Summary

Abliteration API keys currently show quotaMode: "unsupported", so the Rate limits view, ocx account list --quota, and ocx provider quota never show a balance even though Abliteration publishes one.

This adds an API-key quota probe for Abliteration's documented GET /v1/credits endpoint. The response { data: { total_credits, total_usage } } (USD) becomes creditsUsd with limit = total_credits, used = total_usage, and remaining = total_credits - total_usage, so the existing credits bar renders it and API-key account rows report quotaMode: "probe".

  • Abliteration has no registry preset, so it is normally configured as a custom provider. Eligibility is the canonical-URL guard alone: any provider name whose baseUrl normalizes to https://api.abliteration.ai or https://api.abliteration.ai/v1. Lookalike hosts, http:, query strings, and other origins are never sent the key.
  • The request uses the active key only, redirect: "error", the shared timeout, and quotaFetch provider egress, like the other key probes.
  • Failure handling matches the neighbouring key probes: 4xx other than 408/429 is terminal and drops the last-good row; 408, 429, and 5xx (including Abliteration's documented 503 credit_balance_unavailable) keep it.
  • A well-formed reply with total_credits: 0 returns AUTHORITATIVE_EMPTY_QUOTA, so it shows no meter and clears any earlier row and routing projection instead of keeping them for the cache lifetime. Malformed replies (missing fields, negative values) return null and keep the last-good row.
  • The credit balance funds every inference request on the key, so the same quota is passed as the routing projection (as for a6api and OpenRouter).

Before, with an Abliteration key configured:

{ "provider": "abliteration", "type": "api-key", "active": true, "quotaMode": "unsupported" }

After, from a live probe against a real account (values from that account):

{ "source": "abliteration:credits", "creditsUsd": { "used": 451.11472, "limit": 701, "remaining": 249.88528, "percent": 64.35 } }

Docs: the English provider guide lists Abliteration among live probes and documents the endpoint and failure behaviour; the fr, tr, and zh-tw lists that enumerate probes now include it. structure/providers-and-adapters.md records the contract (appended to the existing key-balance paragraph to stay within the 600-line budget).

Verification

All run locally on Windows with Bun 1.4.3. The branch is rebased on dev at a9963bfc3. On the current head, bun test tests/providers/provider-quota-abliteration.test.ts tests/providers/provider-quota.test.ts tests/test-layout.test.ts tests/test-layout-tooling.test.ts (206 pass, 0 fail), bun run typecheck, bun run structure:check, and bun run privacy:scan pass. The new positive-to-zero regression test fails against the code before the CodeRabbit fix and passes after it. The broader results below were recorded on the pre-rebase base 83af6f92f; the five intervening dev commits do not touch the quota probe code.

  • The new test file covers the parsed creditsUsd, URL/Bearer/redirect: "error", a custom provider name, the bare origin, four non-canonical base URLs (no fetch, quotaMode unsupported), quotaMode probe, 401 dropping last-good, 503 and 429 keeping last-good, clamping when usage exceeds credits, a positive-to-zero reply clearing last-good, a malformed successful reply keeping last-good, and parser results for zero and malformed bodies.
  • bun run typecheck: pass.
  • bun run privacy:scan: pass.
  • bun run structure:check: pass.
  • bun run test:changed: not completed locally. On this Windows machine the selected set exceeded the runner's 900s suite limit and was terminated; the failures it logged were hook and test timeouts in unrelated suites (routing profiles, Kiro, combos, Compatibility Lab). Coverage beyond the files below is left to the Ubuntu PR CI.
  • Every test file that imports fetchProviderQuotaReports, keyQuotaReaderForProvider, providerApiKeyQuotaMode, or account-key-quota (19 files), plus the new file and three timed-out suites: 613 pass, 4 fail, 617 tests across 21 files. All four failures are timeouts in tests/providers/kiro/kiro-device-social.test.ts, tests/providers/kiro/kiro-quota-metrics.test.ts, and tests/routing/routing-profile-management-editor.test.ts; the same three files fail identically (21 pass, 4 fail) on unmodified dev 83af6f92f on this machine.
  • Live check: the new reader run against a real configured Abliteration key returned quotaMode: "probe" and the creditsUsd above. No credentials were printed.

No GUI files changed, so no screenshot.

Checklist

  • Scope stays focused and avoids unrelated cleanup.
  • Docs or release notes were updated when needed.
  • Security-sensitive changes were reviewed for secrets, auth, and unsafe defaults.

Review readiness checklist

This PR stays in draft until every box below is ticked. Tick all four boxes once the requirements are met:

  • Required local validation passed; commands, results, and any full-suite exception are documented.

  • I pushed my PR to a recent dev commit (at most 10 behind; a maintainer may still ask for the exact tip before merge).

  • I resolved all correct Codex and CodeRabbit findings.

  • My PR is ready for review.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added live credit reporting for providers using Abliteration’s supported API URL, showing remaining credits and spend in the provider quota display.
    • Credit readings are also used for routing when available. Invalid credentials or a confirmed zero-credit balance clear the displayed reading; temporary service errors preserve the last available reading.
  • Documentation
    • Updated provider guides in multiple languages to cover Abliteration credit reporting and supported custom providers.
    • Clarified quota reporting behavior for Ollama Cloud, including how balance and usage responses are handled.

📝 Walkthrough

The change adds Abliteration credit quota probing for custom providers that use canonical API URLs. It parses USD credit balances for display and routing, handles unsuccessful responses, adds probe tests, and updates provider documentation in several languages.

Changes: Abliteration credit quota

Layer / File(s) Summary
Quota probe and provider documentation
src/providers/quota/vendor-probes-key.ts, docs-site/src/content/docs/guides/providers.md, structure/providers-and-adapters.md, docs-site/src/content/docs/{fr,tr,zh-tw}/guides/providers.md
The probe accepts the canonical Abliteration host with no path or /v1. It requests /v1/credits with the resolved key as a Bearer token and disables redirects. Valid USD credits are reported for display and routing. Hard 4xx responses other than 408 and 429 are terminal. Other unsuccessful responses and invalid payloads produce no report. The documentation describes the probe and adds Abliteration to the live-probe provider lists.
Probe tests and test-layout registration
tests/providers/provider-quota-abliteration.test.ts, scripts/test-layout/layout.json, tests/fixtures/test-layout-expected.json
Tests cover canonical and rejected URLs, request headers and redirect policy, quota parsing, and last-good report handling. The test is registered in the providers shard and expected layout.

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to bbf79

The new Abliteration quota probe works and routes correctly. However, it may show the credit balance with a USD label even though the provider reports credits, so the displayed balance can be misleading. This does not affect routing or availability and can be followed up after merge.

Abliteration API keys reported quotaMode unsupported. Probe the documented GET /v1/credits endpoint for any provider whose base URL is the canonical api.abliteration.ai origin and publish total_credits/total_usage as creditsUsd for display and routing.

…t reply

A well-formed /v1/credits reply with zero total credits now returns AUTHORITATIVE_EMPTY_QUOTA so the previous bar and routing projection are dropped; malformed replies still keep the last-good row. Addresses CodeRabbit review.
