[v3] file explorer on Linux doens't open directories #4397

Closed

Description

@angaz

Description

If you try to use fileexplorer.OpenFileManager("/home/angaz", true), on Linux, for example, it will open /home, not /home/angaz because of https://github.com/wailsapp/wails/blob/v3-alpha/v3/internal/fileexplorer/fileexplorer_linux.go#L70

I have a fix committed to my fork: https://github.com/wailsapp/wails/compare/v3-alpha...angaz:wails:v3-alpha?expand=1

I can make a PR if you would like. TBH, I'm not sure how the tests work.

    I've created PR #4777 with a fix for this issue.

    The root cause was in the pathToURI function which used url.PathEscape. This function escapes forward slashes (/ → %2F), producing malformed file URIs:

    /home/angaz -> file://%2Fhome%2Fangaz (broken)

    The fix uses url.URL struct instead, which properly constructs file URIs:

    /home/angaz -> file:///home/angaz (correct)

    @angaz could you please test PR #4777 and confirm it resolves your issue?
