🟠 High components/WorktreeBaseBranchField.tsx:21

A draft typed for one project/environment is saved to the newly selected project/environment when both scopes have the same value, so the edit changes the wrong settings. The draft guard compares only props.value, and the retained field receives the new scope’s onChange; bind the draft to the target identity or remount the field when targetsKey changes.

Also found in 1 other location(s)

apps/mobile/src/features/settings/SettingsServerControlsRouteScreen.tsx:398

The field is not scoped by targetsKey, so an unsaved draft can be saved to a different project/environment. WorktreeBaseBranchField retains its draft and only checks that the original setting value equals the current value; its input key also uses only that value. For example, type a branch for project A, dismiss the Android keyboard without ending editing, switch the filter to project B with the same existing value (commonly ""), then leave the screen. The retained draft passes the guard and invokes the new write callback for B, changing B instead of A. React's 'Preserving and Resetting State' documentation confirms same-position components preserve state unless their identity changes. Give this field a target-specific identity and preserve/save the draft against its original targets.

Bind the field lifetime to targetsKey.

ServerSettingsDetail does not key WorktreeBaseBranchField by the selected targets. If two targets have the same saved branch, key={props.value} remains unchanged. The draft can then survive a target switch, and save can send it through the new target's write callback. Key the field by targetsKey so its cleanup handles the draft before the target changes.

Update the WorktreeBaseBranchField instance in ServerSettingsDetail to use
targetsKey as its key instead of props.value, ensuring the field remounts and
cleans up its draft when selected targets change.

A configured base branch outside the currently loaded page is skipped, so this effect persists the default or current branch instead and new worktrees start from the wrong branch. Because selectBranch makes selectedBranchName non-null, later pages cannot correct the selection; resolve the configured ref independently or finish searching before persisting a fallback.

Resolve the configured branch before selecting a fallback.

If develop exists only as origin/develop, the exact-name lookup misses it. allBranchRefs also contains only the loaded pages. A configured branch on a later page can therefore be missed. The effect can select the default or current branch first, then stop when selectedBranchName is non-null.

Query the configured ref independently of the paginated picker results. Support both the configured short name and its remote-only form before applying the fallback.

Wait for saved settings before selecting the worktree base branch.

When the settings atom is still null, useEnvironmentSettings returns DEFAULT_SERVER_SETTINGS, whose newWorktreesBaseBranch is empty. The branch query can finish independently. The effect can then select the repository default branch. When the saved settings arrive, activeThreadBranch is already set, so the guard prevents the configured branch from replacing it.

Gate automatic selection on the raw settings snapshot:
