Two current CodeRabbit findings are reproducible and block approval:
-
createLazyPodmanContainerEngine().capture()drops the fourthprivateTransportargument. The privileged Podman cleanup path requests larger bounded input and an explicit output cap, but the wrapper silently falls back to the engine defaults. This can reject valid large shared state and loses the requested output bound. Forward the fourth argument and add a regression assertion that the requested input/output bounds reach the bound engine. -
The Docker stopped-target backup exclusion tests the complete tab-separated discovery output for a backup-name suffix. With the newly appended isolation-role column, a backup row with a non-empty role no longer ends in that suffix and can be selected. Parse the selected discovery row and reject the backup suffix in its name field before inspection or cleanup; cover a backup row with a populated role.
Current CI also fails the exact head in cli-test-shards (10) with ten interrupted-recovery failures, including unsupported runtime-version output and cleanup assertions being preempted by unproven sandbox identity. This is attributable to the current commit and matches the PR body. Repair the fixtures without weakening ownership, cleanup, or refusal assertions.
The exact-head managed activation jobs are still running. The only posted PR Review Advisor result is for e826d1d, so its E2E recommendation is stale for this head. Please obtain a current Advisor result and complete every recommended exact-head E2E before re-review.
Security review covered secrets, injection, authorization, credentials, network exposure, dependencies, data handling, supply chain, and workflow permissions. I found no separate critical vulnerability. The two findings above are runtime-boundary correctness and data-integrity blockers.

The Docker backup-row blocker is resolved. The repair parses the container name field before it applies the backup suffix check. The regression test covers a row with a populated sandbox role.
The Podman transport blocker remains. createLazyPodmanContainerEngine().capture() still accepts only args, timeout, and input. It calls the bound engine without the fourth privateTransport argument. The privileged cleanup path therefore loses its requested input and output bounds. Forward that argument and add a regression assertion that the bound engine receives both limits.
CI and automated review for this commit are still running. The posted PR Review Advisor result is for e826d1d, so its E2E recommendation is stale. I will approve after the remaining blocker is fixed and the latest-commit checks, automated review, and recommended E2E evidence are complete.

Both prior code blockers are resolved. The Docker path now checks the parsed container name before selecting a backup. The Podman wrapper now forwards privateTransport, and its regression test verifies both requested bounds reach the bound engine.
I could not run the focused test locally because this checkout has no installed root dependencies. Current CI is running the regression suite for this commit.

The latest repair is correct. Backup exclusion is now bound to the selected Docker target record. An unrelated supervisor backup no longer blocks a legitimate stopped target, while a selected backup container still fails closed. Regression coverage exercises both cases. A range-diff also confirmed that the preceding 21 reviewed patch commits were preserved unchanged across the main-branch merge.
I found no new blocking defect in this delta. I am not approving yet because refreshed exact-head checks and automated review are still running, and the posted PR Review Advisor result remains stale at e826d1d. I will approve after the current checks and automated reviews pass and every latest-head Advisor E2E recommendation is satisfied.

Reviewed commit e9e0488 against base e0e0afa. I found one data-safety blocker in the new OpenShell 0.1.3 workspace-approval flow. Please preserve a volume created by another invocation between the first inspection and named volume creation, and add a regression test for that interleaving. Code approval is withheld; CI and merge eligibility are separate.
src/lib/onboard/managed-workload/managed-state-volumes.ts:255-281: A successful named docker volume create does not prove this invocation created the volume. If another invocation creates this name after before reports absent, Docker returns the existing volume and this line records it in created. With the same NemoClaw ownership labels but another workspace approval, the new check at line 267 throws and the catch at line 276 removes that retained volume; the exit cleanup can also remove an approved competing volume. This contradicts the retained-data guarantee. Bind cleanup to an invocation-specific creation identity verified after creation and again before removal, or use an exclusive creation operation. Test both the mismatched-workspace and successful-create interleavings.

The prior volume-creation race is resolved. prepareManagedStateVolumes now records rollback ownership only when the observed volume carries this invocation's creation ID. Cleanup checks that ID again. The new tests cover a competing create with matching and mismatched workspace approval, plus replacement before rollback and exit cleanup.
Two blockers remain in paths unchanged by this repair:
-
scripts/checks/run-managed-image-openshell-e2e.ts:1284-1318,test/e2e/live/managed-image-protected-runtime-helpers.ts:301-310,969-1005, and.github/workflows/e2e.yaml:5213: Each of nine serial agent/provider transactions can consume two 210-second sandbox commands. Those commands alone can take 63 minutes of the 75-minute job budget, before provider startup, rollback, cleanup, and evidence publication. Slow successful qualification can therefore time out without a complete result. Reduce duplicated per-agent work or enforce a suite deadline that reserves time for rollback and evidence. Add a deterministic budget check. -
scripts/checks/run-managed-image-openshell-e2e.ts:239-265andtest/inference/managed/managed-image-interrupted-recovery.test.ts:141-149,455-468: Recovery cleanup selects a version-specific sandbox-list flag, but the test supplies only OpenShell 0.0.116 and asserts only--limit 2. Add a 0.1.3 cleanup case that observes the version read,--page-size 2, strict empty-list parsing, and subsequent cleanup. Keep the legacy assertion.
The replacement Advisor run 39893940712 assessed this PR's diff and raised these findings. Its proposed production version cutover belongs to #12603, as the PR outcome states, so that finding does not expand this PR's scope. I found no new security or data-safety issue in the three-file volume repair. The latest PR commit is GitHub Verified and DCO passed. CI is still running for this commit; approval is withheld because of the two findings above. GitHub currently reports the PR open and blocked.

The creation ID fixes the race between the first inspection and named creation. I need to correct my previous conclusion that the volume cleanup path was resolved. removeOwnedVolume checks the creation label at src/lib/onboard/managed-workload/managed-state-volumes.ts:164-178, then removes the current volume by reusable name at line 180. A competing invocation can replace that volume between those operations. Rollback or exit cleanup can then delete the competitor's retained data. The new tests replace the volume before cleanup inspects it; they do not cover replacement after that inspection. Three specialist reports in exact-commit Advisor run 39896622055 identify this same data-safety failure.
Please prevent replacement throughout the ownership check and removal, using an operation that binds deletion to the inspected identity. If the container engine cannot provide that guarantee, preserve the named volume during incomplete-create and exit cleanup instead of deleting by name. Add a test that replaces the volume after cleanup inspection and verifies that cleanup preserves the replacement. Another label inspection alone would leave the same gap.
The two findings in my previous review also remain: the protected runtime can exceed its 75-minute job budget, and the recovery test lacks the OpenShell 0.1.3 absence-query case. The production runtime cutover remains owned by #12603. Approval is withheld. The latest PR commit is unchanged and GitHub reports the PR open and blocked.

Outcome
Allow the trusted managed-image harness to exercise the OpenShell 0.1.3 candidate in #12603. Preserve the default OpenShell 0.0.116 behavior until the upgrade is separately qualified.
Reason
Protected E2E uses host code from the trusted workflow revision. Changes in the upgrade candidate alone cannot migrate this host code. Brev reproductions found failures in gateway configuration, state-volume admission, managed startup, policy parsing, and native inference.

Canonical sensitive-path classification at main
7312e7f49identifies 33 changed paths in runtime scripts, onboarding, and inference. The Advisor security specialist reviewed the publication commit and reported no P0/P1 security finding. Independent maintainer security approval remains pending. Those historical reports do not establish approval of the commit under review. The current repair and pending independent evaluation are recorded above. This is a trusted-harness prerequisite, not qualification of #12603 or permission to merge it. #12603 owns the runtime cutover and retirement of the compatibility branches after the final upgrade candidate passes its required qualification and independent review. The full GitHub PR E2E suite still needs to run on the final upgrade candidate.
The first eee891f run failed the OpenClaw PONG response assertion. Its response was not captured. A retry passed; the intermittent failure remains unresolved. New diagnostics preserve the assertion and redact the rejected response.
Docker private MCP TLS trust, Personal web/IP-pin coexistence, and legacy GPU compatibility remain separate qualification blockers for #12603. None is excluded as a main failure without matching evidence.
Advisor finding dispositions at
e826d1d120All nine specialist reports from 39850962883 were collected. Six reported no blocker. The blocker gate failed on the following three findings; the evidence below disputes them and does not claim a waiver or approval.
F-migration-completion-6bb79de7fc275113bb1f: outside this PR's accepted scope. This PR supplies the trusted harness prerequisite for chore(deps): upgrade OpenShell runtime and SDK to 0.1.3 #12603. Its outcome explicitly preserves OpenShell 0.0.116 until chore(deps): upgrade OpenShell runtime and SDK to 0.1.3 #12603 is separately qualified. Updating runtime/SDK pins here would perform the deferred cutover. The compatibility branches are exercised through the reviewed projection described below.F-delivery-flow-a239540244fa754e25a9: the review omitted the trusted projection. The protected workflow prepares and verifies the candidate OpenShell projection before building the trusted CLI. The projection rewritesSUPPORTED_OPENSHELL_FALLBACK_VERSIONto the approved candidate release. Thus the 0.1.3 workload-identity branch is reachable during qualification while normal production remains at 0.0.116. The projection and workspace verification suites passed in the 127-test run.F-operability-recovery-cb619dfd20985758099f: the cited onboarding path already applies the recorded selection before volume creation. The entry wrapper callsbeginAuthoritativeRebuildRuntimeSelectionScopebeforerunOnboardand restores the environment infinally. That scope replaces ambientOPENSHELL_WORKSPACEwithruntimeSelection.workspace. Ordinary creation carries the same environment into the sandbox create request; its environment filter preservesOPENSHELL_selectors. The existing hostile-selector test, projected volume approval tests, and sandbox lifecycle tests passed. The proposed ambient-versus-recorded mismatch is not reproduced on this path. The fresh Advisor evaluation 39853165961 received these source references and test results and passed.
