What

Mobile catches up with the cloud archive work from #7969, and its Cloud list now matches desktop's cloud sidebar.

  • Cloud is a scope in the host selector. Under Cloud, the chip row adds Status (Active / Archived) and Created by (Mine, the saved default; Anyone; or a person). Sort is hidden under Archived.
  • Rows match desktop's cloud sidebar row: repo icon, name, the owner's avatar when it isn't you, a PR button that opens the PR, then the status slot: wave spinner, needs-input or failed state, the green unread dot, or a compact age. Rows are grouped under muted Today / Yesterday / N days ago headings.
  • Archive replaces delete for cloud workspaces: in the row menu, the workspace ⋯ menu, and the archived workspace screen (Unarchive). Archived rows have a one-tap undo and a long-press menu (Unarchive, Copy ID, Share).
  • PRs come from GitHub via integration.github.getByBranches, the same query desktop uses, so the list never wakes a box.

Shared code

  • Desktop's cloud grouping and sort move to @superset/shared/cloud-workspace-groups, and desktop imports them from there. groupCloudWorkspacesByTime gains an optional at for grouping by archive date.
  • formatRelativePeriod is added to @superset/i18n/format and used by both apps.
  • cloudWorkspace.list({ archived: true }) now leaves out rows with no deletedAt. Those were deleted before archiving existed and have no box: 70 of the 82 archived rows in our org. This only narrows the output; the input and output types are unchanged.

Fixes on the way

  • The workspace screen remounts per workspace id. A deep link to a second workspace used to keep the first one's terminal and save it as the second one's tab.
  • Cloud rows restored from the saved query cache get their dates back, which removes the "Archived · now" flash on a cold open.
  • The PR screen keeps loading while the box wakes, instead of saying the PR is "no longer available".
  • Archive and unarchive stay in place even when the 1-second provisioning poll lands mid-request.

Review

An adversarial review agent read the diff before this PR, and I fixed what it found:

  • The spinner that never ended on the PR screen.
  • The archived list being fetched on every workspace screen.
  • Pin, which did nothing for cloud rows (now removed), and unread, which now works like desktop's.
  • PR chips from the previous org showing after an org switch.
  • The optimistic-archive race above.
  • Stale times and "Today" headings (now on a 30s clock).
  • The spinner re-rendering 20 times a second (now Reanimated).
  • Search ignoring the cloud filters.
  • Dead code.

Verification

  • Checked on the iPhone 17 Pro Max simulator against production; screenshots: https://app.superset.sh/page/mobile-cloud-archive-xqmfxs
  • Typecheck passes for mobile, desktop, trpc, shared and i18n.
  • Tests pass: mobile 135, desktop dashboard 887, shared 1198, i18n 165.
  • Biome is clean, and check:i18n has 0 missing in all 16 locales.

Not verified: the server filter in the app (it needs a deploy), and the largest accessibility text size, where button labels squash. That predates this branch.

Summary by cubic

Mobile now archives cloud workspaces instead of deleting them, and its Cloud scope matches desktop's sidebar: Status and Created by filters, per-repo PR rows grouped by time, and unarchive from rows, menus, and the archived workspace screen.

Shared

  • Cloud grouping, sorting, and time formatting move to @superset/shared/cloud-workspace-groups and @superset/i18n/format, used by both apps.
  • The archived workspaces query now omits rows with no deletedAt; these predate archiving and have no box.

Fixes

  • The workspace screen remounts per workspace id so deep links don't leak the previous terminal.
  • Cached cloud rows restore their dates instead of flashing "Archived · now".
  • The PR screen keeps loading while the box wakes instead of reporting the PR gone.
  • Archive and unarchive survive the 1-second provisioning poll.

Written for commit 1ce078f. Summary will update on new commits.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Mobile Cloud workspaces now have Active and Archived views, with filters for status and creator.
    • Archive and unarchive Cloud workspaces from workspace menus and screens. Archived workspaces remain accessible, and their archived date is shown when available.
    • Cloud workspace rows display repository and pull request details, workspace status, and unread indicators.
    • Cloud search now respects the selected creator and status filters.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Cloud workspace lists update immediately when archiving or unarchiving, and archived results exclude entries without an archive date.
  • Localization
    • Added translated labels, empty states, and archive-related messages across supported languages.

…s desktop's sidebar

Cloud is a scope in the host selector with Status (Active/Archived) and
Created by filters. Rows follow desktop's cloud sidebar row: repo icon,
name, owner if not you, PR button, status; grouped by Today / Yesterday /
N days ago. Archive replaces delete for cloud workspaces, with unarchive
from the row, its menu, and the archived workspace screen.

Shared: cloud workspace grouping moves from desktop to
@superset/shared/cloud-workspace-groups; formatRelativePeriod joins
@superset/i18n/format. The archived list leaves out rows deleted before
archiving existed.

Fixes: the workspace screen remounts per id (stale terminal after a deep
link); cached cloud rows revive their dates; the PR screen keeps loading
while the host resolves instead of reporting the PR gone.

Walkthrough

This pull request adds mobile Cloud workspace archive and unarchive flows, active and archived workspace browsing, and creator and status filters. It updates shared grouping and relative-time utilities used by desktop and mobile views, adds archived workspace detail handling, and introduces an animated spinner component.

Changes

Cloud workspace archive and browsing

Layer / File(s) Summary
Shared grouping and relative-period formatting
apps/desktop/src/renderer/routes/_authenticated/_dashboard/..., packages/shared/src/cloud-workspace-groups*, packages/shared/package.json, packages/i18n/src/format/*
Cloud workspace grouping and sorting utilities are exported from the shared package. Grouping accepts an optional date selector. The i18n package adds locale-aware relative-period formatting and tests. Desktop views use the shared helpers.
Archived data and workspace actions
apps/mobile/hooks/useArchivedCloudWorkspaces/*, apps/mobile/hooks/useCloudWorkspaceActions/*, apps/mobile/hooks/useCloudWorkspaceItems/*, apps/mobile/hooks/useCloudWorkspaces/*, apps/mobile/hooks/useDeleteWorkspace/*, packages/trpc/src/router/cloud-workspace/cloud-workspace.ts
The archived-workspace hook loads and revives archived rows. Pending moves are merged into active and archived lists. Cloud actions archive and unarchive workspaces by moving rows between caches and invalidating list queries. The archived API list requires a non-null deletion timestamp.
Cloud workspace filters and home list
apps/mobile/app/(authenticated)/(home)/filter/*, apps/mobile/screens/(authenticated)/(home)/filter/*, apps/mobile/screens/(authenticated)/(home)/home/*, apps/mobile/screens/(authenticated)/(home)/hooks/useCloudFilters/*, apps/mobile/screens/(authenticated)/(home)/search/SearchScreen.tsx, packages/i18n/locales/*
The home list displays active or archived Cloud rows grouped by relative period. Status and creator filters apply to Cloud lists and search. Cloud rows include repository and pull-request data, unread state, menus, and archive controls. Locale catalogs add related filter labels, failure messages, and empty states.
Archived workspace detail and unread state
apps/mobile/app/(authenticated)/workspace/[id]/index.tsx, apps/mobile/screens/(authenticated)/stores/unreadWorkspacesStore/*, apps/mobile/screens/(authenticated)/workspace/[id]/*
Workspace detail can resolve archived Cloud records, show archive information, and unarchive them. Cloud deletion actions now archive; failed and unreachable states also offer archiving. The unread store tracks Cloud read timestamps, and pull-request loading reflects host and sandbox readiness.

Wave spinner

Layer / File(s) Summary
Wave spinner animation
apps/mobile/screens/(authenticated)/components/WaveSpinner/*
Adds an animated spinner composed of nine cells. Each cell’s opacity is calculated from the shared animation frame.

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 1ce07

Resolve the archive action’s destructive-path mismatch before merging. Archive failures can also leave misleading workspace lists, while archive-loading failures and persisted creator selections can produce incorrect filter displays.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 1ce07

The archive and recovery flow introduces organization-isolation and failure-recovery risks in cached workspace state. Server authorization still limits access and privileged actions, but pending changes can place a workspace in the wrong organization’s list or leave its displayed lifecycle state inconsistent with the server.

Retained concerns

  • Medium · security · inferred: The newly introduced pending-move overlay does not carry organization scope. If a move remains pending while the user switches organizations, a successful list response for the new organization can receive the previous organization’s workspace row and cache it under the new organization. Home applies creator filtering but no second organization predicate. This mixes previously authorized metadata across client organization contexts; it does not establish access to an otherwise unauthorized organization.
  • Medium · reliability · inferred: The expanded two-list transition writes deleted or provisioning state before confirmation, then removes pending tracking and relies on invalidation without restoring prior state. If mutation or reconciliation fails, the client can retain an unconfirmed list placement and lifecycle status. This affects recovery and credential-lifecycle decisions derived from the active list. Successful refetch provides recovery, and invalidation-only compensation already existed for removal; the worsened surface is the new destination state and unarchive flow.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The supported isolation concern is bounded to pending, previously authorized workspace rows crossing organization contexts on the same client. Arbitrary remote workspace enumeration, other users’ access, and infrastructure privilege escalation are not established by this path.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — A reachable sequence is to start a move in organization A, switch to B while it remains pending, and complete B’s list fetch. The overlay can append A’s row after server filtering, allowing it to appear under B when creator filtering permits. This is a client isolation failure, not a demonstrated backend authorization bypass.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — Server list access checks cloud access, organization membership, organization equality, and visibility. Archive and unarchive independently authorize the loaded workspace before privileged lifecycle operations. Client cache placement does not confer server authority.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — Existing server transitions condition updates on prior status. Reaping checks deleted status and the matching archive timestamp before deletion, providing protection against already-obsolete cleanup jobs. These checks do not resolve client rollback or overlay-scope defects.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Bind pending overlays to organization and session identity, make cleanup operation-scoped, and distinguish provisional state from confirmed lifecycle state. On rejection, restore prior state or retain an explicit unresolved state until authoritative reconciliation succeeds.

Fix with agent prompt
### Issue 1
apps/mobile/hooks/useCloudWorkspaceActions/pendingCloudMoves.ts:28-30
If someone switches organizations while an archive or unarchive request is in flight, this loop can add the previous organization’s workspace to the new organization’s list. Home renders the row without checking its organization, exposing its name and metadata until the request settles. Scope pending moves to the organization that started them.

**How this was verified:** Organization-scoped list queries apply a shared pending map that inserts rows without checking their organization.

### Issue 2
apps/mobile/screens/(authenticated)/(home)/home/components/CloudWorkspaceRow/CloudWorkspaceRow.tsx:118-122
The row finds this PR through the cloud GitHub integration, but its button opens a detail screen that fetches from the workspace’s sandbox. If the sandbox cannot wake or be reached, tapping a valid PR shows a host error or an unavailable message instead of opening the PR.

### Issue 3
apps/mobile/hooks/useCloudWorkspaceActions/useCloudWorkspaceActions.ts:79-85
If an archive request fails while Home shows Active, the optimistic deleted-looking row remains in the archived cache. This block invalidates the queries but does not restore the cached rows, and the archived query is disabled in that view. Opening Archived later can therefore show a workspace that was never archived, particularly if the subsequent fetch fails.

### Issue 4
apps/mobile/screens/(authenticated)/(home)/home/stores/workspacesFilterStore/workspacesFilterStore.ts:69-74
The selected person is saved without an organization scope. After someone selects a person in one organization and switches to another, Home and Search still filter by that user ID. The new organization’s workspaces can all appear to be missing until the filter is changed.

### Issue 5
apps/mobile/hooks/useArchivedCloudWorkspaces/useArchivedCloudWorkspaces.ts:67-75
When the archived-list request fails after its retries, this hook marks the result ready and supplies an empty array. Home then says “No archived workspaces” instead of indicating that it could not check, which can conceal existing archived workspaces during an API failure.

### Issue 6
apps/mobile/screens/(authenticated)/(home)/home/hooks/useCloudPullRequests/useCloudPullRequests.ts:36-39
If an organization has more than 500 distinct repository and branch refs, this slice silently drops the rest after sorting. Those workspaces show no PR badge even when a PR exists. The server limits each request to 500 refs, so the remaining refs need another batch.

Summary

This PR adds mobile Cloud status and creator filters, time-grouped Cloud rows with GitHub PR badges, and archive/unarchive actions. It also shares grouping and relative-period formatting with desktop and narrows the server’s archived list.

  • The review found an organization-boundary problem in pending moves, a PR entry point that depends on the sandbox, and an incomplete optimistic-cache rollback.
  • The new filters and list hooks also have narrower state and scale issues.

Keep archived-query failures separate from an empty archive.

When apiClient.cloudWorkspace.list.query fails with a non-FORBIDDEN error, useArchivedCloudWorkspaces returns [] and isReady: true. Home, Search, and StatusFilterScreen then show an empty archive or a zero count. This violates the mobile contract that failed queries are not answers.

The query retries twice, and Home refresh invalidates the ["cloud"] query family, so users have a recovery path. This is a recoverable, localized availability defect rather than a major archive lockout. Expose the error state and branch the existing empty/count render paths to show that the archive could not be loaded.

Expose the archived query’s failure state from useArchivedCloudWorkspaces,
rather than letting query.data fall back to NO_ROWS and treating the failure as
a completed empty result. Add an isError result based on query.isError, then
update the existing empty-state and count rendering paths in Home, Search, and

Roll back both caches when the mutation fails.

move removes the row from its original cache and inserts it into the destination cache. Neither archive nor unarchive restores those caches when the API mutation rejects. finally only ends the pending move and invalidates the queries. If the refetch fails, React Query retains the optimistic data, so an offline failure can leave the row in the wrong list until a later successful refetch.

Capture both list caches before move and restore them in a mutation-only catch before finally.

Update the cache move flow used by archive and unarchive so it captures both
list caches before the optimistic move and provides a rollback that restores

Keep a persisted creator visible in the picker.

If cloudCreator is an object but its userId is absent from people, CreatorFilterScreen renders no checked creator row. The filter remains active, and the home chip still displays the stored name, so the issue is limited to the picker.

Use the cloud identity from useWorkspaceHost for deletion.

When cloud exists but the sandbox registry no longer contains host.machineId, the screen shows Archive workspace, but useWorkspaceHeaderActions enters the non-cloud path. After confirmation, useDeleteWorkspace optimistically removes the served row and calls workspaceCleanup.destroy.mutate on the synthetic host. This can destroy the served workspace instead of archiving the cloud workspace.

Pass one cloud predicate to the header actions and use it in both callers.

Review comment at
@apps/mobile/screens/(authenticated)/workspace/[id]/WorkspaceScreen/WorkspaceScreen.tsx
around lines 946 - 961:
Update useWorkspaceHeaderActions to accept a cloud predicate and use it instead
of deriving cloud identity from host.machineId. In both callers, pass whether
useWorkspaceHost returned a cloud identity; in WorkspaceScreen, also use that
predicate to choose the archive or delete action and preserve cloud-workspace
deletion behavior when the sandbox host is missing.
