[Bug]: Subagent parent link lacks pointer cursor and visible hover feedback on Windows #15159

Description

@Neonsy

Before submitting

  • I searched existing issues and did not find a duplicate.
  • I included enough detail to reproduce or investigate the problem.

Area

apps/web

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start T3 Code Nightly on Windows
  2. Open an existing subagent's thread from its parent thread's Thread details → Lineage list
  3. Hover the mouse over the “Subagent of · ” pill at the top of the conversation
  4. Click the pill to confirm that it opens the parent thread

Expected behavior

The clickable parent-thread pill should show a pointer cursor and a clearly visible hover state, so users can tell that it opens another thread

Actual behavior

The pill is clickable and opens the parent thread, but the cursor does not change and there is no visible hover feedback in the Windows desktop app

Source inspection for this nightly: TimelineSystemDivider renders this as a button without an explicit cursor-pointer class. It already has transition-colors and hover:bg-muted, so the observed missing hover feedback should be investigated rather than assuming that no hover styling exists

    Triage

Thanks @Neonsy for the clear repro and for already pointing at the source. I confirmed this on current main. It isn't specific to the Windows desktop app; it should look the same on macOS and Linux.

The "Subagent of" pill is the action state of TimelineSystemDivider (apps/web/src/components/chat/TimelineSystemDivider.tsx). The button works, but its classes are only:

    flex min-w-0 items-center gap-1.5 rounded-full border border-border/70 bg-background px-2.5 py-1 transition-colors hover:bg-muted

Two separate things make it feel inert:

    1. Cursor. It's a raw <button> with no cursor-pointer, and Tailwind v4 preflight leaves buttons on the default arrow. The shared Button and the other chat controls set cursor-pointer themselves.
    2. Hover fill. hover:bg-muted is there, as you noted, but the resting fill is bg-background, and in the default theme those tokens are nearly identical (light #fcfcfc → #fafafa, dark #0a0a0a → #111111). That step doesn't read as a hover, so the "Open parent thread" tooltip is the only obvious feedback.

The same button is used for the fork dividers ("Forked from conversation" / "Conversation fork"), so they share the gap.

    Likely fix area

The in-timeline subagent row in V2LifecycleRow.tsx already handles this with cursor-pointer, hover:bg-accent/20, and a focus-visible ring. Following that pattern in TimelineSystemDivider, including a visible focus ring (the button has none today), would cover the pill and the fork dividers. A maintainer will decide on the exact styling.

The nightly you reported (fed41fa88bb2) is an ancestor of current main, and this component hasn't changed since, so no further info is needed.
