[Bug]: Off-state switches in Settings have ~1.1:1 contrast and are nearly invisible in dark mode #17874
I searched existing issues and did not find a duplicate.
I included enough detail to reproduce or investigate the problem.
Area
apps/desktop
Steps to reproduce
Use the desktop app with the default dark theme.
Open Settings → Connections.
Look at the switches in the Off state: Network access, T3 Connect, Publish agent activity.
Expected behavior
Off switches are clearly visible as interactive controls. WCAG 2.1 SC 1.4.11 (Non-text Contrast) asks for at least 3:1 contrast between a control's boundary and the colors next to it.
Actual behavior
The off switch nearly disappears into the row background. From pixels sampled in a screenshot:
Element
Color
Row background
#0d0d0d
Off-switch track
#191919
Off-switch knob
#0b0b0b
Track vs. background is about 1.1:1, far below the 3:1 minimum. The knob is darker than the track, so it doesn't help either.
In practice I couldn't find the Network access toggle and assumed the setting didn't exist. I only found it after being told it was there. With low vision, a dim display, or bright ambient light, these controls are effectively invisible. They also look disabled rather than off.
Suggested fixes: a visible border or outline on the off track (e.g. --border / --input at ≥3:1), a lighter knob in the off state, or both. The issue probably lives in the shared Switch component, so it likely affects every off switch in the app, not just Connections.
Related: #14979 also notes off switches being "almost invisible in dark mode", but that issue is mainly about missing remote threads.
