Install source and version

  • Installed from the Windows Store
  • Installed with the MSIX from python.org
  • Installed with the MSI from python.org
  • Installed with winget install 9NQ7512CXL7T

Describe the bug
File corruption most likely, and reinstalling does not fix the issue.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  • Start installation of any python distribution
  • During end-phase, after extraction, force shut down system
  • Type py in powershell, and the error can be seen.

Not very sure if this can be reliable reproduced.

Expected behavior
Python interactive shell should open for the default python interpreter.

Had to spend 10-15 mins to figure out uninstalling all this

Windows 11
re-installation did not fix the issue, I had to get rid of all the relevant exe files from AppData, before that I had to turn of execution aliases.
