cargo rustc -- -Z no-trans always fails

Compiling the crate itself will always fail with an error similar to (example from compiling void):

$ cargo rustc --verbose -- -Zno-trans

Caused by:
  No such file or directory (os error 2)

The error remains even after a cargo clean or a normal build.
