gtkaml is a Vala markup compiler that turns `.gtkaml` and `.gtkon` files into
regular Vala/C sources.

This tree has been rebased around the newer `gtkaml3` architecture:

- `libgtkaml/` contains the parser, AST, resolver and Vala integration.
- `src/gtkamlcompiler.vala` is the frontend compiler driver.
- `markuphints/` replaces the old `data/*.implicits` files.

Current focus

- Modern Vala toolchains through `libvala-<api>` detection in `configure`.
- GTK 3 support via `gtk+-3.0.markuphints`.
- GTK 4 support via `gtk4.markuphints`.
- libadwaita support via `libadwaita-1.markuphints`.

Build requirements

- `valac`
- development files for a matching `libvala-<api>` package
- `glib-2.0`
- `gio-2.0`
- `libxml-2.0`
- `libtool`, `autoconf`, `automake` for bootstrap builds

Typical bootstrap:

The compiler relies on markuphints to resolve container child APIs. For
uninstalled builds, keep passing `--vapidir ./markuphints`; after install the
hints are loaded from `$(pkgdatadir)/markuphints`.
