaged one passes — but the mechanism differs, and it changes the fix: propagation is a queue that
drains on its own; an outage drops the event permanently, and only re-registering the client
recovers it. Distinguished on esdev by registering a brand-new client and driving
submit_uinevery two minutes for 81 minutes straight through an outage window with no recovery, then again
once it cleared — new clients synced instantly, stale ones (including one 10 hours old) never did.
No code changed for this one; it's a diagnosis, recorded in

2. A deactivated client is not locked out — reproduced on two independent deployments

authorize→ PAR →token→userinfo) completeson a deactivated client.
curloutside the harness, and caughtby two unrelated code paths at once — the
e2esurface's fourinactive client negativescenarios, and the
flow-executescenario"A deactivated client can no longer start an authorization", which asserts the redirect lands on eSignet's own/errorroute and instead gets/signin.Not marked
known_issue, for the same reason as gap #1 — no thunderidengine/thunder-go issue existsyet to point the reason string at, and this one is a straightforward lockout bypass rather than an
edge case.
A second, narrower gap surfaced alongside it: PMS's
/oidc-clientssilently dropsadditionalConfigon registration — round-tripping a client withrequire_pkce/PAR/DPoP set andreading it back shows the field simply absent, no error. So on the
mosipidplugin, clientsregistered through PMS for #2455's protocol-switch coverage come back unhardened; the positive
scenarios still pass (an unhardened client accepts a hardened flow without complaint) but the three
negative ones fail, because there is nothing to refuse against. This is the "mosipid caveat" #2455
raised as unconfirmed and is now confirmed — environment-side, not an eSignet bug, and not fixable
from the client-registration path PMS exposes.
