fix(server): an agent's t3_thread_launch on a linked environment stays top-level - #27012
When an agent on environment A called t3_thread_launch with environmentId: <B> and also passed delegatedFrom, which is in the tool's input schema, the thread on B was stamped as a delegated child of A's thread. Clients hide such threads from the sidebar as "shown under its parent". Only delegate_task records the child on the parent, so A's Lineage panel never listed it either. The thread was reachable only through the tool result's link. Reproduced on main (37fbefd) with the linked laptop/box harness in PeerForwarding.test.ts: the box's launch carried the agent's delegatedFrom unchanged.
Change
Only delegate_task's cross-machine path (RemoteDelegation) may name a remote parent now:
A (sending side), McpToolAccess.routed: an agent's call forwarded to a linked environment drops delegatedFrom. RemoteDelegation calls PeerForwarding.call directly, not through routed, so it still sends delegatedFrom. B can't tell the two apart, because both arrive as the link session.
B (receiving side), t3_thread_launch handler:delegatedFrom is kept only when the caller is the link session itself. An agent in a thread a link started inherits that linkOrigin, but its own launch no longer claims a parent.
The fix is server-only, so web, desktop and mobile all pick it up with no client change.
Added PeerForwarding.test.ts › "an agent's launch in a linked environment is top-level, whatever it claims". On main it fails: the box's launch receives { environmentId: "environment-laptop", threadId: "thread:laptop-full", … }. With the fix it passes.
Added an assertion to linkOrigin.test.ts › "is stamped, and so is the work it derives": an agent in a thread the laptop started claims a parent with a local launch. With the fix, the thread keeps the link's linkOrigin and has no delegatedFrom. The assertion fails when handlers.ts is reverted to main.
Existing RemoteDelegation.test.ts still passes, including the check that a real delegate_task child carries delegatedFrom. PeerForwarding, linkOrigin and RemoteDelegation: 36/36 pass. vp run check:changed passes (format, lint, knip, typecheck, tests for the 6 affected files).
Evidence: transcript-27004.txt, the before/after test runs on synthetic fixtures. Before is 8e33fdc (red test on main 37fbefd); after is the PR head.
…keeps delegatedFrom
An agent's t3_thread_launch forwarded to a linked environment passes its
own delegatedFrom through, so the thread there is stamped as a delegated
child no parent lists. The launch the box receives must carry none.

…s top-level
An agent calling t3_thread_launch with another environment's id could pass
its own delegatedFrom through. The linked environment trusts that field from
the link session, so it stamped the thread as a delegated child, and clients
hid it under a parent that never recorded it.
The forwarder now drops delegatedFrom from an agent's call; only
delegate_task's remote path, which records the parent's side, sets it. On the
receiving side, an agent running in a thread a link started no longer keeps
a delegatedFrom it claims: only the link session itself may.

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — Ordinary agent launches stay top-level by discarding claimed remote-parent metadata, while genuine delegated tasks retain their parent links. The change is limited to new-thread provenance and leaves existing records and access controls unchanged.

Launch handling now omits delegatedFrom when a caller thread exists. Linked-environment forwarding also removes caller-supplied delegatedFrom. Tests cover link-origin retention and the forwarded launch input.

t3_thread_launch omits delegatedFrom when a caller thread exists. The linked-environment forwarding path removes delegatedFrom before forwarding. Tests check that link origin is retained and that the receiving launch input omits the field.
Agent-launched threads no longer carry the false parent claim. No material merge risk was identified.

Explanation
Linked issue #27004 is the only active direct target. Its requirement: an agent's t3_thread_launch on a linked environment must not produce a thread that is hidden as a delegated child without a parent entry. Its suggested fixes: keep delegatedFrom for real delegate_task launches only, or make such threads visible.
Evidence at head:
McpToolAccess.routed (apps/server/src/mcp/McpToolAccess.ts) now removes delegatedFrom from an agent's forwarded params before adding environmentId. An agent's call on A cannot carry delegatedFrom to B. This matches the first suggested fix, applied on the forwarding path. The public schema is unchanged.
handlers.ts t3_thread_launch keeps input.delegatedFrom only when caller is undefined, that is, the link session itself. An agent in a thread that a link started (caller defined) no longer stamps a parent. The thread keeps linkOrigin.
Without delegatedFrom, the thread is top-level. It is not filtered as a delegated child, so it is visible in the sidebar, which resolves the reported symptom.
delegate_task's cross-machine path (RemoteDelegation) is reported to call PeerForwarding.call directly, not routed. I did not inspect RemoteDelegation.ts, so this is taken from the PR description and its reported RemoteDelegation.test.ts run.
Tests reported in the PR: PeerForwarding.test.ts case 'an agent's launch in a linked environment is top-level, whatever it claims' and a linkOrigin.test.ts assertion. I did not run them. Their results are as reported.
Residual limits, outside this PR's requirement or acknowledged by the PR: threads already stamped before the fix keep delegatedFrom; an older sending server still forwards it until upgraded.

Explanation
The whole-PR diff against merge base 37fbefd touches four files, and each connects to #27004:
apps/server/src/mcp/McpToolAccess.ts: the routed forwarding path drops caller-supplied delegatedFrom. This directly removes the stamp described in the issue.
apps/server/src/mcp/toolkits/project/handlers.ts: t3_thread_launch keeps delegatedFrom only for the link session. This is the receiving side of the same fix.
apps/server/src/mcp/linkOrigin.test.ts and apps/server/src/peer/PeerForwarding.test.ts: regression tests for the two behaviors above.
No unrelated client, schema, or lineage changes appear in the reviewed diffs. The PR description states the change is server-only. The PR-description 'Scope and approval' section names the same issue, so the changes match the stated scope.

Add this case to the existing forwarded-launch test.
The existing “launches in a linked environment with the caller's modes, retry-safe” test already sets up the same peers and accepts extra launch arguments. Add the claimed-delegatedFrom call and assertion there instead of starting a second linked-peer fixture. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
As per coding guidelines, “Extend before you add. When an existing test or table covers the behavior, add a row or an assertion there.” The matching path instruction applies the same rule to changed tests.
