unicode_gauntlet ran --jobs scans at once, each starting its own extraction worker pool (N x N processes; load 79 on 12 cores). Also set in cultural_gauntlet pool cells and import_graph_accuracy scan_group. An explicit caller value wins. The unicode gauntlet ran --jobs scans in parallel, each starting its own extraction worker pool (N x N). Now sets GALAXYSCOPE_MAX_WORKERS=1 via setdefault (an explicit caller value wins), as tests/conftest.py does under xdist (#3913).
Changed: tests/tools/unicode_gauntlet.py (scan env), cultural_gauntlet.py (_run_cell, ProcessPool cells), import_graph_accuracy.py (scan_group, threaded subprocess scans). Test: tests/tools/test_unicode_gauntlet_scan_env.py.
Left: rosetta_audit.py (external verifier, <=4 jobs, 900s timeout), det_survey.py / cics_census.py (translation, no galaxyscope scan).
Evidence (heavy-run.sh, unicode_gauntlet.py, 950 cells, box_status/loadavg sampled every 10s):
