Epic: logic porting under customer control -- bring-your-own LLM, human approval, proven equivalence #3755

Description

@squid-protocol

Follows epic #3625 (closed). That epic generates a verified, traceable Spring structure for a whole mainframe estate and proves equivalence on one hand-ported program (#3624: CardDemo CBACT04C, 100/100 records). This epic moves the business logic, with the customer in control.

Principle. Other tools let an LLM rewrite the logic and claim the result. Here:

  • the logic is ported per program onto the generated skeleton, from a bounded, fact-rich ticket;
  • by the customer's own choice of model (hosted, self-hosted or air-gapped) or by a person;
  • every port is proven against the original COBOL, record by record;
  • a person approves before anything is accepted.

"Percent automated" is then a measured, evidence-backed number, not a claim.

Order:

  1. Java conversion: a porting ticket for every program with business logic, by default #3752 A porting ticket for every program with business logic, by default.
  2. Logic porting loop: bring-your-own LLM, human approval, proven by the equivalence harness #3753 The porting loop: bring-your-own LLM, human approval, proven by the harness; first measured on CardDemo's batch programs.
  3. Equivalence harness: CICS online programs (EXEC CICS stub runtime on the COBOL side) #3754 The harness for CICS online programs (EXEC CICS stub runtime), so online transactions are proven too.
