Steps to reproduce
I have a 20$ subscription and i wasnt running out so early
in t3 code it runs out with a 1.5 hrs of work
Expected behavior
it should take the same usage or even less
Actual behavior
takes double the usage as normal
btw i use opus 5 medium with no thinking so maybe its using thinking on its own

Closing because the report does not have the current details needed to investigate. The report does not include comparable prompts, token counts, provider logs, or an application version. The broader usage concern remains tracked in #7338.
A new issue can be opened with the current application version, reproduction steps, and relevant logs if the problem still occurs.

We know about this, and I'm on it. I confirmed that it is a real bug on Anthropic's side, and I have contacted Anthropic about it.
For the same tokens, Anthropic's 5h meter charges Agent SDK traffic (which T3 Code uses) about 1.6x to 1.7x more than the interactive Claude Code TUI. Weekly limits are not affected. T3 Code does not send more tokens or break the cache.

Looks like this is fixed on Anthropic's side now. Kaleb Campbell, who first reported Claude Code draining about 5x faster on Oct 21, posted yesterday that usage is "officially fixed and it is a lot better than what it was":

That lines up with what Theo found earlier:
Thanks for chasing this with Anthropic. I'll retest in T3 Code on my $20 plan and report back in #24649 if the 5h meter still drains faster than the CLI.
