Summary

Fixes Antigravity /usage-limits missing Gemini · 5-hour, Gemini · Weekly, and Claude & GPT (shared) · 5-hour quota windows on personal OAuth accounts, ensures live session refreshes publish updated limits to connected clients, and widens the LimitWindows label column so "Claude & GPT (shared) · 5-hour" and "Claude & GPT (shared) · Weekly" do not truncate their window cadence suffix.

Related issues:

Problem

  1. Consumer OAuth project_id: "aicode-consumers" omits Gemini quota buckets:
    • agy_acp_server writes "project_id": "aicode-consumers" into acp_token.json for personal OAuth sign-ins.
    • Calling v1internal:retrieveUserQuotaSummary with { project: "aicode-consumers" } only returns the Claude and GPT Models weekly group and omits Gemini Models entirely, unless the user's real cloudaicompanionProject is resolved first via v1internal:loadCodeAssist ({ metadata: { ideType: "ANTIGRAVITY" } }).
  2. Grouped retrieveUserQuotaSummary responses and 5-hour model quotas:
    • Current cloudcode-pa responses return groups (displayName: "Gemini Models" / "Claude and GPT Models") where buckets identify their cadence via displayName ("Weekly" / "Five-Hour") and human-readable description strings ("Limit refreshes in ..."), and omit remainingFraction when a proto3 zero (0.0) limit is reached.
    • Furthermore, retrieveUserQuotaSummary only returns weekly buckets (gemini-weekly, 3p-weekly) when 5-hour model quotas are served via v1internal:fetchAvailableModels (quotaInfo per model). Previously, fetchAvailableModels was only queried when summary.length === 0, leaving Gemini · 5-hour (gemini-5h) and Claude & GPT (shared) · 5-hour (3p-5h) missing whenever weekly summary groups were present.
  3. Go runtime User-Agent platform/arch normalization:
    • cloudcode-pa expects Go runtime os_type (windows instead of Node's win32) and arch (amd64 instead of Node's x64) in the antigravity/hub/... User-Agent.
  4. Stale snapshot retention & label truncation in UsageLimits.tsx:
    • managedProvider.ts (publishEnrichedSnapshot) kept the older cached usageLimits if current.usageLimits was already populated, and AntigravityProvider.ts only probed usage on session start when usageLimits was missing/unavailable.
    • In UsageLimits.tsx, the first column (minmax(0,9rem) / 11rem) was too narrow for "Claude & GPT (shared) · 5-hour" + "100% left", truncating the "· 5-hour" and "· Weekly" suffixes.

Changes

  • apps/server/src/provider/antigravityUsageLimits.ts:
    • Normalize os_type (win32 -> windows) and arch (x64 -> amd64) in the probe User-Agent.
    • Resolve cloudaicompanionProject via v1internal:loadCodeAssist when token.project_id is missing or set to the consumer placeholder "aicode-consumers".
    • Parse grouped retrieveUserQuotaSummary buckets (displayName, description reset countdowns, and proto3 zero-omitted remainingFraction when a weekly/5-hour bucket is exhausted).
    • Query v1internal:fetchAvailableModels and merge gemini-5h / 3p-5h when retrieveUserQuotaSummary only provides weekly group buckets.
  • packages/provider-core/src/server/usageLimits.ts:
    • Sort gemini-* windows before 3p-* windows while preserving session (5-hour) before weekly order within each family.
  • packages/provider-core/src/server/managedProvider.ts & apps/server/src/provider/AntigravityProvider.ts:
    • Refresh usageLimits on onSessionStarted and prefer fresher non-unavailable draft.usageLimits in publishEnrichedSnapshot.
  • apps/web/src/components/usage/UsageLimits.tsx:
    • Widen the first column in LimitWindows to 17rem (minmax(0,17rem) in compact mode) so "Claude & GPT (shared) · 5-hour" and "Claude & GPT (shared) · Weekly" remain readable alongside "100% left".

Verification

  • pnpm exec vp test run apps/server/src/provider/antigravityUsageLimits.test.ts packages/provider-core/src/server/usageLimits.test.ts apps/server/src/provider/AntigravityProvider.test.ts (all 36 tests pass, including new unit test coverage for aicode-consumers loadCodeAssist project resolution and grouped weekly + model 5-hour quota merging).
  • Verified live in T3 Code Desktop on Windows against a personal Google OAuth Antigravity account.

🟠 High provider/antigravityUsageLimits.ts:346

When loadCodeAssist fails or returns no companion project on the first endpoint, the probe skips project lookup on later endpoints, so accounts resolvable only there lose their quota windows. The failure is cached as null, but the lookup guard retries only when the value is undefined; keep unresolved results undefined so each endpoint can be tried.

Approvability

Verdict: Needs Human Approval

Macroscope's review found this PR requires human approval — This PR substantially changes Antigravity quota resolution, network calls, session refresh behavior, shared provider snapshot handling, and default usage UI layout. An unresolved High-severity finding also identifies a fallback path that can omit quota windows for some accounts.

📝 Walkthrough

The Antigravity usage-limit probe now resolves project candidates, parses summary and model quotas, and supplements incomplete summaries. Session probes reconcile published limits, and the usage-limit display sorts and presents windows with updated rules.

Changes: Antigravity usage-limit discovery

The probe resolves companion projects and tries distinct project candidates. It parses grouped and top-level quota buckets, derives missing IDs and reset times, and uses model results to fill incomplete summary coverage. The test fixture and consumer-account test cover companion-project resolution and merged quota windows.

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 047bc

Starting an Antigravity session can be delayed by up to 30 seconds when the usage probe is slow, and quota lookup can fail on consumer accounts if one endpoint hangs. Neither causes data loss; address them before or shortly after merge.

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to 047bc

Credentials remain within the existing service boundary, and the changes primarily affect quota reporting. The remaining concern is whether delayed results can cross an account change; protective cancellation exists, but its end-to-end coverage was not fully established.

Retained concerns

  • Low · security · inferred: Unconditional session-start probing broadens an existing account-transition race window. A delayed result passes the local publication guard after the authentication revision changes if the current state is authenticated again, potentially publishing prior-account quota information and its fingerprint. The guard predates this PR; previously, starts with usable cached limits skipped the network probe. Authentication flows stop sessions and owned processes, which may prevent this overlap, but cancellation of the caller awaiting the session-start callback was not established.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The supported residual exposure is account quota information and its fingerprint in the affected provider's snapshots and subscribers. The inspected change does not establish access to arbitrary tenants, credential disclosure, or increased execution privileges.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — No authorization bypass was verified. The conditional concern requires a prior-account probe to survive account-transition cleanup and complete after reauthentication. The local callback would then accept the changed revision; whether production session shutdown permits that sequence remains unresolved.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — HTTP destinations remain fixed, requests reject non-success statuses, and redirects are handled manually. Returned project identifiers are accepted as nonempty strings and forwarded under the existing bearer token. Project authorization therefore relies on the upstream service; its enforcement contract was not available and is not treated as a demonstrated vulnerability.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — Requests have a ten-second timeout and the overall probe a thirty-second timeout. Session startup awaits the quota callback before activation completes, so repeated starts now inherit quota-service latency even with usable cached limits. Timeout and failed-probe retention bound this dependency, although they do not resolve successful late-result ownership.

Keep usage probing off the critical session-start path.

AntigravityDriver always supplies usage.probe, and the adapter runs provider.onSessionStarted inside the awaited runtime.start() effect. Session startup stores the active session only after that effect completes. The callback waits for the usage probe before publishing ready status, authentication, and models. The probe can wait up to 30 seconds before returning its fallback.

The new condition causes this delay even when an available usage snapshot already exists. Restore the previous conditional probe.

Limit the request count so it fits the 30-second probe timeout.

For consumer accounts (needsProjectResolution), each fetchWindows call can send these requests in sequence:

  • one loadCodeAssist request;
  • up to three project candidates (companion, aicode-consumers, "") per endpoint;
  • the same set again on the second endpoint.

read can call fetchWindows twice, once for the summary and once for the models. Each request has a 10-second timeout, and the whole probe has a 30-second timeout.

Assume daily-cloudcode-pa hangs instead of failing fast. The loadCodeAssist request takes 10 seconds and then returns null. The candidate requests then take another 30 seconds. The probe times out before the production endpoint is tried and reports probeFailed, even though the production endpoint is healthy. The old code sent one request per endpoint, so the worst case was smaller.

Also, resolvedCompanionProject is set to null after the first endpoint fails. The second endpoint never retries the lookup.

Possible fixes:

  • If a candidate request times out on one endpoint, stop trying candidates there and move to the next endpoint.
  • Or lower the per-request timeout so the worst case fits the 30-second budget.
  • Retry loadCodeAssist on the next endpoint when the first lookup failed with a transport error.

Taking over this one for batch worktree-git-13. I will assess the smallest correct consumer-quota fix, remove unsupported cadence assumptions, and check whether live account verification is available before publishing changes.

Takeover assessment for batch worktree-git-13: blocked; no implementation pushed. The branch remains at 047bc56. Thank you @EinMelih for identifying the consumer-project and missing-window problem.

The current head has four reproduced correctness problems:

  • Project discovery: an empty/failed first-host result becomes null, preventing loadCodeAssist on the second host. A valid project available only there is never discovered.
  • Model quota parsing: a weekly sibling turns duration-free quotaInfo into a five-hour allowance. A reset timestamp and weekly sibling do not establish that cadence. Keep a reported quota without a duration unless its mapping is explicit.
  • Optional model collection: serial requests can exhaust the outer 30-second deadline and discard an already successful weekly summary. Preserve current main’s concurrent host union and retain successful data when optional requests fail.
  • Session startup: every start awaits quota HTTP, including when usage is already cached. The adapter awaits this callback, so a slow quota service delays startup. Refresh in provider-owned background work and publish the result independently.

The omitted-fraction-to-exhausted interpretation also needs an upstream contract or real captured shape. The shared snapshot/UI edits affect other providers and need separate proof if retained. Current main already combines both quota hosts, so conflict resolution must preserve that newer behavior.

Evidence: the original scoped suites are unchanged: 47 tests at the merge base, 48 at this head, and 48/48 pass in four files. Four temporary desired-behavior assertions outside the repository fail against unchanged production source, with synthetic HTTP traces, Deferred milestones and TestClock. These demonstrate the four local bugs; they are not real Google requests.

Issue #21115 supplies useful reported User-Agent comparisons and explicit five-hour summary buckets. That does not establish consumer companion-project discovery or the cadence of duration-free model quotas. The Antigravity provider/runtime is unavailable in this environment and no eligible consumer account is available. Per the batch instruction to block unverifiable changes, a mock-backed rebuild will not be pushed as a verified consumer fix.

To unblock, on an authorized machine:

  1. Use a disposable T3 home, install a supported Antigravity ACP runtime, and sign in through its personal Google flow with an eligible consumer account. Record runtime version, OS, account tier and UTC time; exclude identity.
  2. Capture redacted status, timing and response shapes for each host’s loadCodeAssist, retrieveUserQuotaSummary and fetchAvailableModels, using the discovered project. Replace identifiers consistently and preserve omitted fields. Never publish credentials, token files, Authorization/Cookie headers or an unredacted HAR.
  3. Map each displayed allowance to an explicit response field or authoritative upstream contract. Verify five-hour cadence, shared Claude/GPT grouping, and any omitted-fraction default. Keep unknown duration/data honest when no contract exists.
  4. On the rebuilt candidate SHA, prove first-host failure/second-host success, summary retention during stalled optional requests, cached and cold session startup without waiting for quota HTTP, later publication to a second connected client, and sign-out/account-switch isolation.
  5. Compare actual percentages/reset times with the same account in the native IDE. Capture web/desktop before/after evidence if layout changes survive; check mobile rendering separately. Record untested platforms explicitly.

The test assessment and detailed acceptance procedure contain exact requests and local reproductions. Source and tests remain unchanged; no replacement PR or stack was opened.

Independent review: one full round with fresh GPT-6-sol and Claude Opus 5.5 reviewers. Both confirm the blocked disposition and the four reproduced defects. These findings remain open; this is not a clean-review or merge-ready result.

Additional checks: server typecheck fails with two PR-introduced Effect diagnostics at antigravityUsageLimits.ts:89 for new Date() and Date.now(); use Effect DateTime/Clock if the prose parser is retained. Formatting fails on the quota source and test. Scoped lint and provider-core typecheck pass. No test/lint/typecheck CI workflow ran on this original head; its label/bot checks do not prove readiness. The branch still conflicts with main.

Models/harnesses: GPT-6-astra test assessment and GPT-6.1-sol implementation assessment through Codex; GPT-6-sol and Claude Opus 5.5 adversarial reviews through T3 Code.
