Extraction hardening: cobol CICS channels and containers #2484

Closed

Description

@squid-protocol

Parent: #2516

GitGalaxy currently misses modern CICS state transfer features. Channels and Containers have largely replaced the legacy 32KB COMMAREA, but the structural signatures do not extract them.

Expand the state_mutation and ipc_rpc_bridges regexes in language_standards.py to track:

  • EXEC CICS PUT CONTAINER
  • EXEC CICS GET CONTAINER
  • EXEC CICS MOVE CONTAINER

Implementation Guide

Target File: gitgalaxy/standards/language_standards.py (COBOL section, ~lines 9033, 9170)
Action:

  1. state_mutation: Expand the current verb list to include CICS container operations.
    Proposal: r"\b(MOVE|COMPUTE|...|UNSTRING|EXEC\s+CICS\s+(?:PUT|GET|MOVE)\s+CONTAINER)\b"
  2. ipc_rpc_bridges: Ensure container transfers (often used for cross-program state) trigger bridging sensors alongside LINK and XCTL.
    Testing: Ensure tests/extraction/languages/test_cobol_strict.py validates these new matches and tests/extraction/tools/verify_candidates.py clears them for ReDoS immunity.
