WalkthroughApple WebView task stops now cancel matching Go request contexts through native task identity. Request finalizers synchronize cancellation and cleanup. Asset processing uses the request context and suppresses response operations after cancellation. Documentation records Apple support and Linux/Windows limitations. ChangesApple WebView cancellation
Estimated code review effort: 4 (Complex) | ~45 minutes Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to The change adds native cancellation for aborted Apple asset requests while preserving existing behavior on other platforms; no actionable merge-blocking risk remains beyond normal checks and review. entry containing the cancel function and identity token rather than retaining
the requestFinalizer rf; adjust registration and Close to compare the entry
token before removing it, and have the runtime finalizer invoke obj.close(true)
using its argument instead of closing over rf.

explicitly handles and discards the error returned by obj.close(true),
satisfying errcheck while preserving the existing finalizer behavior.

Follow-up commit 6cc1304 suppresses WebView response callbacks after the request context is cancelled, preventing late didReceiveResponse/didReceiveData/didFinish calls after stopURLSchemeTask. The integration test now has a cancelled handler write more than the sniffer prefix and verifies zero native header, body, or finish calls. Verification: focused native request race tests 20x; cancelled-handler race test 20x; go test -race ./internal/assetserver/...; go vet ./internal/assetserver/...; git diff --check. The required CodeRabbit plain-mode fallback was attempted after the fix but the free OSS quota was exhausted; its pre-fix full-diff run produced this finding. |

fix(v3): propagate Windows asset request cancellation Connect in-process WebView2 request identities to handler contexts, including worker aborts and lifecycle cleanup. Preserve keepalive work across page and worker teardown, bound its registrations, and forward native contexts through the shared application wrapper. Validate with 66 native Windows production scenarios, Windows and macOS application tests, asset-server race tests, and Windows x64/x86/ARM64 builds. Refs #5963 and #5969. Summary
http.Requestcontext when macOS or iOS WebKit callsstopURLSchemeTaskPartially addresses #5963 for macOS/iOS. The issue must remain open for Linux, Windows, and v2 follow-up. Linux and Windows remain explicitly limited by the lack of an early native abort signal in their current custom-scheme bridges.
Tests
go test -race ./internal/assetserver/webview ./internal/assetservergo vet ./internal/assetserver/...go test ./internal/assetserver/...go test ./pkg/application(passed on first focused run; a later broader combined run hit the pre-existing/environmentalTestX11GlobalShortcutEndToEndsynthesized-key timeout, reproduced in isolation)coderabbit --plain(unsupported by installed CLI); fallbackcoderabbit review --include-untrackedattempted but free OSS review limit was reachedPlatform scope
The native cancellation callback is available through
WKURLSchemeHandleron macOS and iOS. No corresponding early-abort callback is currently wired or observable in the WebKitGTK or WebView2 bridge, so this PR does not infer cancellation from response errors or simulate it on Linux/Windows.Summary by CodeRabbit
