feat(mobile): realtime nudge socket for cloud workspaces and hosts - #8086
Conversation
Mobile opens the same org nudge socket the desktop uses. Patches update agent status and presence in the cached cloud workspace rows without a refetch; a kind refetches the matching queries. The 30s cloud list poll runs only while the socket is down. iOS drops sockets in the background, so the socket closes there and dials again on return. React Query's focus refetch already covers what was missed then, so the reconnect refetch runs only after a drop in the foreground. Adds EXPO_PUBLIC_REALTIME_URL (defaults to production) and Limrun steps to the mobile-sim-verification skill.

New organization socket stays disconnected
If a user joins an organization after the app caches a JWT, that token can remain valid for up to an hour without listing the new organization. The realtime Worker closes the new organization's socket with 4403, but this handler refreshes the token only for 4401. Each retry reuses the same token, so realtime updates remain disconnected until the token expires or another request replaces it.

Failed list loses automatic recovery
If the initial or foreground cloud-list fetch fails during a brief API outage while the socket connects, this change stops the 30-second poll. The fetch retries only twice, and an open socket does not replay missed changes or refetch the list on its own. The list can therefore stay failed or stale until another focus event, nudge, or socket drop.

For each issue above, determine whether it is valid and should be fixed. If so, fix it directly.…ev stack bun dev:realtime starts it on the worktree's REALTIME_PORT with the .env nudge secret and API URL, and restarts it when wrangler dev exits. The cloud dev stack runs it in its own tmux window; before, REALTIME_URL pointed at nothing there and nudges were dropped.

…ial, and a stale org token - Refetch when a socket opens after any failed attempt, not only after a drop of an open one; the list poll stops on that open. - Give up on a dial that has not opened in 15s, so the retry loop goes on. - Refresh the JWT after 4403 as well as 4401: a token minted before an org change does not list that org. - Keep the 30s list poll while the list query is in error. - Keep an explicit ws:// realtime URL. - Skill: prefer a test account for cloud screens; a real one needs its owner's approval.

The Worker refuses a token by completing the upgrade and closing with 4401/4403, so the client sees open then close. Counting that open as success reset the backoff and refetched, which looped every second on a stale org token. A socket now counts as connected only after it stays open for 2s. Also ignore an agent status patch older than the cached one, add tests for the socket's retry and refetch rules, and tunnel the relay port in the Limrun skill.

Require a strictly newer status timestamp.
If a patch has the same timestamp as the cached status but a different value, >= replaces the cached value. An equal timestamp does not establish update order. Use > so a repeated or conflicting patch cannot overwrite the cached status. Based on learnings, state-updating events must have a valid timestamp strictly newer than the stored value.

Update the timestamp comparison for row.agentStatusAt so a patch replaces the
cached status only when at is strictly newer; preserve the existing handling
when row.agentStatusAt is null.

Mobile opens the same org nudge socket the desktop uses. Patches update
agent status and presence in the cached cloud workspace rows without a
refetch; a kind refetches the matching queries. The 30s cloud list poll
runs only while the socket is down.
iOS drops sockets in the background, so the socket closes there and
dials again on return. React Query's focus refetch already covers what
was missed then, so the reconnect refetch runs only after a drop in the
foreground.
Adds EXPO_PUBLIC_REALTIME_URL (defaults to production) and Limrun steps
to the mobile-sim-verification skill.
Realtime Worker in dev
Local dev and the cloud dev stack did not run the realtime Worker.
REALTIME_URLpointed at nothing, so nudges were dropped. In a cloud workspace, that meant the desktop sidebar never updated live.bun dev:realtime(apps/realtime/scripts/dev-local.sh) runs the Worker on the worktree'sREALTIME_PORT, using the.envnudge secret and API URL. It restarts the Worker whenwrangler devexits..superset/dev-stack.cloud.shruns it in its ownrealtimetmux window..envsecret is accepted, and SIGTERM stops it with noworkerdprocesses left.Existing worktrees: re-run setup.
step_write_env(setup.sh, setup.cloud.sh) rewrites.enveach run, and setup.local.sh appends its port block each run. Both writeEXPO_PUBLIC_REALTIME_URLwith the worktree's ownREALTIME_PORT.Verification
Tested on a Limrun iOS simulator against a local API and realtime Worker, signed in as a real account on the workspace Neon branch. Changes went through the API's real
agent-statusroute, and app requests were counted from the Limrun tunnel log.101)cloudWorkspace.listrequests in 3 minworking, then cleared: the row updated in place with zero app requests4401close forces a refresh. This is groundwork for showing diff line counts on the cloud workspace list. Those numbers would reach mobile through this socket.
Summary by cubic
Mobile opens the same org nudge socket the desktop uses, so agent status and presence reach cached cloud workspace rows without a refetch. The 30s cloud list poll runs only while the socket is down or the list query is in error.
