Addressed the two outside-diff comments from the review on 20cb79d:

Bun reads bunfig.toml from the current working directory, so a bun test started outside the repository loads no tests/preload.ts: HOME stays real, OPENCODEX_HOME is unset, and the guard stayed disarmed, letting OAuth persistence write the developer's real ~/.opencodex/auth.json. isTestHomeGuardArmed() now also arms when the entry module (Bun.main) has a Bun test-file name, and publishes OCX_TEST_HOME_GUARD=1 to spawned children. No production entrypoint matches; NODE_ENV is not consulted; an explicit OCX_TEST_HOME_GUARD=0 still disarms. Writers that touched the config dir before any guard (OAuth/Nous refresh intents, Kimi device id) now assert first. Fixes #7407

Summary
A
bun teststarted outside the repository root never loadstests/preload.ts, because Bun readsbunfig.tomlfrom the current working directory. In that run HOME stays real, OPENCODEX_HOME is unset, and the real-home write guard stayed disarmed, since it armed only on the preload-setOCX_TEST_HOME_GUARD=1. AsaveCredential(...)from such a run wrote a fixture account into the developer's real~/.opencodex/auth.jsonand made it active (#7407).After this change:
cd /tmp && bun test <repo>/tests/x.test.tsrefuses every credential write to the real home with the usual guard error, plus a hint that the preload did not load. Production persistence is unchanged.isTestHomeGuardArmed()(src/lib/test-home-guard.ts) now also arms when the entry module (Bun.main) has a Bun test-file name (.test/_test/.spec/_spec+ JS/TS extension). Underbun test,Bun.mainnames the test file in the main runner and in--parallelworkers. No production entrypoint (CLI, service daemon, compiled sidecar, scripts) has such a name.NODE_ENVis still not consulted, soNODE_ENV=test ocx ...stays inert. An explicitOCX_TEST_HOME_GUARD=0still disarms, which is how cases exercise production branches.OCX_TEST_HOME_GUARD=1so CLI/helper children it spawns inherit the arming.writeOAuthRefreshIntent(src/oauth/store.ts), the Nous refresh intent (src/oauth/nous.ts), and the Kimi device id (src/oauth/kimi.ts). EverymutateStorepath (save, upsert, account-set changes, merge/refresh persistence) already went through the guarded OAuth lock andpersist(). The Codex account store andauth.jsonmirror go through the guardedatomicWriteFile/assertNotRealCodexHomeUnderTest.tests/service/live-service-manager-guard.test.tsmodeled production by deleting the flag inside a test file. That now arms by design, so the case uses the explicit"0"opt-out.bunfig.tomlandtests/preload.tsand thestructure/ops/test-sandbox-cleanup.mdentry are updated to match.Known limit: a file passed by explicit path under a non-test name (
bun test ./scratch.ts) is not recognised. Bun exposes no runner flag beyond theNODE_ENVit sets, andNODE_ENVis ruled out by the guard's production contract. Conversely, bun run ./x.test.tsalso arms. That is accepted: also requiringNODE_ENV=testwould leave unprotected any developer whose shell exports anotherNODE_ENV, becausebun testkeeps an existing value. This touches credential persistence and needs maintainer security review (MAINTAINERS.md).

Verification
tests/ci-workflows/test-home-guard-unpreloaded.test.tsspawnsbun teston a fixture outside the repo, from a temp cwd with nobunfig.toml, with a temp directory as the fake real HOME seeded with sentinel.opencodex/auth.jsonand.codex/auth.json. It asserts that no preload ran, the config dir is the fake real home, the guard is armed and published, and the guard's own error refuses each of:saveCredential, upsertCredentialByIdentity, saveAccountCredential, setActiveAccount, removeAccount, mergeAccountCredential, writeOAuthRefreshIntent, the refresh-intent lock, saveCodexAccountCredential, the Codexauth.jsonwrite path, saveConfig, the Kimi device id and the Nous refresh intent. Abun runhelper with a non-test entry, spawned from that test, inherits the arming and is refused too. It also asserts the content, mode and entry snapshot of both trees is unchanged. Negative: the same writes frombun runwithNODE_ENV=testpersist, and none of them is refused by the guard. Opt-out:OCX_TEST_HOME_GUARD=0disarms a test file.src/lib/test-home-guard.ts, the main case fails (armedfalse). With the oldsrc/oauth/nous.ts, the snapshot catches a new.opencodex/.nous-refresh-intentdirectory.bun run typecheck, bun run structure:check: pass.test-home-guard,test-home-guard-unpreloaded,live-service-manager-guard,service-state-isolation,desktop-app-restart,low-quota-desktop-notifier,codex-reset-credit-recovery,update-supervised-recovery,update-restart-lease,test-layout,test-layout-tooling,claude-config-home-isolation,oauth-anthropic-instance-multiprocess: all pass.bun run test(full, macOS): 1 failure,tests/claude-integration/claude-desktop-remote-hub.test.ts› "connected Desktop uses hub IDs across a cold restart (stored profile=false)" (native model label drift).
