Summary

  • create a missing OPENCODE_CONFIG_DIR before writing support files
  • treat permission-denied safe reads like missing files
  • add regression coverage for missing and inaccessible config directories

Testing

  • packages/core: filesystem tests and typecheck
  • packages/opencode: config tests and typecheck
  • OPENCODE_CONFIG_DIR=/tmp/space bun run dev as james

The repository-wide pre-push typecheck was skipped because concurrent tsgo processes exhausted local memory; both affected package typechecks pass independently.
