Upstream tracking: ctags emits synthetic AnonymousFunction and AnonymousClass placeholders in JavaScript #2164

Description

@squid-protocol

Description

During a tri-comparison ledger sweep, we identified that universal-ctags emits synthetic AnonymousFunction<hex> and AnonymousClass<hex> tags for bare inline callbacks or anonymous classes that have no attributable name.

GitGalaxy and tree-sitter both correctly agree that these are anonymous and do not count them in the named function/class metrics.

Scope

  • Accounts for ~93 class existence discrepancies and ~8 function existence discrepancies where GitGalaxy and tree-sitter correctly agree against ctags.

Action

This is an artifact of the ctags synthetic placeholder scheme. We fixed this in the pipeline by extending tri_comparison_gatherer.py to ignore these JS synthetic names. Tracking here for visibility.
