Preserve category and property filters on generic discovery failures - #7663
Generic class discovery failures now retain category and custom-property attributes, so property filters select or exclude the same failure as a class/method path filter.
Generated failure entries carry a lazy attribute factory using the normal method, class/base-class, and assembly order. Accessible attributes are constructed directly; inaccessible custom attributes use the existing metadata attribute accessor so their actual filter values are preserved. Reflection class constraint failures use the cached attribute extractor and remove unrelated row data sources, matching existing method-failure handling. The optional entry property preserves compatibility with older generated entries.
Regression coverage includes explicit class and method constraint failures, uninferred class data, all four attribute scopes, matching/unmatched properties, and category exclusions. Uninferred class data intentionally fails in generated mode and runs successfully in reflection mode, which can infer the runtime row type.
Validation:
Core generator snapshots: 354 passed, 1 skipped; reviewed and updated six affected snapshots and added a focused regression snapshot.
Core public API snapshot: net10.0 passed; equivalent additive updates made for net8.0, net9.0, and net472 (CI validates those targets).
Filter matrix: 90 cases across managed generated/reflection discovery, with expected counts and outcomes.
Native AOT macOS arm64: publish succeeded with -m:1 -nr:false; all 45 filtered cases produced expected counts and outcomes.
Engine regression test project: net10.0 build passed.
Engine test execution is left to CI per repository instructions.
The inherited-method omission discovered during testing is tracked separately in #7662. Existing Native AOT warnings are tracked in #7493, #7430, and #7452; the first parallel publish hit the MSBuild worker failure tracked in #7468.
Review follow-up: pointer-bearing failure attributes now use a dedicated unsafe helper; regular generated methods remain outside that context. Failure collection reuses the regular attribute-order helper. The new compiler regression and updated snapshots pass in the full net10.0 generator suite (355 passed, 1 skipped). Behavioural attributes are intentionally retained in both modes; constraint-violation data sources fail test building before normal skip evaluation and never create executable tests.
Summary by CodeRabbit
Bug Fixes
Generic test cases that fail discovery because of constraint violations retain applicable test, category, property, method, class, and assembly filters. Discovery failures can be selected or excluded using the same filters as other tests.
Constraint violations involving attributes with pointer values no longer prevent generated tests from compiling.
Generic data-source scenarios now report inference failures consistently in source-generation mode.
Metadata-based method lookup more reliably distinguishes generic overloads, reducing the chance of resolving the wrong method.
Inherited attributes now follow their configured inheritance and multiple-use rules, keeping filters consistent across reflection and generated discovery.
Review and CI follow-up:
Share the attribute writer eligibility predicate with the unsafe check, and preserve inaccessible custom filter attributes through the existing metadata accessor instead of emitting private type references.
Bypass class-constructor initialization on violation metadata and remove every unrelated reflection data-source attribute, so user initialization cannot replace or collapse constraint failures.
Retained EngineTest=Pass properties exposed six fixtures that intentionally fail generated inference but succeed in reflection mode. Remove their misleading passing-suite classification and replace their dedicated generated-mode skips with explicit inference-failure assertions; keep their existing reflection assertions.
Add compilation and managed/AOT regressions for private filter attributes, throwing class constructors with multiple violations, and unused source property injection.
TestProject and Engine.Tests net10.0 builds passed; Engine.Tests execution remains CI-only.
18 targeted managed generated/reflection runs passed their expected counts, outcomes, and error messages.
Native AOT macOS arm64 publish passed; all 9 targeted cases retained their expected constraint/inference failures and filter categories, including the private custom category.
Latest review fixes (3c3bf6e, ad710be): preserve constructed private generic attributes, route inaccessible attribute argument types through metadata, and resolve overloaded metadata methods by parameter shape and generic arity. Added seven passing lookup unit cases and a private-type compiler regression; full generator suite passed (358 passed, 1 skipped). Ten managed generated/reflection cases and five Native AOT cases passed their expected counts and original constraint errors, including overloaded Run(T)/Run(string)/Run(object). TestProject and Engine.Tests builds passed; engine execution remains CI-only. Normal executable-entry private argument emission is tracked separately in #7666.
Inheritance review fix (47c686c): failure entries now honor inherited AttributeUsage, Inherited=false, and non-repeatable class-attribute shadowing before indexing private fallback attributes. Added a private inheritance regression and reviewed snapshot. Generator suite: 358 passed, 1 skipped. TestProject and Engine.Tests builds passed; eight managed generated/reflection cases and four native AOT macOS arm64 cases passed. Engine.Tests execution remains CI-only.
Final inheritance follow-up (a683e2d): use concrete AttributeUsage defaults in generated failure entries and apply inheritance/shadowing rules in the NETSTANDARD attribute-data fallback. Added ordered fallback unit cases, a private implicit-usage fixture, engine assertions, and reviewed snapshot. Generator suite: 358 passed, 1 skipped; two inheritance unit cases passed; netstandard2.0 Core and net10.0 Engine.Tests builds passed. Four managed cases and five native AOT macOS arm64 cases matched expected filter counts and constraint failures; AOT publish succeeded. net472 execution and engine execution remain CI-only.
CI follow-up: preserve the exact MethodInfo already resolved by reflection discovery in internal metadata. Closed generic methods no longer undergo ambiguous/incomplete re-resolution when matrix attributes are read. Added an eight-case passing lookup suite including a closed generic reflection regression. The constructor inference regression now uses an exact class filter, excluding the similarly named passing fixture. TestProject and Engine.Tests Release builds pass; targeted generated/reflection matrix and class/method-pair cases each run four passing tests. Engine.Tests execution remains CI-only. The unrelated throwing attribute-constructor edge reported as minor feedback is tracked in #7671.
Native AOT macOS arm64 publish succeeded; all three exact constructor filters each selected one failure with the expected original inference error. Existing AOT fixture warnings remain tracked in #7493, #7430 and #7452.
Array-shape review fix (30e22a5): generated metadata preserves recursive generic array shapes with additive ArrayType metadata, so inaccessible-attribute lookup can distinguish overloaded Run(T[]) and Run(string[]). Method lookup changes in this PR are intentional prerequisites for retaining the original method filter attributes. Metadata dependency comparison recurses through the new shape. Reviewed nine generator snapshots; full suite passed (358 passed, 1 skipped), 12 lookup/equality unit cases passed, and net10.0 Core public API passed (equivalent additive snapshots updated for all targets). Six managed generated/reflection cases and three Native AOT macOS arm64 cases preserved the original constraint failure or selected zero tests as expected. Native publish and TestProject/Engine.Tests Release builds passed; engine execution and other public API target execution remain CI-only. The independent unpinned npm browser installation failure in the latest pipeline is tracked in #7672.
Inherited-method review fix (2397585): generated failure attributes now traverse overridden methods using the shared method/class inheritance routine, so private category occurrence indices match reflection discovery. Missing occurrences are skipped without replacing the original constraint failure. Added a private repeatable base-method/derived-class category regression. Full generator suite passed (358 passed, 1 skipped); reviewed seven snapshots. TestProject and Engine.Tests Release builds passed; six managed generated/reflection and three Native AOT macOS arm64 cases matched expected counts and original constraint failures. Native publish succeeded; Engine.Tests execution remains CI-only.

Generic constraint-violation entries now preserve applicable test attributes in generated and reflection discovery. The generator handles inherited, private, and pointer-valued attributes. Method lookup now matches parameter metadata and generic arity. Engine tests also assert generated-mode inference failures for selected generic data-source cases.

Explanation
Issue #7437 is the only active directly linked issue. The implementation preserves category and custom-property attributes on generic discovery failures in generated and reflection modes. It collects method, class/base-class, and assembly attributes with inheritance and multiplicity rules. It preserves inaccessible attribute values through metadata accessors and excludes unrelated data-source attributes. Generated and engine regression coverage includes matching, non-matching, excluded, inherited, private, and uninferred-data cases. The reported generator, managed, and Native AOT validation supports the required behavior.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The changes remain connected to #7437. The optional failure-entry factory preserves compatibility. Constructor handling prevents user initialization from replacing constraint failures. Shared attribute eligibility, metadata method lookup, and inheritance fallback support correct failure-attribute reconstruction. Fixture and snapshot changes provide regression coverage. Updates to inference-failure tests correct classifications exposed by this behavior. The separately tracked #7662 and #7666 work is not implemented here, and no unrelated product change is demonstrated.

A rabbit checks each failure’s tags, Through class and method, base, and flags. When pointers pause the source to write, A careful factory sets things right. And overloads find their shape, While tests keep every path in place.
Looks good overall. The change is small and targeted, and it fixes the filtering gap from #7437.
What I checked
The generator builds the attribute list in the same order as regular tests: method, then class and base types, then assembly. It excludes data-source attributes, so unrelated rows don't leak into the failure entry. The new snapshot shows the expected ordering, including the base-class attributes.
The factory is a static lambda over emitted new Attribute(...) expressions, so there is no runtime reflection on the open generic type. That keeps it Native AOT-safe.
Reflection mode uses ScopeRowAttributesToTest(GetAllAttributes(...), null, null). This is the same helper that method-level failures already use (ReflectionTestDataCollector.cs:3462), so both modes behave alike.
AttributeFactory is optional (Func<Attribute[]>?) and falls back to static () => []. Older generated entries therefore keep working.
The new snapshots are additive and intentional, and the test coverage is broad: four attribute scopes, matching and non-matching properties, category exclusions.
Points to consider (non-blocking)
The failure entries now carry the full attribute set, including behavioural attributes such as [Skip], [Retry], [Timeout] and [DependsOn]. A constraint failure on a [Skip] class may now surface as a skip instead of a failure, or the reverse. That may be what you want, since it matches regular tests, but I'd pin the behaviour down in a test or note it in the PR.
In EmitClassConstraintViolationEntries, the attribute-collection chain duplicates what the regular test emission does. If there is a shared helper for 'method + type + base + assembly attributes', reuse it so the two orderings can't drift apart.
The two Create overloads and ToTestMetadata all gained a defaulted attributeFactory. This is fine, but you could make the parameter required on the internal overloads, so a future caller can't silently drop filter attributes.
No blocking issues. Approving in spirit; CI is the check for the net8, net9 and net472 public API snapshots, which you updated by hand.
[Medium impact] The PR appears safe to merge; no new blocking issues were found.
Summary
Generic discovery failures now retain category and custom-property attributes in generated and reflection discovery.
Generic discovery failures now match category and property filters.
Generic overloads and array parameters resolve to the right method.
Inherited filter attributes follow their inheritance and repeat-use rules.
No new actionable issues were found. The earlier pointer, overload, private-generic-attribute, and inheritance findings are addressed in the current code. All supplied previous threads were unnumbered, so they require no numbered ledger entries.
thomhurst explicitly deferred throwing attribute constructors to #7671, ordinary executable-entry private arguments to #7666, and inherited-test discovery omissions to #7662.
This review checked source code and snapshots; it did not execute tests.

Retaining behavioural attributes is intentional in both discovery modes. Constraint-violation data sources fail during test building, before the ordinary skip evaluation (TestBuilder.cs, constraint-violation catch versus GetBasicSkipReason), and never create an executable test (GenericConstraintViolationTestMetadata.CreateExecutableTestFactory). This change does not make an invalid closed generic type executable; retry/timeout/dependency attributes do not repair its discovery failure.
Addressed in e87eed9: failure attribute collection now reuses GetTestAttributes, then removes class/assembly data sources as required for failure entries. Attribute precedence shares the regular emission helper.
Keeping the optional internal factory parameters for now: their existing empty-factory fallback is intentional, and all current generated/reflection failure call sites pass the factory. Tightening internal signatures is optional cleanup and adds no filtering fix here.
Pointer compilation regression and affected snapshots validated with dotnet test --project tests/TUnit.Core.SourceGenerator.Tests --framework net10.0: 355 passed, 1 skipped. Restore/build warnings encountered are already tracked in #7412 and #7410. No engine test suite was run, per repository instructions.
I found no blocking issues. I read the diff and spot-checked the pr-head sources. I did not build the project or run any tests.
What looks good
The optional AttributeFactory on GenericConstraintViolationEntry defaults to an empty factory (attributeFactory ?? (static () => [])). Entries from older generated code keep working.
Source-gen and reflection modes behave the same. The reflection path reuses ReflectionAttributeExtractor.GetAllAttributes and TestBuilder.ScopeRowAttributesToTest, so it matches the existing method-failure handling.
The generated factory is a static lambda with no runtime reflection, so it is AOT and trimming friendly. Data-source attributes are filtered out.
Pointer and function-pointer type arguments are handled by a separate unsafe helper method. Normal entries stay out of an unsafe context. PointerFailureAttributeCompilationTests covers this.
Coverage is thorough. It spans all four attribute scopes, category exclusion, property matching, and the uninferred-class case. Six snapshots were updated and a new one was added.
Suggestions (non-blocking)
GetConstraintViolationAttributes is evaluated once. The attribute array is then used both for the unsafe check and for writing. This is correct. A short comment on why data sources are excluded would help future readers.
AttributeRequiresUnsafeContext only inspects typeof(...) constants. That covers the realistic cases today. If attributes with other pointer-bearing arguments become possible, this check will need to be extended.
The per-entry helper name __CreateConstraintViolationAttributes is not unique if one generated class holds several failure entries. The snapshots show one entry per class, so this is fine for now. If entries are ever batched into one class, the helper would collide, so consider suffixing it with the entry index.
Overall this is a clean, well-tested fix. Approving from a design standpoint.
Disposition of the latest Claude non-blocking suggestions for e87eed9:
The helper explicitly filters IDataSourceAttribute implementations, and the PR description explains that unrelated row data sources must not leak into discovery failures. No additional comment is needed for this targeted fix.
The recursive unsafe check covers type constants and arrays of constants, including pointer and function-pointer symbols. Extending it for hypothetical future attribute argument forms is outside this fix.
Failure entries are emitted once per generated test-method class, with all violation messages in that entry. The helper therefore has one definition per class; an entry suffix is unnecessary with the current emission model.
Both required reviewers have positive verdicts on this head, and the inline pointer finding is fixed and resolved. Promoting to ready for CI and the ready-for-review Claude run; auto-merge must wait for that review to complete and be read.
I read the generator, core, and reflection changes and the new generated snapshot. I found nothing blocking and I didn't run the tests.
What looks good
AttributeFactory is optional and lazy. Older generated entries still work, and attribute instances are only built when the filter needs them.
The generator reuses GetTestAttributes, so attribute order matches regular generated methods (method, class, base class, assembly). The snapshot shows this order. It excludes data-source attributes, so no row data leaks into failure entries.
The unsafe context is limited to a dedicated helper, and only when an attribute argument has a pointer or function-pointer type, including inside arrays. This avoids making the whole class unsafe, which would clash with awaits in mixed entries. PointerFailureAttributeCompilationTests covers it.
The reflection path uses the cached ReflectionAttributeExtractor and ScopeRowAttributesToTest. This matches how method-failure entries are already handled, so there is no new reflection and no AOT risk.
Regression coverage is broad: all four attribute scopes, matching and non-matching properties, category exclusion, and uninferred class data. The snapshots and public API files were updated for every target framework.
Minor suggestions (non-blocking)
The generator emits the attribute list in two places: a static lambda and an unsafe helper. You could always emit the named helper and add the unsafe modifier only when needed. That removes the branch, and the generated code would have one shape for the snapshots to track. The cost is one extra method per failure entry.
__CreateConstraintViolationAttributes has a fixed name. That is safe today because each test source holds one method's entries. If failure entries are ever grouped into a shared class, the names will collide. A short comment, or a suffix such as the method index, would guard against this.
The new Issue7437Tests in TUnit.Engine.Tests can only be validated in CI, since it is not run locally. Please check that CI is green for it on both the source-generated and reflection modes.
Overall this is a clean, well-tested fix. Approving in spirit.

Pushed ed2cf2c to address all four CodeRabbit findings. Validation and the native AOT reflection fallback are documented in the PR body.
The earlier blocker, Claude review run 42070928927, completed successfully. The AOT failures in run 42070928295 were caused by newly retained EngineTest=Pass labels on six fixtures whose generated inference intentionally fails. Their dedicated tests now assert those generated/AOT failures instead of skipping those modes, and retain the existing reflection-success assertions. The fixtures no longer claim to belong to the global passing suite. All six cases were checked individually in both managed modes and native AOT.
Claude's non-blocking suggestions are dispositioned as follows: the unsafe helper remains conditional to avoid unnecessary generated members; its fixed name is scoped to one test source per method, as verified by the compiler regressions and snapshots. Both engine test jobs passed on the preceding head; the expanded engine regressions on this head are left to CI. Current-head reviews and CI will run after this push; auto-merge remains unarmed.
Overall this is a solid, well-scoped fix for #7437. The lazy AttributeFactory keeps the generated entries cheap. The reflection path reuses ReflectionAttributeExtractor and ScopeRowAttributesToTest rather than adding a parallel mechanism. The optional property keeps older generated entries compatible. Test coverage is thorough (all four attribute scopes, match and unmatched properties, category exclusion, Native AOT run).
Points I'd check before merging:
Private-attribute fallback may only see method-level attributes. The fallback in TestMetadataGenerator.WriteConstraintViolationAttributes emits MetadataExtensions.GetCustomAttributes(__mm_0) filtered by FullName, then ElementAt(occurrence). occurrence is counted across the combined method, class, base-class and assembly list. The lookup runs against method metadata only, so I'm not sure it covers the other scopes. A private custom attribute on the class, base class or assembly could then give an index that doesn't exist and throw ArgumentOutOfRangeException inside the factory at discovery time. The new regression only seems to exercise the private attribute on the method. Please confirm, or add a private-attribute case at class and assembly scope. A defensive ElementAtOrDefault and filtering out nulls would also keep a mismatch from crashing discovery.
Generator complexity. The metadata-name building, occurrence counting and unsafe-context splitting add a lot of logic to one generator file. Consider moving this into a small helper, such as an AttributeWriter method that returns an 'accessible expression or accessor expression' for an attribute. Then the normal test-source path can share it and the two paths can't drift. CanWriteAttribute is already a step in that direction.
Class-constructor behaviour change. The TestBuilder change skips ClassConstructorAttribute for GenericConstraintViolationTestMetadata. The rationale in the comment is reasonable. Please make sure there is a test that two violations of one class are still reported separately, so this doesn't regress silently.
Public API. The net8, net9 and net472 public API snapshots were updated by hand, so CI is the real check there.
None of these are blocking if (1) is confirmed to work. Otherwise it needs a small fix.

I read the source changes and the snapshot output. I didn't run any tests. Overall this is a well-scoped fix for #7437, and I found no blocking problems.
What looks good
AttributeWriter.CanWriteAttribute is extracted from the loop in WriteAttributes, so failure entries and normal tests apply the same attribute filter instead of two copies drifting apart.
AttributeFactory is lazy and optional (Func<Attribute[]>?), so generated code from older versions still works. The public API snapshots are updated additively.
The reflection path reuses ReflectionAttributeExtractor and strips data-source attributes. That matches how method failures already behave.
Skipping ClassConstructorAttribute for GenericConstraintViolationTestMetadata in TestBuilder is sensible. Running user constructors there could hide the violation or merge several violations into one failure. A comment explains it.
The unsafe context is limited to a dedicated __CreateConstraintViolationAttributes method, so it doesn't leak into entries that contain awaits.
Coverage is broad: four attribute scopes, matching and non-matching properties, category exclusion, and pointer-bearing attributes.
Suggestions (non-blocking)
Fragile fallback for inaccessible attributes. The ElementAt(Where(GetCustomAttributes(__mm_0), ...FullName == "..."), n) expression is built by string concatenation inside WriteConstraintViolationAttributes. It throws ArgumentOutOfRangeException if the occurrence index doesn't line up with what GetCustomAttributes returns. That could happen with inherited or AllowMultiple attributes, or when generic constructed forms are counted by their original definition. The MetadataExtensions helper looks like a cleaner home for this. A small runtime helper such as MetadataExtensions.GetAttributeOccurrence(mm, fullName, index) would reduce the size of the emitted code, which matters in snapshots and for trimming. It could also return null and skip the entry instead of throwing during discovery.
Ordering parity between modes. Generated mode emits method, then class, then base class, then assembly. Reflection uses GetAllAttributes. Order doesn't affect filtering, but AGENTS.md asks for identical behaviour in both modes, so a short test or comment on the invariant would help.
The public Create(..., Func<Attribute[]>? attributeFactory = null) overload adds an optional parameter to a public method. It is binary-breaking for callers compiled against the old signature, though generated code is the only expected caller. A separate overload would avoid that. If it is intentional, it's fine.
The earlier blocker run 42070928927 completed successfully. All current-head checks now pass, including both Engine tests jobs, both AOT jobs, and the macOS pipeline. Claude review run 42099697673 passed on 42a4d3c with no blocking findings; the Codex summary reports completed with no findings on that same full SHA. All inline threads have dispositions and are resolved.
Disposition of Claude comment 6668001537: the name-only early-filter contract is already documented in GetFilterData; category/property filtering remains after materialization. Late-registration array replacement is documented and remains a rare path. Caching TestAttribute lookup and moving the idempotent SkipIfEmpty assignment are optional optimizations with no demonstrated performance or correctness defect, so they do not justify another implementation round. The public API additions are additive; the hosted CI validation requested by the reviewer is now green. No blocking or undecided finding remains.

Generic class discovery failures now retain category and custom-property attributes, so property filters select or exclude the same failure as a class/method path filter.
Generated failure entries carry a lazy attribute factory using the normal method, class/base-class, and assembly order. Accessible attributes are constructed directly; inaccessible custom attributes use the existing metadata attribute accessor so their actual filter values are preserved. Reflection class constraint failures use the cached attribute extractor and remove unrelated row data sources, matching existing method-failure handling. The optional entry property preserves compatibility with older generated entries.
Regression coverage includes explicit class and method constraint failures, uninferred class data, all four attribute scopes, matching/unmatched properties, and category exclusions. Uninferred class data intentionally fails in generated mode and runs successfully in reflection mode, which can infer the runtime row type.
Validation:
-m:1 -nr:false; all 45 filtered cases produced expected counts and outcomes.

Review and CI follow-up:
EngineTest=Passproperties exposed six fixtures that intentionally fail generated inference but succeed in reflection mode. Remove their misleading passing-suite classification and replace their dedicated generated-mode skips with explicit inference-failure assertions; keep their existing reflection assertions.Follow-up validation:
Latest review fixes (3c3bf6e, ad710be): preserve constructed private generic attributes, route inaccessible attribute argument types through metadata, and resolve overloaded metadata methods by parameter shape and generic arity. Added seven passing lookup unit cases and a private-type compiler regression; full generator suite passed (358 passed, 1 skipped). Ten managed generated/reflection cases and five Native AOT cases passed their expected counts and original constraint errors, including overloaded Run(T)/Run(string)/Run(object). TestProject and Engine.Tests builds passed; engine execution remains CI-only. Normal executable-entry private argument emission is tracked separately in #7666.
Inheritance review fix (47c686c): failure entries now honor inherited AttributeUsage, Inherited=false, and non-repeatable class-attribute shadowing before indexing private fallback attributes. Added a private inheritance regression and reviewed snapshot. Generator suite: 358 passed, 1 skipped. TestProject and Engine.Tests builds passed; eight managed generated/reflection cases and four native AOT macOS arm64 cases passed. Engine.Tests execution remains CI-only.
Final inheritance follow-up (a683e2d): use concrete AttributeUsage defaults in generated failure entries and apply inheritance/shadowing rules in the NETSTANDARD attribute-data fallback. Added ordered fallback unit cases, a private implicit-usage fixture, engine assertions, and reviewed snapshot. Generator suite: 358 passed, 1 skipped; two inheritance unit cases passed; netstandard2.0 Core and net10.0 Engine.Tests builds passed. Four managed cases and five native AOT macOS arm64 cases matched expected filter counts and constraint failures; AOT publish succeeded. net472 execution and engine execution remain CI-only.
CI follow-up: preserve the exact MethodInfo already resolved by reflection discovery in internal metadata. Closed generic methods no longer undergo ambiguous/incomplete re-resolution when matrix attributes are read. Added an eight-case passing lookup suite including a closed generic reflection regression. The constructor inference regression now uses an exact class filter, excluding the similarly named passing fixture. TestProject and Engine.Tests Release builds pass; targeted generated/reflection matrix and class/method-pair cases each run four passing tests. Engine.Tests execution remains CI-only. The unrelated throwing attribute-constructor edge reported as minor feedback is tracked in #7671.
Native AOT macOS arm64 publish succeeded; all three exact constructor filters each selected one failure with the expected original inference error. Existing AOT fixture warnings remain tracked in #7493, #7430 and #7452.
Array-shape review fix (30e22a5): generated metadata preserves recursive generic array shapes with additive ArrayType metadata, so inaccessible-attribute lookup can distinguish overloaded Run(T[]) and Run(string[]). Method lookup changes in this PR are intentional prerequisites for retaining the original method filter attributes. Metadata dependency comparison recurses through the new shape. Reviewed nine generator snapshots; full suite passed (358 passed, 1 skipped), 12 lookup/equality unit cases passed, and net10.0 Core public API passed (equivalent additive snapshots updated for all targets). Six managed generated/reflection cases and three Native AOT macOS arm64 cases preserved the original constraint failure or selected zero tests as expected. Native publish and TestProject/Engine.Tests Release builds passed; engine execution and other public API target execution remain CI-only. The independent unpinned npm browser installation failure in the latest pipeline is tracked in #7672.
Inherited-method review fix (2397585): generated failure attributes now traverse overridden methods using the shared method/class inheritance routine, so private category occurrence indices match reflection discovery. Missing occurrences are skipped without replacing the original constraint failure. Added a private repeatable base-method/derived-class category regression. Full generator suite passed (358 passed, 1 skipped); reviewed seven snapshots. TestProject and Engine.Tests Release builds passed; six managed generated/reflection and three Native AOT macOS arm64 cases matched expected counts and original constraint failures. Native publish succeeded; Engine.Tests execution remains CI-only.
