Summary

Replaces the retired Java/REST-Assured api-test/ rig with a black-box Go API test harness for a
running eSignet (thunder-go) deployment. It runs four independent surfaces against a target and
consolidates them into one self-contained HTML report per plugin, for all three plugins —
mock, sunbird, mosipid.

Surface What it covers Where
conformance Drives the OpenID Conformance Suite oidcc-test-plan (smoke/full profiles). The suite is the OAuth client and grades; the harness plays "browser + user", walking authorize → /flow/execute → auth/callback over HTTP/JSON. cmd/conformance, internal/orchestrator, internal/esignet (stdlib-only)
client-mgmt /client-mgmt/client create/get/update — positive lifecycle + negative/edge + per-client consent configuration (consent_expire_in_mins, purpose) + mosipid client registration via PMS. bdd/ godog module — @client-mgmt, @client-mgmt-pms
flow-execute Cases the conformance suite structurally can't reach: bad executionId, missing/unknown flow type, GET /flow/meta, authorize negatives. bdd/ godog module — @flow-execute, @flow-authz-neg
e2e The harness acts as a real, self-contained OAuth client: register a throwaway client → authorize (PKCE S256) → login → token (private_key_jwt) → userinfo, asserting claims field-by-field. Full ACR matrix (otp / password / bio / kbi), positive + negative, plus consent and captcha. cmd/e2e, internal/e2e (stdlib crypto)

Everything is configuration-driven — one layered JSON config per plugin, no code change to
re-point at another plugin, environment, identity or surface subset.

Supersedes #2230 (same harness, plus the mosipid plugin, config-file-driven runs, and
consent/captcha coverage). Please review/merge this one instead.

Issue coverage

Parent design issue: #2120 — Add plugin-based API integration test rig for esignet-service
(black-box, deployable as a CronJob with HTML reporting)
.

Issue Scope Status in this PR
#2120 (parent) Four-surface harness, config-driven, consolidated HTML report, preflight ENV_NOT_READY, profile/surface/tag selection Phases 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4 delivered. Phase 5+ (CronJob manifest, report persistence, alerting, PAR/DPoP, JUnit XML) still open.
#2188 — plugin coverage: mock conformance + client-mgmt + flow/execute + e2e Closes — all four surfaces run live.
#2189 — plugin coverage: sunbird (KBI) same four surfaces at AUTHN_PROVIDER=sunbird Closes — validated end-to-end 2026-07-22.
#2190 — plugin coverage: mosip (OTP / IDA) same four surfaces at AUTHN_PROVIDER=mosip, incl. OTP_SOURCE=dynamic Harness side complete — PMS registration path, mock-SMTP WebSocket dynamic OTP, mosip e2e scenarios, config gates lifted. Left open pending a full live run against a fully-provisioned MOSIP environment.
#2209 — Docker Compose for local/CI runs + GitHub Actions workflow compose (suite + harness), Dockerfile, CI build/vet, image publish Closes — compose + multi-stage Dockerfile + build_go_apitest / build_dockers_apitest jobs. In-cluster CronJob manifest remains out of scope per that issue.
#2276 — Consent + captcha e2e coverage: mock captcha (positive/negative) + consent (prompt / stored-reuse / re-prompt-on-scope-change / deny-optional / deny-essential) in e2e-scenarios.json, plus consent-config.feature Closes — added and live-validated against the mock deployment.
#2277 — Consent + captcha e2e coverage: sunbird same captcha/consent scenarios in e2e-scenarios-sunbird.json, plus consent-config.feature Closes — added and live-validated against the sunbird deployment.

What's covered, in detail

Per-plugin surfaces

mock sunbird (KBI) mosipid (OTP/IDA)
conformance (oidcc-test-plan, smoke + full) ✅ ✅ ✅ wired (config.mosip.json)
client-mgmt (@client-mgmt, 18 scenarios) ✅ ✅ ✅
client-mgmt via PMS (@client-mgmt-pms, 3 scenarios) n/a n/a ✅
flow-execute (@flow-execute 4 + @flow-authz-neg 2) ✅ ✅ ✅
e2e scenarios 17 (e2e-scenarios.json) 9 (e2e-scenarios-sunbird.json) 13 (e2e-scenarios-mosip.json)

client-mgmt (godog, bdd/)

  • Positive lifecycle: create → get → update name/redirect URIs → deactivate → reactivate.
  • Negative/edge: empty request, missing clientId, invalid redirect URI + public key,
    invalid_public_key, invalid_additional_config, get/update an unknown client — all asserted
against the real MOSIP error envelope (HTTP 200 + errors[].errorCode, not a 4xx).
  • Consent configuration (7 scenarios): valid expiry + purpose accepted; expiry below the
10-minute minimum, non-numeric expiry, purpose with no/empty type, purpose title without an
@none default rejected; update path rejects a below-minimum expiry on an existing client.
  • PMS registration (mosipid, 3 scenarios): client created through
{PMS_BASE_URL}/oauth/client so IDA gets the partner + policy binding, then verified persisted in
eSignet; update and deactivate/reactivate through PMS.

flow-execute (godog, bdd/)

Unknown executionId (FES-1004), no flow type (FES-1005), unknown flow type (FES-1005),
GET /flow/meta positive read, and authorize negatives (unregistered redirect_uri, unknown
client id) — all against the real {code, message} contract.

e2e (cmd/e2e)

Per-plugin scenario files, each a full authorize → login → token → userinfo chain with
field-by-field claim assertions (expect_present / expect_values / expect_absent):

  • ACR matrix: otp, password, bio, kbi — positive and negative (wrong OTP, wrong password,
no biometric capture, wrong KBI full name/DOB).
  • Claims: profile scope, email scope, multi-scope release, essential claims via a claims
    request object.
  • Captcha: non-empty token accepted, empty token rejected.
  • Consent: prompt appears and approving releases the claim; stored consent reused on an
identical repeat request (no re-prompt); a changed scope set re-prompts; denying an optional claim
withholds it from userinfo; denying an essential claim is rejected.
  • mosipid: real send-OTP → verify chain, with the live OTP read from the mock-SMTP WebSocket
    when OTP_SOURCE=dynamic.

Reporting

One self-contained HTML report per run, sectioned by surface, with per-testcase Validation tab
(every expected-vs-actual check, not just the status code), full request/response trace, sensitive
value redaction, and expand/collapse at report / section / row level. Harness-side outcomes
(ENV_NOT_READY, SKIPPED_BY_HARNESS) stay distinct from real plugin failures.

Configuration & execution

  • Layered config: config.<plugin>.json (tracked, defines what runs) → config.local.json
    (gitignored, credentials/URLs) → environment (always wins — how compose/Rancher inject secrets) →
    defaults.
  • run-all.sh -c config.mock.json -s e2e --check — dry-run what would run before running it;
    RUN_SURFACES, GODOG_TAGS, run.profile (smoke/full) and run.filter select any subset.
  • cmd/cfg renders the resolved config for the nested bdd/ module (separate Go module, so it
can't import internal/config) and powers --check.

Packaging & CI (#2209)

  • Multi-stage api-test/Dockerfile (stdlib-only parent module + nested bdd/ godog module),
docker-compose.yml bringing up the conformance suite (mongodb + server + nginx, pinned tag)
alongside the harness, report written to a mounted out/.
  • push-trigger.yml: build_go_apitest (gofmt + build + vet + test on both modules; the live
TestFeatures is skipped since CI has no deployment to point at) → build_dockers_apitest
publishing a multi-platform apitest-esignet image through the shared
mosip/kattu docker-build.yml, same secrets as every other service image here.

Not in this PR (tracked under #2120 Phase 5+)

In-cluster Rancher/CronJob manifest, report persistence (S3/PVC) and publishing, failure alerting,
PAR/DPoP (FAPI2) scenarios, JUnit XML output.

Known open findings (environment, not harness)

How to verify

cd api-test
cp config.local.example.json config.local.json # esignet.base_url + keycloak.client_secret
./run-all.sh -c config.mock.json -s e2e --check # what WOULD run; nothing executes
./run-all.sh -c config.mock.json -s e2e           # -> out/<...>.html

Files touched outside api-test/: .github/workflows/push-trigger.yml (two new jobs), plus
README.md / AGENTS.md pointers.

Estimated code review effort: 5 (Critical) | ~120 minutes

Merge Risk: 🟠 High · up to afdfd

The harness adds insecure defaults and artifact-handling paths that can expose credentials or identity data, while several configuration and CI issues can cause incorrect or incomplete test results. These concrete security, availability, correctness, and merge-readiness risks should be fixed or explicitly accepted before merging.

Inline comments:
In @.github/workflows/push-trigger.yml:
- Around line 133-138: Keep action reference pinning consistent across the
workflow set: either leave actions/checkout@v4 and actions/setup-go@v5 tag-based
like existing workflow references, or apply SHA pinning to every action and
reusable-workflow reference across all workflows if adopting that policy. Do not
pin only these steps, and preserve the go-version value.

In `@api-test/bdd/engine_test.go`:
- Around line 95-103: Update writeEnvelope to create directories with 0750 and
write artifacts through OpenFile with 0600, then enforce 0600 on existing files
via Chmod. Before constructing Envelope values, redact sensitive JSON
fields—including raw request/response bodies and assertion values—and remove or
redact sensitive URL query values so credentials, tokens, and identity data are
not persisted.

In `@api-test/bdd/features/client-mgmt/create-client.feature`:
- Around line 43-63: Update the scenario “Create rejects an invalid redirect URI
and public key” to cover only invalid redirect URI validation: replace the
malformed inline publicKey with the generated RSA public key from the “pubjwk”
step, and rename the scenario to reflect that only the redirect URI is invalid.
Preserve the existing invalid_input response assertion.

In `@api-test/bdd/features/client-mgmt/create-update-client-pms.feature`:
- Around line 90-95: Update the scenario assertions around the PUT and
subsequent GET: assert the changed client name and both redirect URIs using
fields exposed by the PUT response, rather than relying on the unchanged ACTIVE
status from the GET. Correct the “confirm the update landed in eSignet” comment
to reflect the observable verification, while retaining the GET status check
only if it remains relevant.

In `@api-test/bdd/features/client-mgmt/create-update-client-positive.feature`:
- Around line 3-8: Update the feature description near the create/get/update
summary to identify /client-mgmt/client as the shared eSignet client-management
endpoint for mock, Sunbird, and MOSIP plugins, and remove the incorrect PMS
endpoint claim. Keep the description consistent with
create-update-client-pms.feature, which reserves PMS /oauth/client for the
mosipid-specific alternative.

In `@api-test/bdd/steps.go`:
- Around line 284-290: The Keycloak token request error in the token-fetching
flow must not include response-body content. Replace the `snippet(body)` detail
in the non-OK `resp.StatusCode` error with status code only, while preserving
the existing missing-`access_token` validation.
- Around line 405-415: In the status-class switch flow, update the `ok`
declaration in the surrounding step function to use a bare boolean declaration
without an initial `false` value. Keep the existing assignments in the `"2xx"`,
`"4xx"`, and `"5xx"` cases and the unknown-class error return unchanged.
- Around line 181-219: Update doClient to accept a context.Context and build
requests with it, then propagate the scenario context through do, doNoFollow,
and all three step callers. Preserve the existing request handling and response
recording while ensuring in-flight HTTP calls honor cancellation and deadlines.
- Around line 535-554: Update the envelope construction around Envelope.Calls so
every HTTP call preserves At, Repeat, ReqCookies, and RespCookies when converted
from result.HTTPCall to Call. Populate these fields before marshaling, while
retaining the existing call data and ordering.

In `@api-test/cmd/cfg/main.go`:
- Around line 104-135: Update the shell command flow that evaluates the output
of the cfg export function to disable Bash tracing with set +x before capturing
the resolved environment, while preserving the existing error handling, eval,
and cleanup behavior. Ensure tracing is disabled before the command substitution
that invokes run_cfg so exported secrets from exports are not written to CI
logs.
- Around line 97-103: The comment describing the exports function overstates its
scope by implying every BDD variable comes from resolved config. Update the
`exports` comment to identify `BDD_ENVELOPE_OUT` as supplied by `run-all.sh`,
and note that conformance and E2E-only variables are loaded by their respective
binaries.

In `@api-test/cmd/conformance/main.go`:
- Around line 62-67: Update the partial-report handling around report.Write in
the run.Modules branch to add an else path that logs werr when writing fails,
while preserving the existing success log and process exit behavior.

In `@api-test/cmd/e2e/main.go`:
- Around line 238-249: Update writeEnvelope to create the envelope file with
owner-only permissions by changing the os.WriteFile mode from 0o644 to 0o600;
leave directory creation and serialization behavior unchanged.
- Around line 171-178: Update fetchDiscovery and its caller in main to validate
the discovery document’s d.Issuer against the configured ESIGNET_BASE_URL,
rejecting mismatches before returning or using the discovery endpoints. Preserve
the existing missing-endpoint validation and error behavior for valid issuers.

In `@api-test/config.mock.json`:
- Around line 2-18: Update the _comment block in config.mock.json to explicitly
document that the overlay must provide esignet.base_url for the bdd and e2e
surfaces, plus keycloak.token_url and keycloak.client_secret for e2e; keep the
existing explanation of FLOW_CLIENT_ID and plan-specific overlay requirements
intact.

In `@api-test/e2e-scenarios-mosip.json`:
- Around line 69-73: Remove the global scenario-order dependency from the
stored-consent reuse assertions: update the reuse scenarios in
api-test/e2e-scenarios-mosip.json:69-73,
api-test/e2e-scenarios-sunbird.json:44-48, and
api-test/e2e-scenarios.json:100-104 so each establishes the required prior
consent approval itself, or combines approval and repeat requests into one
scenario. Preserve the no-prompt expectation for the identical repeat request.
- Around line 47-52: Replace the fixed positive CAPTCHA token in the positive
CAPTCHA scenarios with a deployment-provided valid-token strategy that works
when MOSIP_ESIGNET_CAPTCHA_VALIDATOR_URL is configured, or skip the positive
case when no valid token source exists. Apply this change in
api-test/e2e-scenarios-mosip.json lines 47-52,
api-test/e2e-scenarios-sunbird.json lines 22-27, and api-test/e2e-scenarios.json
lines 77-82; leave each empty-token negative case unchanged.

In `@api-test/internal/config/config_test.go`:
- Around line 490-498: Extend the redaction tests by replacing the single-field
coverage in TestRedactedMasksKeycloakSecret with a table-driven assertion
covering every identity and secret field, including
Esignet.Credentials.Username. Add TestRedactJWKMaterialMasksNonStringValues
using JSON unmarshalling to verify array/object values such as oth and nested
client_secret data are masked, and import encoding/json for the test.
- Around line 193-200: Make the e2e-only configuration test hermetic by creating
the spec fixture under the test’s t.TempDir() and setting e2e.spec to that
fixture’s path, rather than using ../../e2e-scenarios.json. Update the
writeLayers setup in the relevant test while preserving the existing Load
validation.

In `@api-test/internal/config/config.go`:
- Around line 898-920: Update Config.Redacted to mask
clone.Esignet.Credentials.Username alongside the existing password and identity
fields. Preserve the value-typed shallow-copy approach and ensure the redacted
configuration covers individualId, username, fullName, and dob.
- Around line 802-827: Normalize Esignet.Provider, Esignet.OTP.Source, and
Run.Profile once in defaults using lowercase conversion, then update
ValidateSurface and validate to compare the normalized values with exact
matches. Remove redundant lowercasing in the provider defaulting logic while
preserving the existing accepted values and validation errors across all entry
points.
- Around line 957-975: Update RedactJWKMaterial so every value matching a
privateJWKParams key or a key containing “secret” is replaced with
"***redacted***" whenever val is non-nil, regardless of its type. Keep nil
values unchanged and continue processing unmatched map entries and arrays
recursively.

In `@api-test/internal/e2e/crypto.go`:
- Around line 33-43: Update publicJWK to read the embedded public key directly
from priv instead of asserting the result of priv.Public() to *rsa.PublicKey.
Keep the existing JWK fields and encoding behavior unchanged.

In `@api-test/internal/e2e/e2e_test.go`:
- Around line 400-435: Extend TestRSAPubFromJWKRejectsInvalidBase64 or add a
focused table-driven test for rsaPubFromJWK covering an empty exponent, E
encoded as “AQ” (value 1), and an exponent greater than MaxInt32; assert each
case returns an error while keeping the existing valid modulus and
invalid-base64 coverage unchanged.

In `@api-test/internal/e2e/e2e.go`:
- Line 559: Handle the error returned by json.Marshal at the occurrences near
lines 559, 597, and 647 instead of discarding it. Ensure marshalling failures
are returned or otherwise propagated before posting the request, so no empty
body is sent and errchkjson passes.
- Around line 292-300: Thread a root context from main through every E2E HTTP
path so requests are cancellable. In api-test/internal/e2e/e2e.go lines 292-300,
add ctx to Runner.do and use http.NewRequestWithContext; in
api-test/internal/e2e/crypto.go lines 172-192, thread ctx through fetchJWKS,
verifyJWS, and parseUserinfo and use it when calling Do; in
api-test/cmd/e2e/main.go lines 188 and 221, replace client.Post/client.Get in
keycloakToken and httpGet with context-bound requests and client.Do. Create the
root context beside the existing context.Background() at line 112 and pass it
through all callers.
- Around line 304-316: Update the HTTP recording flow around the request-body
assignment and `rec.RespBody` in the method containing `r.httpClient().Do(req)`
to redact token-endpoint credentials before persisting them. Apply the existing
redaction policy to `form.Encode()` so `client_assertion` and authorization
`code` are not recorded, and redact `access_token` and `id_token` from token
response bodies before assigning `rec.RespBody`; preserve other response content
and existing userinfo claims.
- Around line 629-668: Update the flow around codeFromRedirect and the
subsequent token exchange to pass the generated state and reject redirects whose
returned state does not match. After receiving the token response, decode
tok.IDToken with decodeJWTPayload and validate that its nonce claim equals the
generated nonce, returning an error on mismatch or a missing claim.

In `@api-test/internal/e2e/helpers.go`:
- Around line 32-39: Update the JWS handling in the userinfo claims flow so an
empty jwksURI still records a _jws_verified marker and causes assertClaims to
emit a signature assertion rather than silently passing. Preserve the existing
verifyJWS success and error markers when jwksURI is available, and set the
empty-URI case to the appropriate unverified state with an explanatory
_jws_error.

In `@api-test/internal/esignet/driver.go`:
- Around line 224-240: Update the purpose decision construction in the
consent-building loop so d.Approved is derived from the element decisions,
becoming false when every element in that purpose is denied by policy, including
named Deny entries and DenyAll. Preserve approval for purposes with at least one
approved element, and avoid relying solely on policy.DenyAll.

In `@api-test/internal/orchestrator/run.go`:
- Around line 269-312: Guard the poll interval initialization in the run loop
before it is used by time.Sleep. Ensure o.cfg.Run.PollIntervalSeconds values of
zero or less are replaced with the same positive minimum used by WaitOTP, while
preserving configured positive intervals.

In `@api-test/internal/report/html.go`:
- Line 152: Restrict report artifact permissions in the directory creation and
file-writing logic: change MkdirAll in the report-generation flow to use 0o750,
set the sidecar JSON written by os.WriteFile to 0o600, and create the HTML
artifact via os.OpenFile with write/create/truncate flags and mode 0o600. Update
the relevant report-generation symbols around the existing MkdirAll, WriteFile,
and HTML creation calls.
- Around line 197-199: Update the report Write flow to propagate both sidecar
JSON marshal/write failures around json.MarshalIndent and os.WriteFile, and the
deferred file-close failure in the HTML write path around f.Close. Ensure Write
returns the first encountered error instead of reporting success, including
errors surfaced when closing the buffered file.

In `@api-test/internal/wsotp/listener.go`:
- Around line 37-42: Remove the unused msg field and stop storing the full mail
message when constructing record values; retain only at, otp, and dest, and
update any related initialization or references while preserving match behavior.
- Around line 76-78: Update the WSOTP_DEBUG raw-frame logging controlled by the
listener initialization around l.dbgFrames so sensitive OTP and recipient values
are not emitted. Change the frame output path near the existing debug print to
log a shape-preserving, masked representation using the existing OTP-matching
and truncation helpers or equivalent behavior, while retaining the three-frame
limit and avoiding raw JSON values.

In `@api-test/internal/wsotp/ws.go`:
- Around line 208-254: Bound the accumulated message in readMessage by applying
the same maxFrame limit to msg after each data or continuation payload append,
returning the existing frame-size error when the limit is exceeded. Move
maxFrame to package scope so readMessage and the frame-reading logic share the
same guard, while preserving normal fragmented-message reassembly within the
limit.
- Around line 344-388: Update conn.writeFrame to bound every client frame write
by setting a write deadline when frameTimeout is positive, and clear it
afterward without replacing the write result. Preserve behavior for directly
constructed connections with a zero frameTimeout by skipping deadline setup.

In `@api-test/run-all.sh`:
- Around line 153-161: Update the readiness probe in the run-all flow to make
curl’s TLS verification behavior follow the resolved verification flag exported
by the preceding eval. Include -k only when verification is disabled, while
retaining certificate validation when the flag enables verification; preserve
the existing retry, timeout, and failure behavior.

Fixes the review findings that held up against the code, across all four
surfaces. Skipped findings are noted at the end.

Security / data handling
- Report, bdd envelope and e2e envelope are written 0600 into 0750 dirs:
they carry userinfo claims, and the two envelopes are intermediate files
that internal/report's redaction pass has not run over yet.
- Redacted() masks esignet.credentials.username — a login identifier on
every plugin but mock, already masked in the wire trace.
- RedactJWKMaterial masks non-string values under a matched key, so an RSA
`oth` array (RFC 7518 other-primes info) no longer walks past the mask.
- The Keycloak token error no longer embeds the response body, which a
gateway can populate with the posted client_secret.
- run-all.sh disables shell tracing around the eval of the resolved config
  (TEST_PASSWORD, TEST_OTP, KEYCLOAK_CLIENT_SECRET), and its readiness
probe honours CONFORMANCE_TLS_VERIFY instead of always passing curl -k.
- wsotp keeps only the fields match() reads, not the whole mail message.

Correctness
- e2e asserts the state and nonce echoes: codeFromRedirect rejects a
callback whose state is not the one sent, and the id_token nonce is
checked against the authorize request. Both land in the Validation tab.
- parseUserinfo records _jws_verified=false when discovery has no
jwks_uri, so an unverified JWT can no longer report a clean PASS.
- Discovery endpoints must share the discovery host, so a tampered
document cannot redirect the access token or client assertion elsewhere.
- The consent driver derives a purpose's Approved flag from its element
decisions, so denying every element by name matches deny_all instead of
submitting Approved:true over an all-denied list.
- Provider/otp.source/run.profile are normalized once in defaults(), so
  validate's exact-match switches and ValidateSurface's EqualFold
comparisons no longer disagree about casing by entry point.
- The conformance poll interval has a floor: a zero value turned the wait
into a hot loop against the suite for the whole timeout window.
- writeFrame sets a write deadline; without it a peer that stops reading
blocks close(), and through it Listener.Close and the whole run.
- Fragment reassembly is bounded by the same maxFrame cap as one frame.
- Report write errors are returned: a lost sidecar surfaced later as a
confusing "no such file" from consolidate, and a truncated HTML report
was reported as good. cmd/conformance logs a failed partial write.

Lint / hygiene
- context.Context threaded through every HTTP call in the bdd and e2e
surfaces (noctx), json.Marshal errors checked (errchkjson), unchecked
type assertion removed (forcetypeassert), wasted assignment dropped.

Tests
- Redacted() pins the full masked field set; RedactJWKMaterial covers
non-string values; rsaPubFromJWK covers the exponent/modulus guards; the
e2e-only validation case uses a hermetic spec fixture instead of a
  repo-relative path.

Features / docs
- The invalid-redirect-URI scenario no longer also sends a malformed
public key, so it does not depend on server validation order.
- The PMS update scenario asserts errors:null on the PUT rather than
resting on an ACTIVE status the client already had.
- Corrected the positive client-mgmt feature description (client-mgmt, not
PMS) and documented what config.mock.json still needs from the overlay.

Not changed: the fixed positive CAPTCHA token and the consent-reuse
scenario ordering (both by design, documented in the spec files); masking
WSOTP_DEBUG frames (the flag exists to inspect those frames); a Dockerfile
HEALTHCHECK (one-shot batch job); workflow action pinning (repo-wide
policy, not this PR's).

Inline comments:
In `@api-test/.env.example`:
- Around line 57-60: Document the ID_TYPE environment variable alongside
INDIVIDUAL_ID in api-test/.env.example, noting that it selects the identifier
type when INDIVIDUAL_ID is not a phone number. Ensure the documented variable
reflects the existing conformance mapping and separate E2E configuration.

In `@api-test/bdd/engine_test.go`:
- Around line 99-107: Update writeEnvelope to explicitly enforce mode 0600 after
writing, because os.WriteFile does not alter permissions on an existing file.
Preserve the current directory creation, JSON marshaling, and write error
handling, and ensure both newly created and pre-existing envelope files end with
owner-only permissions.

In `@api-test/bdd/features/client-mgmt/create-client.feature`:
- Around line 22-41: Update the “Create rejects a missing clientId” scenario
body so all fields other than clientId are valid, replacing the malformed
publicKey value with a valid key consistent with the existing create-client
validation fixtures. Preserve the request and assertions, isolating the expected
invalid_input result to the missing clientId.

In `@api-test/bdd/steps.go`:
- Around line 216-217: Update both response-body cleanup sites in the relevant
step functions, including the one near respBody and the second site around the
later response handling, to explicitly handle the error returned by
resp.Body.Close instead of discarding it. Preserve the existing body-reading
behavior while satisfying errcheck at both locations.
- Around line 309-321: Update pmsRegistrationIsConfigured to report the actual
environment variable names used by the Before hook and feature configuration:
PMS_BASE_URL, AUTH_PARTNER_ID, and AUTH_POLICY_ID. Replace the derived
strings.ToUpper(k) labels with an explicit mapping from stash keys to these
names while preserving the existing missing-variable detection and ENV_NOT_READY
format.

In `@api-test/cmd/e2e/main.go`:
- Around line 182-191: Update sameHost and its discovery validation call site to
compare URL schemes as well as hosts, rejecting any endpoint that downgrades the
configured HTTPS origin to HTTP. After fetchDiscovery returns in main, normalize
the issuer by trimming trailing slashes and require it to equal the configured
ESIGNET_BASE_URL before continuing.
- Around line 258-272: Update httpGet to limit response-body reads to a defined
maximum size before returning the body, using a bounded reader with io.ReadAll.
Preserve the existing status-code and error propagation behavior, and return an
error when the response exceeds the configured limit.

In `@api-test/docker-compose.yml`:
- Around line 122-123: Update the comment above the config.local.json bind mount
to state that the gitignored host file must be created before starting the
harness, or otherwise guard the mount so Docker cannot substitute a directory
when the file is absent. Keep the existing read-only overlay behavior and
clarify the operator prerequisite.

In `@api-test/internal/conformance/client.go`:
- Line 288: Update doAbs to accept and pass a context.Context to
http.NewRequestWithContext, then thread that context through Available,
CreatePlan, CreateTest, GetInfo, GetRunner, GetRawLog, and DeliverCallback;
update the caller in orchestrator run.go to provide its existing
context.Background(). Also handle the error returned by resp.Body.Close in doAbs
so it satisfies errcheck without changing the existing response behavior.
- Around line 322-334: Consolidate the duplicate rune-safe truncation logic into
a shared internal textx helper with signature (s string, n int, suffix string).
In api-test/internal/conformance/client.go lines 322-334, replace snippet’s
implementation with the helper using 400 and …; in
api-test/internal/esignet/driver.go lines 694-703, replace truncate with the
helper while keeping snippet as a thin wrapper passing 300; and in
api-test/internal/orchestrator/run.go lines 681-690, replace truncateStr with
the helper using \n…(truncated).
- Around line 288-312: Propagate context through
api-test/internal/conformance/client.go lines 288-312 by adding ctx to do and
doAbs, threading it through Available, CreatePlan, CreateTest, GetInfo,
GetRunner, GetRawLog, and DeliverCallback, and using http.NewRequestWithContext;
wrap resp.Body.Close in an ignored-error defer. Apply the same changes in
api-test/internal/esignet/driver.go lines 317-351: add ctx to session.do, thread
it through Run, run, and completeLogin, use NewRequestWithContext, and handle
response-body close errors. Seed both call paths from the context held by
api-test/internal/orchestrator/run.go.
- Around line 182-213: Remove the unused Client.GetLog method and the LogEntry
type it depends on, keeping Client.GetRawLog as the sole log-retrieval path.
Verify no remaining references require either symbol.
- Around line 297-305: Restrict the Authorization header in doAbs to requests
targeting the configured suite host. Add the Client.isSuiteHost helper using
c.baseURL and require matching scheme and host before attaching c.token;
preserve the existing cloned-header redaction for captured requests.

In `@api-test/internal/e2e/e2e.go`:
- Around line 393-436: Include protoAsserts in row.Assertions in all three
login-failure branches of runScenario: expected rejection, unexpected rejection,
and unexpected acceptance. Append them alongside consentAssertions before
failedConditions are evaluated, preserving the existing login assertions and
ensuring protocol/state-echo results affect the reported outcome.

In `@api-test/internal/esignet/driver_test.go`:
- Around line 143-166: Add a test alongside TestBuildConsentDecisionDenyAll that
calls buildConsentDecision with ConsentPolicy{Deny: []string{"name", "email"}}
and verifies both elements are denied and the resulting purpose’s Approved flag
is false. This must specifically exercise the all-elements-denied-by-name path,
distinct from the existing DenyAll and partial-denial cases.

In `@api-test/internal/esignet/driver.go`:
- Line 424: Handle the json.Marshal error at the call near line 424 instead of
discarding it, and update mustJSON so its panic-or-error behavior matches its
name while handling the Marshal error internally. Apply the same correction to
the related marshal call used by mustJSON near line 650, preserving the existing
behavior for the supported map payload shapes.
- Line 317: Fix both lint issues in session.do and the corresponding request
flow in conformance client.go: thread a context.Context through Run, run, and
completeLogin, then use http.NewRequestWithContext when constructing the
request; also handle the error returned by resp.Body.Close. Apply the same
changes to both affected implementations while preserving their existing
behavior.
- Around line 640-645: Update the Stage 5 navigation fallback in the
action-selection logic to first choose a candidate matching the configured
preferred actions, using the existing preferred signal before defaulting to
candidates[0]. Preserve the current fallback and ambiguity behavior when no
preferred navigation candidate matches, and add the nav-honours-preference
coverage to TestSelectAction.

In `@api-test/internal/httpx/httpx.go`:
- Around line 15-23: Annotate the InsecureSkipVerify assignment in NewClient
with a scoped `#nosec` G402 directive and justification that it is
operator-controlled for self-signed conformance suites. Preserve the existing
tlsVerify behavior and ensure callers continue defaulting tlsVerify to true for
real identity-data deployments.

In `@api-test/internal/report/html.go`:
- Around line 344-352: Add a targeted errchkjson suppression directive to the
json.Marshal call in safeJSON, preserving the existing discarded error and
behavior while documenting that marshaling a string cannot fail.
- Around line 888-913: Update redactSensitiveMode so any value under
containsSensitiveKey (or request identity keys) is replaced with the redaction
marker before recursion, including map[string]any and []any composites; do not
walk sensitive subtrees. Preserve existing handling for empty strings and
non-sensitive values, and add regression coverage in
TestRedactBodyMasksCompositeUnderSensitiveKey for object and array leaks.

In `@api-test/internal/result/result.go`:
- Around line 113-132: Update CollapseCalls to copy the input calls slice before
sort.SliceStable operates on it, then sort and collapse the copy while leaving
the caller’s original slice unchanged. Preserve the existing grouping, Repeat,
and Seq behavior on the returned slice.

In `@api-test/internal/wsotp/listener.go`:
- Around line 71-79: Update Listener.Start to lock l.mu before checking or
setting l.started, and keep the lock held while initializing the related
lifecycle fields l.cancel and l.done. Ensure all accesses to these fields in
Start are synchronized consistently with WaitOTP and the background goroutine,
while preserving the existing early return for an already-started listener.

In `@api-test/internal/wsotp/ws.go`:
- Line 366: Add targeted //nolint directives for the three safe uint8 narrowing
conversions in the frame-header construction: the opcode expression, the guarded
short-length value, and the guarded uint16-length value. Include concise
justification in each directive, preserving the existing opcode constants and
length-switch bounds while satisfying golangci-lint G115 and ast-grep.
- Around line 112-127: Update the dialing flow in Listener.Start to use the
received context for cancellation, replacing tls.DialWithDialer and d.Dial with
context-aware dialing while preserving the timeout behavior and existing error
handling. Set tls.Config.MinVersion explicitly to tls.VersionTLS12 in the wss
branch, leaving the gated InsecureSkipVerify configuration unchanged.
- Around line 277-283: Update readFrame to reject masked server frames
immediately after parsing the header, remove the mask-key read and payload
unmasking logic, and preserve both errStreamDesync and underlying errors by
changing the specified %v wrappers to %w. Adjust TestReadFrameMaskedRoundTrip to
assert rejection, while testing client masking separately.

nandhu-kumar added a commit to nandhu-kumar/esignet that referenced this pull request Aug 12, 2026
defaults() already normalizes esignet.provider to lowercase before any
caller reaches validate() or ValidateSurface (mosip#2357 review), but the
individual_id requirement check still used EqualFold, unlike the
otp.source/run.profile compares next to it. Match those now that the
case-insensitivity is handled once, upstream.

Adds the two pieces the mock/sunbird harness deliberately left out:

internal/wsotp mock-SMTP WebSocket listener supplying the
                             live OTP for OTP_SOURCE=dynamic
e2e-scenarios-mosip.json e2e scenarios for the UIN identity

and lifts the config-validation gates so AUTHN_PROVIDER=mosip and
OTP_SOURCE=dynamic are accepted. The PMS client-registration path
(config.PMS, e2e.registerClient) already shipped with the harness; it was
unreachable until now.

Signed-off-by: Nandhukumar <nandhukumare@gmail.com>
Configures the harness from a layered JSON file instead of exported env
vars, so each plugin/surface/scenario combination can be run manually
without re-exporting a dozen variables per switch.

Layering: config.<plugin>.json (tracked, defines what runs) -> optional
config.local.json (gitignored, credentials/URLs) -> environment (always
wins, how compose/Rancher inject secrets) -> defaults().

- internal/config: new run.surfaces, keycloak.*, bdd.*, e2e.* sections;
overlay merge via mergeFile; surface-scoped validate() so an e2e-only
run isn't rejected for missing conformance fields; ValidateSurface
lets a single-surface binary enforce its own requirements even when
  run.surfaces omits it.
- internal/e2e: Filter/Select narrows a spec's scenarios by auth_factor
and name regex, keeping client-registration fields intact; empty
result is an error, not a silent green run.
- cmd/e2e, cmd/conformance: load config.Load instead of raw os.Getenv.
- cmd/cfg: new — renders the resolved config as -print-env (the only
bridge into the bdd/ module, which is a separate Go module and can't
import internal/config), -get for shell branching, -check for a
  human-readable dry run.
- run-all.sh: reads plugin/surfaces from the config; --check; an
explicitly named but missing config file is a hard error rather than
  a silent fallback to defaults.
- config.mock/mosip/sunbird.json (tracked) + config.local.example.json
(overlay template) replace the single gitignored config.json.
- Dockerfile ships the three tracked configs; docker-compose.yml mounts
  CONFIG_FILE + config.local.json and drops the ~25-var env block.

- Redacted() masks esignet.credentials.username — a login identifier on
every plugin but mock, already masked in the wire trace.

CodeRabbit's automatic review of the previous fix commit had been
attempted while rate-limited and produced no output; a fresh
@coderabbitai review after the window cleared found 26 new findings
against the same diff. This addresses the ones that held up.

Security
- conformance.Client scopes the suite's bearer token to the suite's own
  host: DeliverCallback follows redirect_uri/implicitSubmitUrl values
taken from (and scraped out of) the deployment under test, so an
unscoped Authorization header would have hand the suite admin token
to whatever host that deployment names.
- cmd/e2e's discovery check (sameHost, from the prior review pass) is
now sameOrigin: it also compares scheme, so a token/userinfo/jwks
endpoint on the same host but http:// no longer passes and downgrades
the client assertion and access token to cleartext. main also checks
the discovery issuer against the configured esignet.base_url.
- html.go's redactSensitiveMode now masks a map/array value under a
sensitive key as a whole instead of recursing into it and re-testing
  only the inner key names — a JWK under "secret" or {"otp":["111111"]}
  no longer survives redaction.
- The bdd envelope enforces 0600 even when the file already exists
  (os.WriteFile doesn't change an existing file's mode).
- wsotp's readFrame rejects a masked "server" frame outright (RFC 6455
§5.1) instead of silently unmasking it. dial() takes a context so a
cancelled run aborts a hanging TLS handshake, and states its TLS
MinVersion explicitly. Listener.Start guards started/cancel/done with
the mutex the rest of the type already uses.

Correctness
- e2e's protoAsserts (the state/nonce echo assertions from the prior
pass) now land in the report on all three login-failure branches, not
only the positive path — a state-mismatch rejection was reporting
PASSED with no trace of the mismatch it caught.
- esignet.Driver's Stage 5 action fallback (navigation-only candidates)
now applies the caller's preferred tokens before taking the first
candidate, so a configured login-id type (e.g. email) is no longer
silently overridden by whichever tab the server listed first.
- result.CollapseCalls sorts a copy instead of the caller's slice in
place, matching every other transform in this harness.
- The bdd steps.go PMS-not-configured message now names the actual env
  vars (PMS_BASE_URL/AUTH_PARTNER_ID/AUTH_POLICY_ID) instead of a
naive uppercase of the internal stash keys, two of which don't exist.

Hygiene
- context.Context threaded through every remaining HTTP call in
conformance.Client and esignet.Driver (noctx), with Close() errors
checked and json.Marshal errors handled or given a panic contract
  (errchkjson) rather than discarded.
- The three independent snippet/truncate implementations (conformance,
esignet, orchestrator) are now one internal/textx.Truncate.
- gosec annotations recorded with their justification (G402 TLS
verification, three G115 narrowing conversions in ws.go) instead of
silently tripping a scanner with no explanation on record.
- Discovery response reads are capped (1MB) so a misbehaving endpoint
can't exhaust memory before the payload is parsed.

Tests
- New: consent-deny-every-element-by-name regression, Stage 5
  preference-honoring case, composite-value redaction case, and a
  rewritten wsotp masking test pair (client masking verified directly;
a masked "server" frame is asserted rejected instead of accepted).

Declined (see PR review thread for each): a %v->%w change that would
have broken errStreamDesync's deliberate opacity to errors. As, since it
exists specifically so a mid-frame timeout is never mistaken for a
retryable one — a test caught the regression before it landed.

Signed-off-by: Nandhukumar <nandhukumare@gmail.com>
Automatic review of the force-pushed commit found 9 new findings; 8 fixed here.

- bdd: the gated @client-mgmt-pms surface (mosip provider, PMS_BASE_URL
unset) had no compensating ENV_NOT_READY row, unlike the client-mgmt
and flow-authz-neg gates right above it — the exact false-green the
surrounding code exists to prevent. Report: ENV_NOT_READY rows
(Result/Status both empty by design) rendered as a blank badge instead
of a label; displayResult now has an explicit case, with a test.
- cmd/conformance: context.Background() was never cancelled, so Ctrl-C
or a scheduler SIGTERM killed the process before the partial-report
branch could run. signal.NotifyContext on SIGINT/SIGTERM now lets an
in-flight call return and the run reach that branch.
- cmd/e2e: the OTP wait and HTTP client timeout were hardcoded at 90s
instead of using run.timeout_seconds/poll_interval_seconds, the same
knobs the conformance surface already honors — TIMEOUT_SECONDS changed
one surface's behaviour but not the other's.
- internal/e2e: httpClient() duplicated httpx.NewClient's TLS setup
instead of calling it, so the two policies could drift; two more
  unchecked resp.Body.Close() sites.
- internal/report: the html.go copy of the truncate helper was the one
I said I'd consolidated last round but missed — now routes through
textx.Truncate like the other three call sites.

Declined again: the same %w:%w change in wsotp/ws.go from the prior
pass, re-flagged as a new comment on unchanged code (the bot has no
visibility into the earlier explanation on a since-resolved thread).
Reasoning is unchanged: errStreamDesync is deliberately opaque to
errors.As so a mid-frame timeout is never mistaken for a retryable one;
TestReadFrameMidFrameTimeoutIsNotRetryable still catches the regression.

Every run of three or more consecutive // lines in the Go sources is
reduced to a single concise line. Build directives are untouched; the
one wrapped //nolint justification in httpx is folded onto its
directive line. No behaviour change - build, vet and tests pass on
both modules.

Addresses the review on mosip#2357.

Surface rename (bdd -> api). "bdd" named the tool, not what the surface
tests. The surface drives individual eSignet REST endpoints — client-mgmt
CRUD and flow/execute — as distinct from the suite-driven conformance
surface and the journey-driven e2e one, so the triad now reads
conformance | api | e2e. This renames the config key, the SURFACES value,
the env prefix (BDD_TLS_VERIFY -> API_TLS_VERIFY, BDD_ENVELOPE_OUT ->
API_ENVELOPE_OUT), the module directory, the compiled test binary and the
envelope filename.

Common data folder. Everything the run reads that is not code now lives
under data/, with one subfolder per kind:

data/features/ Gherkin features (left the Go module)
  data/config/ per-plugin configs + templates
  data/scenarios/ e2e scenario specs
  data/conformance/ suite profiles + the plan-config template

api/ keeps only Go sources. Callers move with it: -c data/config/config.
mosip.json, e2e.spec defaults, the orchestrator's profile lookup, the
compose bind mounts and the image's COPY set.

conformance-config.example.json. plan-config.example.json is renamed so
the filename says which surface the config belongs to.

Feature files by endpoint. Positive and negative scenarios for the same
endpoint were in separate files, so no one file described an endpoint's
behaviour. They are merged and the tree is organised by endpoint: create-
client, get-client and update-client each carry their own success and
rejection cases; the flow files are named for the endpoint they drive.
Nine files become eight, and the Feature: lines now name the HTTP method
and path.

Single Dockerfile builder stage. builder-main and builder-bdd duplicated
the toolchain setup for two modules that never conflicted; one stage
builds both, still copying go.mod/go.sum ahead of the sources so the
dependency layer caches independently.

Dead step removed. theResponseStatusShouldBeClass had no feature-file
caller and its phrasing was one quoted argument away from the numeric
theResponseStatusShouldBe, which is the one every scenario uses. Its only
helper, statusClass, goes with it.

Also widens .gitignore to cover the pre-data/ overlay paths, so a clone
that still has config.local.json at the old root cannot commit it now
that the tracked patterns have moved.

… docs/

Addresses the review on mosip#2357.

The README was 949 lines written from the inside out: it opened with the
harness's own architecture, mixed reference material into the walkthrough,
and put MOSIP-ID-only setup — PMS registration, AUTH_PARTNER_ID,
AUTH_POLICY_ID, the OTP WebSocket and its parsing rule — in the path of
every reader, most of whom are not running that plugin.

The main README now answers, in order, what a new user actually asks:
what this is, what the surfaces test and what each one needs, where
things live, what to set up, how to configure it, and how to run it. Each
execution route is spelled out with the command and the config it needs:
run-all.sh, a single surface directly, consolidating existing results,
Docker Compose, and docker run.

Internal behaviour that a consumer cannot act on is gone — the note that
all three plugins run on every surface, the ENV_NOT_READY mechanics, the
dated sunbird validation counts. What survives is what changes a reader's
decision: that a not-run entry means unconfigured rather than failed, and
that an empty environment variable overrides a config file rather than
falling back to it.

Five documents under docs/ take the reference material:

configuration.md every field, the full env table, TLS, what runs
conformance-suite.md suite setup, plan config, secure provisioning
mosip-id.md PMS registration and dynamic OTP, in one place
e2e-scenarios.md scenario model, consent and captcha coverage
troubleshooting.md symptom to cause, per surface

conformance-suite.md also answers the deployment question the review
raised: the plan config carries a private JWKS, so it documents supplying
it as a Kubernetes Secret volume or a Docker secret, mounted read-only at
the path plans[].config_file already names — and PLAN_<n>_CONFIG_PATH for
when it cannot be. It says explicitly not to pass it as an environment
variable, which is visible in kubectl describe and the Rancher UI.

…stack

Verifying the restructure end to end — docker build, docker compose, and the
api surface against a live deployment — turned up five defects, three of
them introduced by the restructure itself.

Secrets no longer reach the image. Replacing the Dockerfile's three-file
COPY allow-list with `COPY data ./data` meant .dockerignore became the only
thing standing between a developer's overlay and the published image, and
it excluded two exact filenames. config.local.mosip.json — real client
secret, real individual id — was verified present in a built image. The
patterns now match by shape, mirroring .gitignore, negation for the tracked
placeholder template included.

The api surface can no longer silently report green. run-all.sh's BIN_DIR
branch stopped cd-ing into the module, but only the Dockerfile exported
API_FEATURES_DIR, so a prebuilt run outside the image pointed godog at a
path that does not exist. godog reports that as "0 scenarios", TestFeatures
discards the suite status, and an empty envelope was written — satisfying
run-all.sh's exists-check and consolidating to a green report with no api
rows at all. run-all.sh now exports the path itself, and TestFeatures fails
outright when the directory is missing rather than writing that envelope.

Compose mounted the overlay where nothing reads it. The credentials overlay
is looked up beside the SELECTED config, which compose mounts at
/app/config.json; mounting it under /app/data/config/ left every credential
in it unread.

A renamed config block is rejected, not dropped. json.Unmarshal ignores
unknown keys, so an overlay still carrying "bdd" lost that whole block in
silence — including tls_verify:false, which fails closed against a
self-signed deployment and reads as a certificate fault rather than a stale
config. Load now names the block and the rename.

Three merged scenarios asserted a field the API omits. The client-mgmt
success shape is {responseTime, response}, with no "errors" key at all, so
the "errors should be null" assertions added while merging the positive and
negative files failed against a perfectly good create. The clientId and
status assertions already prove acceptance: a rejected request returns
"response": null and fails them. The PMS feature's identical assertion is
untouched — different endpoint, different shape, and it did not run here.

Verified after the fixes: 24 of 24 api scenarios pass against a live
deployment through docker compose, exit 0. The e2e surface fails there for
an unrelated reason — that deployment's discovery endpoint returns HTTP
500 — and the harness correctly fails the run rather than reporting green.

Docs follow: the path and diagnostic variables get a table of their own,
the two new failure modes join the troubleshooting list, and the compose
section notes that Git Bash rewrites container-side paths unless
MSYS_NO_PATHCONV=1 is set.

Merging the two builder stages left two `cd` calls inside RUN instructions —
one to download the nested module's dependencies, one to compile its test
binary. Trivy flags that as DS-0013 (MEDIUM): a `cd` is scoped to the single
RUN it appears in, so it silently does not carry to the next layer, and
WORKDIR is the instruction that does.

Both are now WORKDIR. The stage count is unchanged — this is still the one
builder the review asked for — and the module files are still copied ahead
of the sources, so the dependency layers keep caching independently of a
source edit.

Verified with a --no-cache build: all five binaries land in /out/bin, the
runtime image carries the eight feature files and no developer overlay, and
the api surface still passes 24 of 24 against a live deployment through
docker compose.

The discovery issuer is still not compared against the configured esignet.base_url.

sameOrigin pins the scheme and the host, so the scheme-downgrade gap is closed. It does not compare the path. A discovery document served from https://host/esignet can therefore declare issuer: https://host/another-tenant, and Line 118 passes that value to e2e.Runner.Issuer for ID-token validation. RFC 8414 §3.3 requires the relying party to trust the issuer it configured, not the one the document claims.

MOSIP impact: on a shared test host, one eSignet tenant can supply the issuer used to validate another tenant's tokens. No direct GDPR exposure, because no personal data leaves the configured origin.

🛡️ Proposed fix: bind the issuer to the configured base URL

Add the check in main, after Line 64:

// RFC 8414 §3.3: the issuer an RP trusts is the one it configured.
	if strings.TrimRight(disco.Issuer, "/") != base {
		logger.Fatalf("discovery issuer %q does not match esignet.base_url %q", disco.Issuer, base)

invalid `user: "$(id -u):$(id -g)"` workaround; retain the directory ownership
command and, if offering a Compose user override, describe a Compose-supported
way to provide numeric host UID/GID values without shell command substitution.

In `@api-test/internal/config/config.go`:
- Around line 326-345: Annotate the operator-supplied reads with justified G304
suppressions: in api-test/internal/config/config.go lines 326-345, above
os.ReadFile(path) in mergeFile, name -config, CONFIG, and CONFIG_LOCAL as
sources; in lines 786-804, above os.ReadFile(path) in RedactedPlanConfig, name
plans[].config_file. Follow the repository’s existing suppression convention.
- Around line 248-252: Add a targeted nilerr-suppression annotation to the
deliberate nil return in rejectLegacyKeys after json.Unmarshal fails,
documenting that malformed JSON is reported by mergeFile; preserve the existing
control flow and error behavior.

In `@api-test/internal/conformance/client.go`:
- Around line 289-296: Update doAbs to read resp.Body through io.LimitReader
with a generous maximum size before assigning call.RespBody, preserving the
existing response capture and status handling while preventing unbounded memory
usage.

In `@api-test/internal/e2e/crypto.go`:
- Line 172: Update the deferred resp.Body.Close call in the relevant e2e test
flow to explicitly discard its return value, matching the existing pattern in
the neighboring e2e and esignet drivers and satisfying errcheck.

In `@api-test/internal/esignet/driver_test.go`:
- Around line 63-75: Extend TestResolveInputs with coverage for dynamic OTP
resolution using a fake OTP provider: verify the provider supplies OTP when no
explicit answer exists, an explicit answers["otp"] value takes precedence, and
provider errors return an error message containing “dynamic OTP”. Add the
required errors import and define the test provider stub using the visible OTP
interface.

In `@api-test/internal/httpx/httpx.go`:
- Around line 11-20: Update the custom transport in NewClient to set Proxy to
http.ProxyFromEnvironment, preserving the existing TLS configuration and timeout
so the client honors HTTP_PROXY, HTTPS_PROXY, and NO_PROXY.

In `@api-test/internal/orchestrator/run.go`:
- Around line 25-34: Update the module filtering logic to check m.Variant for
the "form_post" response mode before calling unsupportedReason, so form-post
plans with normal module names are recognized as unsupported; do not rely on
changing the unsupportedModuleHints key from "form-post".

In `@api-test/internal/wsotp/listener.go`:
- Around line 148-150: Bound l.records in the listener append path by removing
entries older than the current flow start before or while adding a new record.
Update the relevant listener matching/recording logic around l.records, match,
and the flow-start timestamp so records no longer eligible for matching are
discarded while retaining records needed by active flows.

In `@api-test/internal/wsotp/ws.go`:
- Around line 260-267: Annotate both intentional error constructions in the
frame-read/desynchronization handling with //nolint:errorlint directives: the
return using fmt.Errorf("%w: %v", errStreamDesync, err) and the deferred error
rewrite. Preserve the existing wrapping of errStreamDesync and %v formatting of
the underlying read error.

In `@api-test/internal/wsotp/wsotp_test.go`:
- Around line 171-173: Update the wsotp test cases to satisfy the reported
linters: explicitly discard Close errors in the deferred cleanup at the net.Pipe
and listener sites; replace net.Listen with (&net.ListenConfig{}).Listen using
context.Background(); handle the ln.Addr() type assertion explicitly; and
annotate the byte(len(payload)) conversion after its bounds-checking panic so
G115 is suppressed. Apply these changes only to the affected test code.

In `@api-test/README.md`:
- Line 77: Update the fenced code blocks in api-test/README.md at lines 77-77
and 322-322 to use the text language identifier on each opening fence, resolving
the markdownlint MD040 findings.

In `@api-test/run-all.sh`:
- Around line 3-5: Declare the Bash requirement at the start of run-all.sh using
an appropriate Bash shebang, so the script is executed by Bash rather than a
POSIX shell; preserve its existing array, conditional, regex, and SECONDS usage.

Correctness:
- authorize/get/update "unknown client" scenarios minted a literal id, which a
long-lived deployment could have registered. Use the per-scenario generated id
  instead, which nothing registers.
- unsupportedReason never saw form-post plans: the suite keeps ordinary module
names and puts the mode in the plan variant, so the "form-post" name hint was
dead. Read response_mode off the variant.
- The PMS client-mgmt surface vanished from the report when KEYCLOAK_CLIENT_SECRET
was empty: the tag is only added inside that branch, so neither the run nor the
ENV_NOT_READY row happened. Report it when either prerequisite is missing.
- docker-compose did not forward ID_TYPE, so the documented .env override never
  reached the harness.
- .env.example pinned the suite one patch ahead of the smoke allow-list and the
  compose fallback (5.1.42 vs 5.1.41).
- Config paths in AGENTS.md and in the configs' own embedded run commands still
pointed at the pre-data/ layout, so copy-pasting them fails the -c exists check.
Same for the conformance template's old plan-config.example.json name.
- troubleshooting.md offered `user: "$(id -u):$(id -g)"`, which Compose passes to
  Docker literally rather than executing.

Privacy and robustness:
- Step-failure snippets are archived in the envelope's FailedConditions, which
the report renders without running its redactor over them. Mask credential
values at the source; "code" is deliberately not masked, since flow/execute's
error contract is {code, message} and the features assert FES-1004 on it.
- WSOTP_DEBUG printed the whole frame, OTP included, to stderr. Print the shape
with the digits masked; the recipient stays readable, which is the other thing
  the flag is for.
- The listener buffered one record per OTP for the whole run. match never reads
past the current flow start, so prune anything older than the window.
- doAbs read the whole body with no cap, at absolute URLs taken from the
  deployment under test.
- .dockerignore missed suffixed local-config backups (config.local.mosip.json.bak).
- httpx dropped http.DefaultTransport's proxy support with it, so a CI network
that only reaches the deployment through a proxy failed with a bare connection
  error.

Tests and cosmetics:
- Cover the dynamic-OTP branch of resolveInputs, including the precedence the
"wrong OTP" negative case depends on; cover the form-post variant and the
  listener pruning; cover snippet redaction.
- orDash the conformance base URL in --check, matching every other line.
- Name the deliberate nilerr/errorlint/gosec sites rather than leaving the
  reasoning implicit.
- run-all.sh says it needs Bash, which it does; two README fences get a language.

Running option D top to bottom on a clean checkout always ended at
NOT RUNNABLE YET. Every shipped plugin config selects all three surfaces,
so compose includes conformance, which needs a plan config that no script
can generate — but section D never said so, and its opening line ("the
easiest way to get the conformance surface going") implied the opposite.
The prerequisite was documented in four other places, none of them the
section a compose user actually follows.

README section D now states that compose starts the suite process but not
the plan config, and leads with SURFACES=api,e2e for a first run that
needs nothing beyond ESIGNET_BASE_URL and the Keycloak credentials. Adds
--no-deps to the dry run, since --check executes nothing and does not
need the suite, and notes the suite-free run form for api+e2e.

Also:
  - troubleshooting: an entry for the resulting error, including that a
missing conformance-suite-private/ is recreated by the bind mount as
an empty directory, so the symptom is a config error not a mount one
  - docker-compose.yml: the same auto-create trap noted on the mount
  - conformance-suite.md: the keypair settings that matter (RSA 2048,
sig, PS256), the literal redirect URI the alias produces, and the
jwks-is-a-set trap that rejects an otherwise correct file
  - SUITE_IMAGE_TAG: release-v5.1.41 was pruned from the GitLab registry
and no longer pulls; release-v5.1.42 is the oldest still published.
suite_version in oidcc-test-plan.smoke.json is left at 5.1.41, which
is the release its allow-list was curated against

internal/orchestrator existed only to serve the conformance surface: it was
imported by cmd/conformance and nothing else, and everything in it (plan and
module selection, the smoke profile, the suite's raw condition log, the
unsupported-module hints) is suite-specific. Move it into internal/conformance
so the surface is one package.

conformance.New was the suite client's constructor and collided with the
orchestrator's. The client is only built from run.go, so it becomes
newClient and New is now the surface entry point -- the package's exported
API gets smaller rather than larger.

Rename two environment variables to the names eSignet itself reads:

  ESIGNET_BASE_URL -> MOSIP_ESIGNET_BASE_URL       (server.public_url)
  AUTHN_PROVIDER   -> MOSIP_ESIGNET_AUTHN_PROVIDER (provider selector)

The rest of the repo already uses MOSIP_ESIGNET_AUTHN_PROVIDER (helm values,
docs/architecture.md, the postman README); api-test was the only place that
dropped the prefix. One environment block can now configure a deployment and
the harness pointed at it.

These two are the whole overlap. The suite connection, the test identity and
the run selection have no eSignet-side counterpart; esignet.tls_verify is
client-side only; eSignet has no PMS settings at all (it consumes a
registered client, it never calls partnermanagement); and the Keycloak
variables sit on the opposite end of the handshake from
security_config.issuer_url/jwks_url, which are yaml-only with no env override.
docs/configuration.md now records that reasoning.

ESIGNET_BASE_URL_MISMATCH is left alone -- it is a harness error code
documented in docs/troubleshooting.md, not a variable.
