Summary

  • scripts/check-retired-concepts.mjs shrinks from 413 to ~80 lines. It still fails release:check when the retired term appears in tracked text, and still allows it in release notes older than 7.0.0 (same heading boundary as before).
  • Removed: the 13 CHANGELOG line-number + sha256 pins (every release had to re-edit them) and the lifecycle-marker validator (zero markers exist in the repo).
  • The "Release entry template" block moves from CHANGELOG.md to docs/integrations/release.md, so CHANGELOG holds only release entries.

First step of a repo-wide cleanup; later PRs can now add CHANGELOG lines without breaking release:check.

Verification

  • npm run release:check — exit 0 (13 historical hits, 0 forbidden)
  • npm run lint — exit 0
  • npm test — 2660 pass, 0 fail, 1 skipped

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

The check pinned 13 CHANGELOG lines by absolute line number and sha256, so
every release had to re-edit the pins, and it validated lifecycle markers
that no longer exist anywhere. It now forbids the retired term everywhere
except release notes older than 7.0.0, located by the existing heading
boundary. The release-entry template moves from CHANGELOG to the release
guide.
