Upstream integration cycle: d5980a0ff1..921cb3c8bc (13 sources) #967

Description

@rynfar

Successor to #961. Frozen T3 range: d5980a0ff1511e6ae1f1876406a7c45a7a989cdb..921cb3c8bc772309ccab4c422b091d0a91497a49 (13 source commits, 57 files, +2397/-316 at the 2026-10-01 fetch). Later T3 arrivals belong to a later cycle. Same standing approval and constraints as #865/#961; Oh My Pi stays excluded.

Initial read-only triage (dispositions are not final until a PR lands or a skip is recorded):

Source Subject Initial triage
bd89c13020 (#14486) Grok CLIs older than 1.0.13 marked broken Candidate. Interacts with the deferred provider version-compatibility series (96c4bfa0a2, d4cd7d5c33); port only if self-contained.
7c67876983 (#14490) Hide disconnected environments when adding projects Compatible candidate (multi-environment clients).
6b286ae8a2 (#13612) Start threads without a project Product decision owned by design review #963; not a straight port.
9da066dbe9 (#14497) Claude /compact no longer ends early and leaves the thread busy Priority candidate; verify against Pylon turn admission and Stop receipts.
1905846e03 (#14499) Dark+/Light+ themes import instead of colliding with built-in ids Compatible candidate (theming follows upstream).
0cf482b08b (#10154) Composer suggestions usable with screen readers Candidate; Pylon's composer is Lexical-based, adapt rather than copy.
67b175a4c9 (#14028) Release: concurrent npm platform packages Likely skip (T3 npm/CLI distribution is excluded).
6f8e2534f2 (#14025) CI: PR checks side by side, balanced server shards Evaluate against Pylon CI; adopt only what fits Pylon's workflow.
8630e1ac7a (#14037) Release: trim Windows packaging setup Evaluate against Pylon's Windows packaging.
c57a04b722 (#14027) Release: Windows builds without waiting for Linux Evaluate against Pylon release workflow (release changes need their own authorization to run).
783ccf0fdd (#14029) Release: Vercel deployments early, live after publish Likely skip unless Pylon marketing deploy matches.
7ab800a43c (#14540) Claude subagents with their own model no longer show the parent's model Compatible candidate.
921cb3c8bc (#14542) Restart the agent session from cmd+k to load new skills/plugins Candidate; check Pylon session lifecycle ownership.

Workflow: review-t3-upstream skill, isolated worktrees from fresh origin/pylon, focused regression tests, independent adversarial review, final-head CI, UI evidence where applicable. Advance .agents/upstream-review.md only when every source has an authorized outcome.

Disposition update for this cycle. All 13 sources are listed. "Prepared" means a PR is open with green CI and not merged.

    Source Subject Status
9da066dbe9 (#14497) Claude /compact no longer ends early and leaves the thread busy Prepared in #973. The upstream test was adapted (Pylon's zero-turn handshake guard already hid the num_turns: 0 form), and a steered-turn regression test was added.
7ab800a43c (#14540) Claude subagents with their own model show it Prepared in #973. Keeps Pylon's resume model carry-over and offerRuntimeEvent(sessionIncarnationId, …) signature. Merges cleanly with fix/claude-resume-unsaved-first-turn.
bd89c13020 (#14486) Grok CLIs older than 1.0.13 marked broken Skipped. The change edits only the manifest compatibility ranges. Pylon's manifest has no compatibility section, since the version-compatibility pipeline (96c4bfa0a2, d4cd7d5c33) is still held, and Pylon has no Grok version floor. Its only CLI floor is the provider-local MINIMUM_CODEX_CLI_VERSION in CodexProvider.ts. Follow-up candidate: a matching provider-local Grok >=1.0.13 floor in GrokProvider.ts. Recorded in #973.
7c67876983 (#14490) Hide disconnected environments when adding projects Prepared in #977 (web and mobile). Includes upstream's "no connected environment → Settings → Connections" guard.
1905846e03 (#14499) Dark+/Light+ import instead of colliding with built-in ids Prepared in #977.
0cf482b08b (#10154) Composer suggestions usable with screen readers Prepared in #977. Adapted to the Lexical composer: ARIA props are mapped onto ContentEditable, and the menu, status-region and option-id semantics match upstream. Not tested with a screen reader.
921cb3c8bc (#14542) Restart the agent session from cmd+k Prepared in #978. Compatible with Pylon's lifecycle ownership: it dispatches the existing persisted thread.session.stop, which keeps the binding, resume cursor and Stop receipts, and leaves admission and the reaper unchanged. A fresh workspace rescan uses the new optional fresh RPC flag. Web and desktop only, as upstream. Resume after restart was not verified live because the test account hit its usage limit.
6b286ae8a2 (#13612) Start threads without a project Owned by design review #963. Not ported here.
67b175a4c9 (#14028) Release: npm platform packages built and published concurrently Skip as T3-specific. Pylon has no scripts/build-npm-platform-packages.ts or platform-package publish order, and its publish_cli job is opt-in (PUBLISH_CLI_TO_NPM). T3 npm/CLI distribution is excluded.
6f8e2534f2 (#14025) CI: PR checks side by side, balanced server shards Candidate for a later CI PR. It would split Pylon's single check job into parallel lint, typecheck, build and web-test jobs, and replace Pylon's 3 even server shards with upstream's weighted shard sequencer (shardWeights.json plus a weights updater). It must keep the server.test.ts budget-report shard rule and add new jobs to any required-check aggregator. Not changed here.
8630e1ac7a (#14037) Release: trim Windows packaging setup Candidate for a later release PR. Pylon builds Windows inside release.yml's build matrix (there is no release-desktop.yml) and still restores a windows-release-packages-v1-* pnpm cache. It would drop that cache, use checkout.workers=0, and skip the MSVC/build-library install when the resource monitor is cached. Release workflow not changed in this task.
c57a04b722 (#14027) Release: Windows builds without waiting for Linux Skip as already covered. Pylon's build job is one platform matrix, so Windows never waited on a Linux job. The rest of the change is restructuring of T3's release-desktop.yml and its preview-publish permissions, which Pylon does not have.
783ccf0fdd (#14029) Release: Vercel deployments built early, live after publish Candidate for a later release PR, since DEPLOY_HOSTED_WEB=true on this repo. Pylon's deploy_web builds and deploys only after release. Adopting this would build and deploy the Vercel preview in parallel with build, then promote and alias after publish. Release workflow not changed in this task.

.agents/upstream-review.md is not advanced. #973, #977 and #978 still need review and merge, and the three release/CI candidates need a decision.
