Precondition:

• Have a scan expense in a workspace
• Has camera permission enabled

1. Log in with any account as admin or employee
2. Go to any scan expense details
3. Tap the receipt preview
4. Tap on the three-dot menu > Replace > Image icon > Choose file
5. Stay on the file manager for about 60 seconds to ensure the camera is deactivated (depends on the device & its resource consumption)
6. Select a corrupted PDF file
7. Verify that an attachment error is shown and that the background does not turn black
8. Tap OK
9. Tap the green circle button
10. Verify that the receipt image is replaced with the newly captured picture

I've updated the solution here, as the root cause of the issue lies in how react-native-vision-camera handles camera permissions when the app goes into the background with the camera open

Specifically, when selecting a file via the 'Choose file' option (which opens the Android file manager), if the user stays too long in the picker—causing the app to be backgrounded—the camera gets deactivated. This results in a black screen with the following error:
system/camera-is-restricted Camera functionality is not available because it has been restricted by the operating system, possibly due to a device policy.

I believe this is a known issue with react-native-vision-camera, as I found this issue on their repository

The solution here is to remount the NavigationAwareCamera when the app returns from the background

@nyomanjyotisa So how is it related to the corrupted PDF? I kept the file picker fairly long and press back button to get back to the camera screen but didn't see it got deactivated. Tried on my physical device Yeah I did reproduce this but with > 60 seconds. I think this amount of time depends on the device & its resource consumption and it's easier to reprod on low-end emulators. So the minimal reproducible steps should be:

1. Press FAB > Create expense > Scan (grant camera permission if needed)
2. Background the app
3. Wait for at least 60 seconds
4. Reopen the app
5. Observe that the camera view is black
