Problem Statement
Since Essentials doesn't have Root Access I'm guessing the upcoming Pause Point feature relies on App Usage Info which has numerous issues. Apps that rely on it are often very glitchy and unreliable. They can often also trigger with a delay which makes the user experience worse. It would work make the feature not feel as native as it would otherwise.
Proposed Solution
If implemented as an LSPosed module this feature can directly hook into the system framework and trigger the pause point before the activity for the app even launches. This would make the feature a lot more reliable. This would prevent a dependency on App Usage Info which can be wildly inconsistent. Reference for code implementation: https://github.com/hxreborn/biometric-app-lock
Priority
Medium - Would improve my experience
Contribution
Additional Context
If anyone wanting to contribute needs any testers I would be more than happy to help out! I'm running a Pixel 9 Pro XL with the latest Canary (ZP11.260717.006) and plan to stay on this branch in the foreseeable future too.
