fix(server): carry a pane's pending messages and terminal to its new ID when herdr moves it - #2780
Part of #1503 (server half; the browser remap follows in a second PR once this merges).
Problem
herdr gives a pane a new ID when it moves to another workspace. A move made outside the moving browser (herdr's own window, herdr pane move <pane> --new-tab --workspace <id>, another browser or device) reached clients only as session-changed, and the server kept everything under the old ID:
queued and held messages stayed under the old ID, where nothing shows them;
a terminal attach still open under the old ID kept herdr's one attach slot, so an attach under the new ID came back attach_held until it let go (the 3 s retry hid it, or not, depending on the other client).
Reproduced on main (7a923ab / ae78bb0) on the isolated test herdr: after pane.move to a new tab in another workspace, the only frame clients got was session-changed (no frame named both IDs), and an attach under the new ID got attach_held while a second client was still attached under the old one.
Change
server/collector.ts: a pane_moved to a new ID calls a new onPaneMoved(from, to) before the structure change.
server/core/status.ts: broadcasts the new additive frame { type: "pane-moved", from, to } (before the move's session-changed), then the core remaps.
server/pending-input.ts / server/core/pending.ts: the pane's pending messages, their outcomes and held-copy resends follow it to the new ID, each held for an explicit send (pane_moved), a send in flight uncertain; nothing is sent automatically. Each owner gets both IDs' pending-messages lists.
server/core/terminals.ts: the attachment made as the old ID ends for its clients (pty-exit), which also drops their conversation watchers, and the first attach as the new ID waits for that process to exit instead of being refused.
Contract
Additive server->client frame only. Old clients ignore it: src/lib/ws.ts emits every frame to listeners that each match their own types, and useMachineRoster likewise only matches known types. MachineRelay forwards remote frames raw, and MachineManager forwards every local and remote frame as machine-message with its machine_id, so remote PCs relay it unchanged.
REMOTE_BUNDLE_VERSION is not raised here: per docs/development.md the release PR raises it when scripts/release-guards.ts sees the bundle's inputs changed since the published remote-vN; an ordinary PR does not.
Typed Pi receipts are failed as for a lost terminal (as before) and then move to the new ID, where they stay dismissible.
Not remapped here (unchanged behaviour, old-ID state is left as before): status-side trackers keyed by pane (completions, waits, OmO/gjc, push) beyond the status the collector already carries.
Until the browser half lands, a browser still showing the old ID gets pty-exit for it (the terminal-ended screen) until session-changed drops the pane; before, the old-ID stream kept running.
Validation
Failing first: server/pending-input.test.ts (3 new), server/collector.test.ts (1 new), server/collector.contract.test.ts (1 new, real isolated herdr) all failed on main and pass now.
bun run check fast: ok (typecheck, build, unit 11178 pass / 0 fail).
bun run check run bun test ./server/collector.contract.test.ts: 6 pass.
Skipped locally: check full (integration/browser run in CI).
…ID when herdr moves it (#1503)
A pane_moved to a new ID, made anywhere, now remaps the server's pending messages (held for an explicit send) and ends the old-ID attach so the new-ID attach waits for its exit instead of being refused. Browsers get an additive pane-moved frame before the move's session-changed.

New Features
When a pane moves to another workspace and receives a new ID, browsers are notified and can reconnect using that ID.
Queued messages follow the pane. They are held for review and require an explicit send before delivery; in-flight messages remain marked as uncertain.
When a pane moves to a new ID, the server now notifies clients, transfers pending-message state, and retires the old terminal attachment. Tests cover the move event, message state, and client reattachment.
Changes: Pane Move State Transfer
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Detect and report pane moves server/collector.ts, server/collector.test.ts, server/core/status.ts, shared/protocol.ts
The collector reports moves to a different pane ID. The status hub broadcasts pane-moved and invokes its move callback.
Transfer pending-message state server/pending-input.ts, server/core/pending.ts, server/core/server-core.ts, server/pending-input.test.ts, changelog.d/pane-moved-elsewhere-server-state.md
Pending messages and retained state move to the new ID. Pending messages are held with a pane_moved fault. The tests cover explicit sending, in-flight sends, and withdrawn messages.
Retire old terminal attachment server/core/terminals.ts, server/collector.contract.test.ts
The terminal registry retires the old attachment and waits for relevant processes to exit before creating an attachment under the new ID. The contract test checks event order and reattachment.
Resolve the pending-message settlement and receipt-access problems before merging: a completed send can still appear unsent, and moved Pi receipts cannot be dismissed. Terminal reattachment also has bounded retry delays in overlapping moves or attachment creation.

…wait for the old attach from the move on (#1503)
Review round 1: a send the move overtook is never retried by itself; a held copy's resend that ends after the move settles under the new ID; the new ID's attach waits from the move, also while the old attach is created and across a second move; typed Pi receipts follow the pane.

Keep a moved pane's tracking under its new ID.
The move branch leaves trackedPanes keyed by the old ID. The next snapshot omits that ID, so the loop at server/collector.ts:443-449 calls onPaneEnded for a pane that still runs. Clients then get pane-exited and a terminal-ended alert, and paneGone releases the OpenCode state for it.

Carry held messages to the new ID when a missed move ends the old ID.
If the lifecycle subscription misses a pane_moved frame, reconcile() ends the old ID through onPaneEnded. Its pending messages then stay under the old ID, held with "The pane ended; its pending messages were not sent". They do not reach the new ID. Only the received frame remaps them.

Keep a moved sign-in pane's old ID from ending its login.
When a sign-in pane moves to another workspace, herdr assigns it a new ID. The collector still tracks the old ID, so reconciliation reports that ID as ended. usageLogin.ended then frees the credential home while the sign-in CLI still runs. A second sign-in for that account can then start beside it. Move the tracked ID with the pane, and remap the login in usageLogin.

Carry browser pane state when pane-moved arrives.
A move made outside this browser, such as in herdr's TUI, sends pane-moved, but no client handles it. Unsent drafts, held terminal input, and lenses stay under the old pane ID. Handle pane-moved in the machine message dispatcher and call carryPaneState(machineId, from, to). Verify the ordering against the browser's own move, which also calls it.

Reviewers: omo (dori review) and Codex (gpt-6.1-terra, xhigh), two rounds.
Round 1 (head 929781e), fixed in 6a06ebf with failing-first tests:
HIGH (both, reproduced): a held copy's resend that finished after the move compared a stale captured pane ID, so a delivered or ambiguous copy stayed held and withdrawable. Now settles under entry.paneId. Test: settles a held copy's send that ends after the move under the new ID (delivered / ambiguous).
HIGH (Codex) / MEDIUM (omo), reproduced at the queue level: a send the move overtook could settle retryable back to queued and go out by itself under the new ID. Moved in-flight sends now always settle held. Test: never tries a send the move overtook again by itself.
MEDIUM: the new ID's attach wait was installed only after the old attach finished being created, and not carried across A->B->C. Now installed at move time and carried. Test in server/core/terminals.test.ts.
MEDIUM: typed Pi receipts stayed under the old ID. They now move to the new ID (still dismissible).
Round 2 (head 6a06ebf): omo CLEAR; Codex no HIGH. Left as follow-ups (MEDIUM/LOW, none made worse than main):
A turn gate open at the move is dropped (forget(from)), so a message queued later under the new ID could go on a late idle. Unreproduced in a live server; main has no gate on the new ID either.
A Pi receipt recorded after the move (Enter accepted, RPC still resolving) lands under the old ID; completed resume receipts (completed, piCompleted) stay keyed by the old ID. Unreproduced; code inspection only.
A new-ID attach that started before the server heard pane_moved reads the retirement wait too early and can still see attach_held; the existing 3 s retry recovers, as on main. Unreproduced.
Validation at 6a06ebf: bun run check fast ok (typecheck, build, unit 11182 pass / 0 fail); server/collector.contract.test.ts on the isolated test herdr: 6 pass (run at 929781e; the round-1 commit changes no path that test exercises except the terminal wait, covered by the unit test).
… lookup (#1503)
Review threads: an attach under the new ID that started before the move was heard now waits for the old ID's process after the lookup too; the contract test's setup runs inside its try so cleanup covers a partial setup.
Merge note: merged on the omo review (CLEAR at this head), Codex Terra (no HIGH; reproduced findings fixed, the rest in the PR comments) and green required checks. Non-required macOS jobs were still waiting for GitHub runners. For contract changes, review findings and resolutions are in the PR comments.
…2784)
Fixes#1503 (browser half; the server half merged in #2780).
## Problem
A pane moved to another workspace from outside the browser (herdr's own
window, `herdr pane move <pane> --new-tab --workspace <id>`, another
browser or device) gets a new ID. Since #2780 the server tells clients
`pane-moved { from, to }`, but no browser acted on it: the half showing
the pane fell back or closed, and everything kept under the old ID
(draft, held terminal input, lens, reply comments, pending-message rows,
sidebar pin, chat position, read finishes) stayed where nothing shows
it.
## Change
- `src/lib/useMachineRoster.ts`: a `pane-moved` machine message (local
or remote PC) calls App's `followPaneMove(machineId, from, to)`, before
that move's `session-changed`.
- `src/App.tsx`: `followPaneMove` is the one path for a move: the #1427
"Move to workspace…" action now uses it too. It carries the pane's state
(`carryMovedPane`), takes either half of a split showing the old ID to
the new one, and the selection with it; a pane the user went to
meanwhile stays theirs (`movedView`).
- `src/lib/paneMove.ts` `carryMovedPane`: what `carryPaneState` carried
(#1427) plus:
- pending-message rows (`PendingMessageStore.move`): rows go as they
are, with the live connection's proof so the server's receipt under the
new ID settles them; a row whose send this page has on its way stays
under the old ID, where its answer looks for it. Nothing is sent.
- sidebar pin (`movedSidebarPins`), in place, on its own PC only; shared
with other browsers by the existing pin sync.
- chat position (`moveChatPosition`).
Running it twice for one move (every tab hears it; the moving tab also
from its own request) finds nothing left the second time.
- Read finishes move on the server (`server/seen.ts` `moved`, wired in
`server/index.ts`): at `pane_moved` the server's own read records go to
the new ID and every browser is told by the existing `seen` events, also
when no browser saw the move; a remote PC's move is handled from its
`pane-moved` machine message.
- `server/finishes.ts` / `server/core/status.ts`: the finish counter
goes on under the new ID, so a finish read under the old ID keeps its
number. When herdr reused the new ID, the count goes above the earlier
pane's and the moved pane's latest finish (and a read of it) takes the
next number. A status the old ID still reports after the move (a late
event) counts for the moved pane.
No new WS or HTTP contract: the `pane-moved` frame is from #2780; `POST
/api/seen` is unchanged. No visual change.
## Validation
- Failing first (each failed on main and passes now):
- unit: `server/finishes.test.ts` (3), `server/seen.test.ts`,
`src/lib/sidebarPins.test.ts`, `src/lib/chatScrollMemory.test.ts`,
`src/lib/pendingMessages.test.ts` (4), `src/lib/paneMove.test.ts`.
- browser: new case in `scripts/split-view-regression.ts` on the
isolated test herdr: a TUI-style `pane.move` of the left half's pane;
the half follows it to the new ID, the split stays, the typed draft and
the lens are under the new ID. With the `pane-moved` dispatch disabled
it times out waiting for the half to follow; with it, the whole
split-view regression passes (23 PASS).
- `bun run check fast`: ok (typecheck, build, unit 11207 pass / 0 fail).
- Skipped locally: `check full` (integration and browser run in CI).
