fix(tests): isolate Codex profile cases on Windows - #8217
Fix the profile-preservation suite on Windows when the test preload has already cached a sandbox profile path before the file changes CODEX_HOME. Run disk scenarios in independently owned, guarded child homes and isolate the existing injection children from an inherited CODEX_SQLITE_HOME.
Preserve the real-home guard and assert the actual profile-removal race during the read. Bun documents that test preloads run before test files.
Verification
Windows before: bun test tests/codex-integration/codex-profile-preservation.test.ts failed at module load with 0 pass, 1 fail and 1 error. A Windows bisect first reproduced the failure at 14692abe3b035e8817f8536da528e08160501982; earlier sampled revisions did not contain this test.
Windows after: the focused file passed with 39 tests and 135 assertions using the repository preload, an isolated custom preload, and no preload. The custom preload checked same-process module identity and a sentinel after the process exited; a mismatched child home was rejected before either profile write.
The new child deadline is 4 seconds, within the unchanged 5-second enclosing test deadline. Windows measurements of the four guarded child scenarios were 0.42–1.34 seconds; process-API instrumentation observed no descendants in those scenarios and detected an intentionally spawned child. Failed or timed-out child roots are retained.
bun run typecheck — pass; bun run test:changed — 39 pass, 0 fail, 135 assertions; bun run privacy:scan — pass.
Full local suite not run because this Windows host is shared by another lane; focused tests and test:changed ran locally, and broader coverage is left to CI. Linux/macOS local runs and hosted Windows proof have not yet run.

Tests
Strengthened profile-preservation checks to verify home-directory isolation and guard behavior.
Run plan and injection scenarios in isolated child processes, including checks for concurrent edits and profile changes.
The profile-preservation tests now validate the test-home guard and run profile-plan and injection scenarios in child processes with owned homes. They check profile-reading cases, concurrent edits, and rollback setup.
The tests validate guard behavior and home-path containment in child processes. The helper runs profile-plan scenarios for existing, removed, missing, and unreadable profiles, then returns results as JSON.
Injection concurrency and rollback setup tests/codex-integration/codex-profile-preservation.test.ts
The concurrent-edit and rollback children use the shared validated-home setup. The concurrent-edit test still checks for a retryable conflict without overwriting the edit.
lidge-jun/opencodex#7467: Updates the test-home guard contract and propagates OCX_TEST_HOME_GUARD to child processes, which these tests rely on.
