[kit v2.68.0] Date are empty object after form.fields.set(data)

Describe the bug

in v2.68.0, after using remote_form.fields.set(data), remote_form.fields.random_date.value() return an empty object instead of a Date.

We're not actively developing Kit v2 anymore; it's only receiving security fixes. Version 3 and 2 have diverged far enough that it's very difficult to make changes to v2 without causing tons of conflicts in v3. Especially for experimental APIs, the level of effort just isn't worth it.
